Big Oaks is not a fancy course but always a great way to get a spontaneous round in at a great price!

Awful course, everything is in terrible condition. You'd expect this out of a $10 per round course, but we paid $28 per person. The guy who rang me up just assumed I wanted to ride instead of walk, and when asked about it told me that I said I wanted a cart. So not only a bad course but a dishonest staff...

If your looking to play 18 on the North side of Chicago and keep it under $30, here you go. Twilight pricing starts at 2:30pm and is $29 with cart for 18. They have 27 holes here which is nice if you want to mix and match your front and back nines.
This course is 45 minutes from the evanston/skokie area unless your speed racer on a mission from above. In either case, this place is a decent choice for getting some good, cheap rounds in.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - TJ K.Racine, WI36482Jun 20, 2015
Dollar for dollar, Big Oaks is a below average course that just does not stand up to the other competition in the area.
By comparison, Brighton Dale, offers a well groomed, smiling staff, full grill (including breakfast) and a 45 hole above average course that makes the golf experience delightful .... versus the frowns and moaning that you get from the Big Oaks staff.
The food offering at Big Oaks is limited to just hot dogs and some packaged snacks. So, forget about getting anything for breakfast and other than a hot dog, plan on going hungry for lunch. IMHOHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vanessa H.Kenosha, WI09Jun 10, 2017
Whoever answered the phone when I called to ask a question was so rude! He had a mean tone and he mumbled like a cave man. Very disappointed!

Big Oaks is a nicely priced golf course for the average golfer. While the fairways are not groomed like some of the 40 dollars and up (for 18 holes and a cart) courses, they do offer 18 holes and a cart for 26 dollars during the week. There are 27 holes to choose to play from and you can mix and match the nine hole courses anyway you want. The greens for the most part are fairly large and putting is usually very consistent. I have always found the staff very nice and they even let my young daughter ride along without charge (only course in southeast Wisconsin that I know of that allows this). Thus developing her desire to learn how to play the game and hopefully a future customer for them. While the clubhouse is limited on their food offerings, did you come to eat or golf? I have always enjoyed my round of golf at Big Oaks and will be coming back until something changes.
