Had dinner at this restaurant this evening
The restaurant was rather on the warm side
The tri-tip was not very good tough and should've been cut much thinner
The rotisserie chicken we had was very good though
Pleasant staff.
Very large restaurant we were there midweek and there were not many customers there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 27, 2012
I checked Yelp while in Truckee. I didn't want a chain restaurant, I wanted something locally owned. Bill's Rotisserie came up with some great reviews, so I decided to give them a try.
I ordered the Tri Tip & Chicken combo plate with a side of coleslaw, cucumber salad and corn tortillas with homemade hot sauce. It was less than $10.
The tri tip meat was tender, juicy and perfectly marinated. The chicken was falling off the bone with the perfect amount of marinade. The coleslaw and cucumber salad were homemade and delicious. The hot sauce...Holy Crap!!! That was some REALLY hot, homemade sauce. It was AWESOME!!
Make sure you have a lot to drink if you get the hot sauce.
Everything is made fresh in front of you and you see them taking the chicken off of the rotisserie that they put on your place. This place is authentic and it is awesome.
I would highly recommend it and will definitely be going back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 27, 2013
We ordered take out from here for a larger group that just got in to town, and it was a nice surprise how good it was. We ordered a family meal with a whole rotisserie chicken with a side of rice, cucumber salad, and beans. The chicken was exceptional, and I wish we ordered two for the group.
We also ordered a bunch of pork soft tacos, which were also very tasty. The chips were good, the guacamole was okay - the only thing that really wasn't that great.
All three families loved the meal, even the kids!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John D.Seattle, WA1318407Feb 4, 2013
Disappointing and tasteless Beef tri tip, I left 50% of the meat in my plate. As many said prices are awesome however food quality is at the opposite.
The restaurant is very dirty (+ dirty A/C grids) and the main door is broken. I assume they will be out of business soon, else they should take care of this restaurant!
Only pro: parking is convenient (as it is for every restaurant in the area)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 24, 2011
I've been there a few times - both the drive thru and ordering at the counter. Each time the service was fast! My favorites:
- tri tip burrito
- chicken tostada
- chicken & tri tip plate
For the kids, anything off their kid's menu was inexpensive and the kids ate them fast. Their salsas are homemade and freshly made. I would even say Bill's is more healthy than other places since they use black beans on the dishes.
I'll be back for more.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sean C.Mérida, Mexico741175495Apr 18, 2015
I was hungry and hit this place up before heading to my motel. I ordered a tri-tip burrito at the drive through and was really disappointed. The burrito was mostly beans with only a little bit of rice and just a few pieces of meat, and it was all really salty.

Expensive, tiny, dry chickens...
Rotisserie chicken is supposed to be juicy and succulent. This was bad.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 29, 2015
When i think rotisserie i think hofbrau. In these parts it's generally a Mexican style preparation. Bill's does the later; chicken a few ways, tri tip and Mexican staples too. Got both meats and some beans and such for the sides. Pretty good though there were spot instances of dryness. I think you have to case out when things come fresh off when it's going to be best. They just dont do the pure volume where there's something coming off hot all the time

I stopped here to pick up some burritos for the family after a day of skiing. They're huge, so we split them, had half each, and nobody was hungry. I split the tri-tip with my wife and it was a good burrito. Nothing outstanding, but good. Until I tried that salsa. That medium salsa, the green one? Holy crap was it delicious! This will be our go-to stop for burritos in the area from now on!

The chicken was okay.. and warm! I also tried the tri-tip. Flavorless & cold. I got a side of cucumber salad, it tasted and looked really old. The potato salad tasted like the lowest grade they could order that comes in 1 gallon tubs. The environment was unwelcoming, looked & felt dirty.
I will not be going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
