My son had an appointment to look at a car and after driving on icy roads to get there we get a call when were 30 minutes away that they sold the car on Saturday. I have bought cars off them for many years but after the stunt they pulled today I will never darken their door again. If there was a star for zero they would get it

Super unprofessional. Dave Thorne set up an appointment for me to buy a car, and sold it out from under me the day before our appointment. No mention of deposits to hold. Financing was in place on my end. Zero accountability when I asked to speak with someone other than Dave. Just covering for each other.

A battery icon was flashing on the dashboard of my friend's 2018 Honda HRV and we thought it was her car battery. Later she remembered seeing the word "key" flash just before the icon.
She determined that it was the car key battery and we drove over to Berlin Honda to confirm her assessment, since she had just purchased a new car battery and thought that unless the battery was faulty, the issue was likely the key fob battery.
We were greeted at the door by a salesperson who confirmed her "diagnosis." He first showed her how to pop open the key case, showed her the battery and mentioned that she could get it at a local store (like CVS) instead of what it might cost to have it done at Berlin Honda.
Since we were on a road trip and wanted to get on our way, we opted for the Honda Parts center solution, so he directed us to the Parts counter.
The rep kindly changed her battery and charged her nothing for the battery as well as the service.
Awesome! I wish I had thought to get the names of both the sales person and the parts person as this is the kind of customer service over the long term that would result in a future purchase!
I know this is a long post for a small act of kindness but we are incredibly grateful for being able to easily solve our problem so we could continue in our road trip without worrying about the flashing light.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We were told when we got service that we could go in anytime for their express service to get a sticker but when we showed up to get it done they were very rude and said who told you that and when we told him at the last service he said we are very busy , it's not possible and walked away from us. Needless to say we will not be going back for any service!

Though I live in Tennessee, when I'm in Maine I always go to Berlin City Honda. I've found all their staff to be exceptional--friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, efficient. But following my last two visits I have to give special shout-outs to three in particular: to service advisor Adrian C who invested considerable time (and saved me roughly $250) tracking down an extended tire warranty; to service advisor Eric S who worked equally hard trying to figure out why my trunk lid seems to randomly pop open; and to service technician Benjamin G who speculates that the monkey's fist knot on the end of my key chain has been pressing on the trunk-release button on my key fob, which I usually carry in my pocket. Berlin City, I hate to think how much of your time I wasted yesterday, and I wouldn't have complained if you had charged me for it--but you didn't! Thank you so much.

Was told on 5/25/23 I needed to replace my engine timing belt and water pump for $1502.09 because the "Tensioner was leaking". I asked, based upon the picture I was shown, why would they determine my tensioner was leaking when I saw no moisture, and was told the metal was "dark" from the moisture due to a leak. The service technician then noticed I had my timing belt and water pump replaced back in July 2021 (by Berlin City) for $1564.24 and said I don't need to worry about it and the confusion was caused by the darker metal.
My suggestion is to get a second opinion on everything.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - E H.Portland, ME01445Jun 28, 2022
Honda cars have an internal system that Honda wants the owner to rely on. Essentially the car tells you when it needs an oil change and service. It is no longer a matter of time or mileage as to when service gets done. So why is this dealership upselling me on service the car says I don't need?
Here was the pressure I got for my 30k mileage Ridgeline:
"I understand you declined all other required factory maintenance, but I still have to let you know what is due. The oil change, tire rotation, tire balance, air filters, transmission fluid, rear differential fluid, brake fluid flush, fuel induction, and 4 wheel alignment are all due and declined today. I'm assuming you don't want the multipoint inspection performed either?
Okay, we will do the free oil change as requested and will not look over anything else on the car."
I was actually considering the 3 oil change package til I got the massive up sell pressure ("factory required maintenance!!! ). Nope.
The only reason I came here for an oil change was because I had a free coupon. I got the coupon because last time I was here for a factory recall it took them 4 hours to replace (a hood latch of all things) and the manager gave it to me because I complained.
Once again a dealership has proved to me why I shouldn't use them. You probably shouldn't either. Hopefully they managed to change my oil and filter without messing that up.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David K.Gray, ME01Sep 15, 2023
Terrible service and unethical. Part broke on my car that was covered under warranty, and they tried to say it wasn't and make me pay cash. Went to another Honda dealer and fixed it under warranty. Avoid this place!

I recently purchased a car from them and had a great experience.
I do want to point out that both the salesman I had and the service person both told me that if they don't receive the highest score on any surveys, they "flunk" so you must give them all high marks. What a crappy thing to do to your employees! You are making them beg for "all A's". That is not a survey then.
While I had successful transaction, I refuse to give you a blanket too score. I did have to bring the car back for something to be replaced so that prevents me from giving them too honors. Stop having your employees beg for a review. Life doesn't work that way. Change that policy!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelly M.Portland, ME015Sep 17, 2021
I would definitely not recommend Berlin City Honda. The customer service is awful, particularly by all the Service Reception employees (watch out for Dillon - he is the rudest one there. He told me if I didn't want to wait so long for my car to be finished, I could go out to the waiting room and tell all other customers their cars have to wait...he eventually just started ignoring me when I talked to him - like a child. Who is the customer here? Do your job!)...I've brought my car there multiple times, serviced by many rude employees, very long wait times and higher prices than any other Honda dealerships I've been to.
I go there for convenience because I am in the Portland area, but I highly recommend Prime Honda in Saco - it's like a night to day experience compared to Berlin, and 100% worth the extra drive.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
