Love stopping here for drinks!! They have a huge selection and there is always something new for us to try!
The bartender was friendly and the place was very clean and nice. Not too loud so you're able to hold a convo!
I'm not a huge beer fan and there's still always something yummy for me to have. Will definitely be backHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 10, 2023
The place for beer in South Reno. Always 60ish beers on tap as well as a great selection of mixed drinks, bourbons and whiskeys, and wine (though I don't know about the selection). The owners are very involved in the craft beer scene in town and host/sponsor the Biggest Little Invitational beer festival (a must do if you enjoy craft beer - normally in June).
No food but you're welcome to bring in anything you'd like, and there are a bunch choices in the vicinity.
Follow them on FB and you'll be in the know for special events, Pint & Pie, food vendors, quiz nights, bourbon flights, etc. Good happy hour as well.
If you enjoy craft beer this is the place to drink it. Seems they have a good relationship with the distributors and Russian River as there is always quality beer under the tap. Cheers!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4353130010996Oct 30, 2023Updated review
I don't get out much, but when I do I always enjoy hanging at Beer NV. Now I'm shocked I've never written a review of this bar before but I have an idea as to why. I probably didn't want anyone to know that while Beer NV specializes in beers, with several dozen on tap, they also have a stellar array of spirits and cocktails too!
The spirits selection is more than just a few bottles behind the bar. They have some real great ones and the prices are out of this world too. The selection changes constantly so visiting often is recommended, and they do special tasting flights with highly allocated bottles too.
I stopped in for a later afternoon dram and enjoyed blue run rye, balvenie 16 pineau cask (whoa that was good), a chai old fashioned, and a wildly unique Japanese rice/sugar cane rum that had the craziest savory umami nose and flavor! I love the staff here too, especially Anna Maye. They're friendly knowledgeable and just plain fun.
This is the best bar in south Reno for sure. Make yourself a regular and thank me later!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0Jun 4, 2021Previous reviewIf you're a cocktail or spirits drinker, please visit Beer NV!
You read that right. It's not just beer and cider here. This is a full bar bar AND they take their spirits and cocktails very seriously!
This is nothing new, and you know that if you've been coming here for a while. But if you've passed this place or read some reviews and somehow missed this fact, I'm sharing it now, loudly, so everyone knows this is a super cool spot for drinkers of all kinds.
We stopped by on Memorial Day and found a pretty chill and quiet scene. We got a few seats at one of the high top communal tables and first thing I noticed was that the spirits corner had moved up front.
I scanned the cocktail menu and orders up a tequila cocktail that's a summery riff on a corpse reviver and then poked my head around the corner to see what they had to offer. Not only did I find the great spirits selection I've come to know here I also found a feature board with not one, but two amazing allocated whiskies being poured at amazingly appropriate prices AND another specialty cocktail with Japanese whisky too.
The tequila drink was good, but it drank a little on the heavy side. I was surprised it was served up in a coupe (fancy glass) because reading the description I thought it would be served over ice. The menu may have mentioned that and I overlooked it. I actually think it would've been more enjoyable on ice because I wanted it to dilute a bit.
The Japanese whisky cocktail was delicious and refreshing. Served over, it was like a whisky sour flavored with umeshu or sweet plumb wine, and it was delicious.
The group also enjoyed the bourbon and watermelon cocktail as well. Perfect summer drink with a hint of mint!
Gosh. Writing this review has me wanting to go right now!May 20, 2019Previous reviewStill five star fun at BeerNV!
If you know me, you know I unfortunately can't enjoy beer anymore. So why am I at a beer bar? Because BeerNV is so much more!
First off, they have one of the winningest bartender in Northern Nevada! Anna Maye's charm, incredible sense of humor and talent shine throughout the cocktail menu and spirit selection! Yes. I said it. Cocktail and spirits program at a beer bar, and it rocks because of this talented lady!
This visit we checked out some new cocktails featuring seasonal flavors and Ferino distillery Canella and the Fernet. Pear and Canella... mmmm!
