Sunday happy hour for that 50% off pizzas!
It almost doesn't matter which half off pizza you choose because it's all so cheap!
Wheeler Hut: Get!!
I loved this one so much as the crispy pizza crust combined with the juicy mushrooms is like a match made in heaven.
Big Bird: Maybe?
Not sure if it was just this pizza but it was a lot softer and the crust more flaccid. It was still enjoyable but I preferred the above pizza way more.
Something I didn't know was also the honey+chili oil combo which blew my mind.... make sure to ask for this if they don't already give it to you.
$10 steins are also amazing (it's two pints basically) but you really have to commit to drinking that much.
Our server was super super friendly and fun so that just made dinner so much better too.

Relaxed restaurant with bar favorites. Came here for dinner and made a last minute reservation online. Bar seating and tables available. Service was very friendly. Credit cards accepted. Restrooms were available outside of the restaurant and are single occupant. We shared a Canadian pizza which came with maple syrup for the sauce as well as wings. The wings tasted healthier than your average bar and were very flavorful. The pizza was good, although some may find putting maple syrup on it a bit off putting. Full bar available. It is good for big groups and kids. Overall atmosphere is chill and casual.

Arriving in Banff, my expectations for food weren't high, but this place pleasantly surprised me. We opted for the wheeler hut pizza and viva la pizza (half with no sausage). If you're a fan of mushroom pizza, the wheeler hut pizza is a must-try!
A delightful touch was their provision of chili oil and honey. A tip worth noting: mix the chili oil and honey to create a dipping sauce that adds an incredible flavor dimension. Trust me, you'll appreciate this tip later.
To cap off the night, we indulged in a salted caramel brownie, beautifully presented on a small skillet.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1570156Aug 20, 2023
Visited the tavern on a Sunday afternoon and my family and I chose to sit outside on their very nice patio. This tavern is known for their pizzas and I see why! The
waitress provided excellent service and went out of her way to make sure that the dip I ordered was vegan.
I ordered the Mediterranean pizza which had a v+ option replacing the vegan cheese. It was amazing! Seriously that's the best vegan pizza I've had in a while. I liked that the menu was very vegan friendly providing v+ options for other items on the menu as well. I also ordered a mint mojito kombucha which was really good! Please visit if you're in the area. Definitely worth it!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon W.Sandpoint, ID512May 2, 2024
Cool atmosphere, we just had a few beers and watched the hockey game. The service was great and it was packed with people.

Came by on a Sunday afternoon for a round of drinks and a light bite. We ordered a margherita pizza ($23.50) to share, plus the 'Jam Rock' blackberry sour (The Establishment) and "What the Huck' Huckleberry Ale (Fernie Brewing Co.) among other drinks. The pizza was below average, and while the drinks were good, everything was quite expensive... $15 for a pint that wasn't even on draft. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about all the beers.

We stumbled upon this place when we were trying to go next door to the vegan friendly restaurant, Nourish and to our dismal it was closed and I was sad. Well in all fairness, it was Christmas so I don't blame the restaurant to have been closed and for Google to give us incorrect info. As we were walking back, we saw this place, looked at the menu and they said they have vegan cheese and could make most dishes vegan - I was sold! When we walked in- luckily there wasn't any wait - I loved the vibe immediately! It does give away that tavern kinda vibe with most tables drinking beer in a stein. (It was bigger than my face. ) We ordered garlic fingers, stein of beer and Mediterranean pizza. Everything was absolutely so delicious. But what sets this place apart is the staff. They were awesome, they talked to us, spent a few mins asking about our trip, made recommendations for what people generally like at the restaurant etc. I will most certainly go back here if I'm ever in Banff. P.S when we asked, they said the wait is generally 2hr long in summers - plan accordingly :)

This was probably our favorite pizza in Banff!
Reservations:
You NEED a reservation here. They are so busy that if you just walk in they will probably tell you they don't have the room. So do yourself a favor and pull up OpenTable now to book you a table.
Food:
Beer - great selection of beer from allover the place.
Caesar Salad - really good with plenty to share. They brought a big bowl of salad with a few plates for us to split it.
Pizza - your "must get" is any of the pizzas. But specifically, you MUST try it with the chili oil and honey that they provide. That was the true game changer.
Overall:
I'd tell anyone going to Banff to come here. This was one of our favorite meals all trip (and pretty decent value for what you get).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amber B.Blue Springs, MO1103980Jun 25, 2023
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bear Street Tavern, a pizza place in Banff, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in many ways.
To begin with, the service was exceptional. We were promptly seated upon arrival, and the attentive staff took care of us throughout the meal. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. The Caesar salad with chicken caught my attention with its generous portion size, but unfortunately, the flavor fell a bit flat. It was slightly bland, and I would have appreciated more seasoning or a bolder dressing to enhance the overall taste.
However, the pizza stole the show. The Three Pigs pizza was an absolute delight. The combination of flavors from the various types of pork toppings created a harmonious and mouthwatering experience. Each bite was packed with deliciousness, and I found myself savoring every moment.
But the real revelation came in the form of the honey and spicy oil dip that they bring to the table. Initially hesitant, I soon discovered that this secret ingredient took the pizza to a whole new level. The balance of sweetness and spiciness was perfect, adding a unique and unforgettable touch. Now that I'm back home, I find myself craving this exceptional dip, as it has become an essential part of my pizza experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dayna R.Buckhead, Atlanta, GA68943Jun 9, 2023Updated review
This pizza was out of this world!! Loved the honey and chili dip. The flavors in this viva La pizza knocked our socks off. One of our fav meals in Banff, and we weren't even in a pizza mood. We're not huge pizza eaters, but this is not to miss!
I liked it so much I realized I posted twiceHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Jun 7, 2023Previous reviewOmg the best pizza hands down. We had the Viva La Pizza, and it was phenomenal esp dipped in the honey/chili pepper sauce they gave us. This pizza will not disappoint. Also summer salad was yummy for fresh veggies, and I really enjoyed the Huckleberry craft beer. Sit outside at front patio if u can. Good ppl watching
