Recommended by local Yelper Queenie (thanks!), we decided to explore this unique historic neighborhood and stop in for a beverage. The service was fun and friendly and they whipped up some fine coffee beverages for us. All the way in back, is a old and functioning coffee roaster, ready to make proper coffee instead of burnt swill at another chain that shall remain nameless. Truly, this is a wonderful local spot which I also now highly recommend. I did note that the art displayed and for sale on the walls was a bit on the dark side but perhaps they rotate it periodically?

Did you know the road right in front of this coffee shop is the original highway leading west? For years, people passed by here on their way to parts unknown like Missouri, Las Vegas, and California. Perhaps they stopped by here for an espresso to go? OK. Perhaps not.

Then, when the B&O railroad was built, with a huge station just outside to the right (as you leave this establishment), the venerable stagecoach method of travel became obsolete overnight. Suddenly, steam trains were all the rage and the road became a thing of the past. I encourage you to also contemplate the history as you sip on a delicious beverage.

Ordered a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese and a stuffed pretzel. Drinks came out nice and quick, Chai was good, the Aztec Chocolate a tad sweet but nice flavor.

After 50 minutes, food never arrived so checked with the cashier. Apparently was left behind the counter, cold and stiff as a cardboard. They gave it to us anyway.

As another yelper pointed out, staff was quite unapologetic.

I asked for my money back and got out...

This coffee place is a "throwback" in the way of its design. Its located on Main Street in the heart of Old Towne Ellicott City, and is in walking distance from the parking area that sits across the creek by a small river. The coffee choices are great, yet the snacks seem to be even greater! The latter of which was a major surprise (the coconut snowballs are a must-try).

If I was disappointed in one thing, it was that this location didn't have WiFi access. The barista indicated that I had to bogart the signal from another server at a nearby business. I know that this isn't Starbucks, yet this isn't a on-the-fringe Mom & Pop venue either. If the quality of the coffee product is good enough to where it can be produced on a $4,000 industrial machine, can't you at least pay for an internet provider???

Other than that, I love the location, yet if you are looking for parking, you'll either have to try across the street or get really lucky by parking on the street. Nonetheless, I like what Bean Hollow has here with its product, in addition to the cool baristas and really relaxed atmosphere.

This place is such a great place to stop for a coffee or a ice cream break while roaming old Ellicott city.

The shop really embrace all that is wonderful about old Ellicott city. The rustic yet modern environment of the store makes you feel like you've stepped into a coffee shop custom made just for the historical city. The shop is covered with chalk art and wordings. In fact, their ice cream menu is written all I chalk.

As far as the ice cream goes, they serve fresh hand dipped ice cream. I ordered the orange cream. The ice cream is perfect for a warm day and you can eat a lot of it because the ice cream is not overly sweet. In fact, the ice cream is subtle not only in flavor but also subtle in the sweetness factor.

They also offer great pastries. Their pastries are huge. A coconut ball is the size of my fist. They also offer a wide range of tea flavors.

The best part of this shop is that right when you step out, you are right back onto the main streets of the ever beautiful historic Ellicott city roads.

Seriously...can you say TOO CUTE FOR WORDS! I loved this place - the amount of Fall flavored drinks they have is amazing and their staff is super helpful!!

I was so pumped that they had Pumpkin chai, I didn't even know what to do with myself and then they also have a sandwich selection that is pretty fabulous. I am a huge fan of egg salad sandwiches and they did a great job!!!

If you are in Ellicott City...stop on by for a coffee, tea, sandwich or even a beef bar - if you don't know what it is - you need to stop by and check it out!

      So many fall choices!!! Yum

I visited bean hollow for a meeting and of course I ended up ordering food. I kept it simple and got the spinach and feta pretzel + blueberry donut. (Had to spend a minimum 5$ to use my card)

The spinach and feta pretzel was nothing short of great. It was exploding with spinachy goodness. Very creamy! The pretzel was also cooked just right and soooo soft. I didn't get as much of the feta flavor as I would've like. I'm a cheese-aholic!! I'll be sure to ask for more next time.

The blueberry donut was great as well and very fresh. Tasted like they made them on the spot!

Aslo this is the absolute cutest part of Ellicott city on Main Street. It's a small little town with lots of mom & pop shops. Grab your pretzel and go exploring!

This cafe is nestled in old ellicot city's historic district, it's cute, cozy and hip! I can tell by sitting there observing that is where all the neighborhood hipsters hang! I was greeted promptly, and the hostess was patient with my indecisiveness. I finally decided on the chicken fajita wrap! It's sounded yummy! Chicken, pesto, feta, peppers and onions . It was tasty ,but nothing to rave about! I was disappointing in the meat, it was processed chicken, it looked good but, lacked substance! ! There was not much to select from so decided not to try anything else!

My husband and I went in for a quick bite, he got the fajita wrap and a Latte and I got the Caprese sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious. They were very satisfying and packed with flavor. The pesto in the sandwich tasted like they made it from scratch.

I usually dislike coffee but I took plenty of sips of my husbands latte, it was foamy and just enough sweetness and bitterness. The cashier was very friendly and accommodating, good job Bean Hollow! We will definitely be back :)

Bean Hollow is a great, warm coffee shop located at the very bottom end of Main St, Ellicott. The shop has an inviting atmosphere and service is nice. I'm not sure if there is Wi-Fi, but it is definitely a decent place to get work done.

The coffee-based drinks are good too; it's not my favorite coffee joint but your mileage may vary depending on how you like your coffee.

This place is located off main street in old ellicott city. They make delicious combinations and limited editions only available during the season. I ordered a mocha coffee with ice and it was great. The barista was friendly and the atmosphere was homey.