Not to say Anna Maye's knowledge of beer is light, but @craftbrewbabe (follow that one on Instagram) is an encyclopedia! You'd be hard pressed to run a question by her or ask for a suggestion, and she'll open your eyes to a new side of beer! Her passion runs deep! If I'm at the bar I always learn something.
Though she didn't steer me toward them, this go round I couldn't help but try two entries on the beer bar, a tequila lime gose and a dry wine cask aged cider. That's a testament to the solid description on the digital boards because we ordered by them alone!
menu board.
Beer NV has always been an amazing addition to South Reno and it always reminds me why it's one of my all time faves!Nov 10, 2016Previous reviewFollow @craftbrewbabe on Instagram and she'll open your eyes to a new side of beer! Better yet, go visit her at BeerNV and let her tell you about all of her faves! She's a wealth of knowledge, and if the Insta handle didn't give it away, she's passionate about beer.
But sadly I don't drink beer anymore. So what's a guy like me doing in a bar like this? Well, they're a bar! A full bar! A full bar with a pretty solid selection of spirits unclud bf several whiskies, mezcals, tequila and more! They even have a craft cocktail menu too, made up by some really talented folks!
Last night was really fun. My buddy got to enjoy some beers and I had my pick off the whiskey shelf with some Belle Meade and Monkey Shoulder.
Beer NV has been an amazing addition to South Reno and it's becoming one of my all time faves!Sep 29, 2015Previous reviewLittle known fact... About 8 years ago I was inspired by a bar in FL called World of Beers, which had a considerable tap selection and a number of large glass front coolers with an enormous selection of bottles. All of these were set so far back from the customers at the bar that menus were necessary to know what was available, but the menus read like a beer bible, and so they became prime for the taking. Thinking about the issues I decided that WOB needed a digital menu, perhaps on an iPad, and a digital loyalty program to go along with it, and I figured they could monetize this by selling ads featuring suggested brews. Essentially it was the idea for Untapp'd, which came out several years later. Ahhhh.
Well I tell this story because Beer NV has this issue solved by having 60 taps all displayed on big, visible LCD screens! They tell you the name of the beer, brewery, where it's from, ABV and the price! Heck they even show you how close the keg is to kicking! The screens also scroll social media postings from the bar too, which is really fun when you've been drinking.
The selection of brews is really great, and they offer a few things in each category, and are constantly adding to the lineup too. I really love that you can order 3-4oz tasters, 8oz and 16oz pours of the beers. It lets you try so many at a time and makes for a really fun evening.
I'm so happy to have this kind of place minutes from my front door. It's a wonderful addition to Reno! - Jun 8, 2023
Absolutely love this place! First time here and visited for Reno Food Week. Tried both featured cocktails and while they were both good my favorite was the Amity Island-so delicious! With 60 beers on tap to choose from there is something for everyone! Service was great, love the location and their patio is awesome! Big fan!

Celebrating Reno Food Week with my first stop at Beer NV. Over 60 beers on tap, full bar and signature cocktails, this place is serving up good times. Friendly staff, taproom decor & the game playing on the TVs rounds out a great place to hangout. Love the pooch friendly patio too. While they don't serve food here, they do allow outside food to enjoy with your beverage. Get out and support your favorite local businesses with a pre-game or post-game stop at Beer NV.

Great selection of beers! Saw their menu on untappd so after a long drive decided to pop in for a couple tasters. This was the tale end of my cross country voyage. Had my fair share of samplers and grabbed a couple cans to go. Honestly, I didn't really want to leave. Arrived at opening a little after noon and had the place to myself. Server was top notch she was amazing.

I usually have a great experience here. Everyone is so friendly there and I like the different beer selections as well. I try to have a different drink each time I go.
I like the environment of this spot, it's pretty relaxed and they don't play loud music like other bars. You don't need to yell to order your drinks. I highly recommend this place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 310562Jun 17, 2023
Always a great destination. Patio seating. Friendly service. If you can't find your beer here, it doesn't exist... So I enjoyed the prosecco. Really appreciate that the current cocktail menu names all reference famous lines from Jaws!!
