About the Business
Beer House Cafe is a neighborhood restaurant in East Stroudsburg,PA . serving dinner and breakfast and lunch , and brunch. We serve familiar food, prepared thoughtfully, in a space where everyone is welcome. We work from an international pantry (tahini, Harissa, curry) combined with farmer's market produce and bodega standards (bacon egg cheese on a croissant . Fresh Halal burgers made to order , grilled cheese , drunken noodle salad , ) we have a wide variety of vegan and gluten free choices It’s food meant not to impress you, only to bring your taste buds joy. The best part is, it does both. This menu is accessible luxury, everyday indulgence. This translates as comfort classics like meatloaf and mac and cheese, as well as entrees such as chicken pot pie , half roasted chicken to kofta kabobs .

Q:
Do they have vegan and gluten free options?
A:
Yes! They have a selection of vegan and gluten free options that are tastier than most places in the Poconos. You can substitute a gluten free wrap for any sandwich.

This place is SUCH a cute cafe, I loved it. The servers are so nice and polite, it made the overall experience so much better. They also had really cute decorations up for Christmas!
I got the shakshouka. It was so good! The tomatoes/ other veggies were so flavourful, and eggs poached to perfection. The feta cheese and cilantro on top complimented the dish so well. It was served with some zaatar bread, making it even better!
We also got the chocolate chip pancakes - AMAZING. They're super filling as well! Cooked to perfection, and you literally don't need any additional syrup to eat it with.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kamilah B.New Castle County, DE54221129Jun 11, 2021
I had the Mac and cheese burger. It was heaven. The burger itself has such a good flavor to it. The home fries were $3 extra bc I didn't want a bag of chips. They were cooked well, but not seasoned. I didn't care. LOL. I also had the dirty chai white Russian, which was tasty and strong.
Hubs enjoyed his Shepherd salad and side of Mac and cheese. The shrimp and lobster chowder was just ok.
They don't carry ginger ale, so the mix sprite and diet coke. Yeah, that doesn't work.
Service was good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 28, 2019
Stopped by here for dinner on a Friday night as the place had available outside seating on a nice day. Was immediately greeted by the hostess and given menus + water for our dog.
Draft list is surprisingly small for a beer cafe, however the bottle selection is extensive. Started off with a bottle of Dogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo ($6.75) to pair with my Chicken Plate ($16.50). The meal is a half roast of chicken placed on top of a thick pool of labne with a small vegetable medley to the side. Chicken is surprisngly tender and well seasoned - got a little dry towards the thicker parts but it's helped by the tangy labne.
Server is accommodating as I was able to get the beers from the fridge a couple times at my own leisure. Definitely recommend this restaurant from the variety of options on the block.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 296163119Apr 10, 2021
Such a fantastic establishment.
The staff's fantastic and welcoming, and the food is made with care and delectable.
And their mocha coffee is tremendous. Absolutely stellar on every level.
Highly recommended!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 10, 2019
After passing this place so many times, I am glad I finally ventured in. The aesthetic I warm, welcoming, and a bit swanky. The menu had a great variety for all preferences. The staff were friendly and attentive and helped me decide what to get.... I finally chose the ALT wrap with grilled chicken, and my second time there I got the chicken quesadilla... they were both delish!!!! Great flavors for sure!
Definitely worth a visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 31, 2018
(3.5 stars) Love the setup of this place. You can get a good cup of coffee to go, pick up some beer, grab a drink at the bar, sit at a communal table with a large gathering, eat a meal at the tables, or relax in the mini lounge area. It's got a little bit of everything and the service is friendly.
Sadly though I'm not that crazy about the food. The menu is extensive and super affordable. It all sounds super tasty and there should be something for everyone, but the omelette and potatoes I had were overwhelmingly oily, the potatoes to the point where I was pretty timid when eating them. It was a large portion though and there was a pretty impressive selection of fix-ins.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 77275413Sep 6, 2018
Cozy bar/coffee shop place in the downtown area. When you walk in, there is a huge refrigerator of craft beer and a large bar area which gives you a good idea of what to expect. Laid back vibe from the minute you walk in. We sat at the bar as there was live music going on and the place was fairly crowded for a Sunday afternoon. Service was ok and they did charge for a Diet coke refill FYI.
Menu is eclectic which was nice. I got the Algerian Vegan Tacos which I liked. Good seasoning, flavor, and with a little spicy kick. My husband got the burger which he was good, not great. I wasn't in the mood to get anything to drink but they have cocktails, beers on tap, wine, and the beer fridge so I think you can get pretty much anything you want here.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jillian D.Stroudsburg, PA2174Aug 29, 2021
I had dinner last night with my mother here, and everything was amazing! The bartender was super friendly and helpful, the food was amazing.
One thing I'll add for people who care, they don't have any cable, so no sports or anything here, but the bartender was nice enough to let us pick a YouTube channel to watch on the TVs.
I had the vegan tacos and they were literally the best vegan tacos I've ever had, I'll definitely be coming back for those!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - S M.Perkasie, PA053Dec 24, 2021
We drove up from Bucks County for brunch and we were not disappointed. Our hostess, barista, waitress, bartender was AMAZING. That young lady was multitasking to the max while providing exceptional customer service. Polite beyond measure.
The food was delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shaji K.Fort Snelling, MN05311Aug 26, 2021
We came in for breakfast on a weekday and ordered the early bird plate, a couple croissants, and the banana Nutella pancakes. Now, in terms of food, the Bombay homefries had a great unique flavor, the pancakes were delicious and had a generous serving of Nutella, and the Algerian latte was very good.
Now, the service on the other hand was an entirely different story. 20 minutes after ordering we were told that they did not have croissants. And they were confused about what we ordered as well. Finally, 40 minutes after ordering (by which time the coffee had become colder than the lukewarm it began as) our order arrived and we had to make a few additional corrections. This was all despite being the only people at the place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
