This review is based on my communications via email with Cliff Keener.
I was in the market to buy a new car and I like to do all of my communications via email. I reached out to Cliff and he got back to me quickly with a solid OTD number for a new vehicle. His price was very competitive but unfortunately not the lowest I received so I went with another dealer instead. However, Cliff was very responsive the whole time and was great to work with. He took the time to break all the numbers down for me and explain everything. I hope to work with him again in the future when I search for another new vehicle.

Drove down to SC from RI and had to get an oil change. They were quick and helpful and excellent at communicating during the process since I showed up without an appoinment on Monday morning.

Staff made it so very easy to purchase my leased Mazda vehicle. I had leased a 2020 Mazda 6 in the State of FL during late Sept. 2020 and was informed by Mazda finance company that "purchase of vehicle" needed to be completed in North Carolina, which is the state that I currently reside, and the vehicle is registered. After 1st reaching out to a Mazda Dealership in Wilmington, NC and finding the operation not customer friendly, I contacted Beach Mazda, in Myrtle Beach, SC. This dealership is closer to where I reside than Wilmington NC and as I quickly determined very "customer friendly". The Beach Mazda Business Manager, Todd Spiehler, could not have been more helpful and accommodating in making this transaction stress-free. A few days later, I received an email from Beach Automotive President, Wes Grubbs, thanking me for doing business with them!!! Went in to get my Mazda car serviced because they emailed me a "Summer Service Special" and when i read what they provide and for how much, it seemed reasonable. So I called and made an appointment to bring in the car. The service time was reasonable, ad they turned it around in 1-hour. I'm thinking this is looking good so far. But when I went in to pay the bill, it was considerably more than the coupon price because of two miscellaneous charges they add on to the bill. The first one is a Document Storage fee...what! The second one was for "shop overhead" that is based on a charge equal to 16.5% of the cost of labor + parts! So while the coupon they mailed was an attractive price, with all these hidden charges, Plus not even charged the price that was on the coupon that I'm sure was due to some more "small print," I didn't save anything substantial when compared to my normal mechanic. I'll be going back to him for my next service.

I found myself needing another vehicle sooner than I expected due to an accident. In this market and economy right now..... I was NOT looking forward to shopping for a car all over again for fear of not finding anything I "loved" AND "in budget".
I have had my eye on the Mazda line of SUVs in the past but had not gone on any test drives. I decided to call up to Beach Mazda and ask some general questions and talk about availability of models and colors.
Monica in internet sales was extremely pleasant to work with and super patient with all of my questions. She got me lined up with a date and time to swing by.
I met up with Bob Bartels and we hit it off immediately. He could tell I knew what I wanted in a vehicle, what research I had done, what I wasn't willing to settle for and my budget constraints.
He put me in the white 2021 CX-5 Touring I had seen online and was most interested in and we took a drive. I have owned everything from Mercedes, Jeeps, VWs, Fords, Chevrolets, Nissans and more and this CX-5 was by far the most luxurious drive and experience of them all.
I knew when I parked it after the test drive and went over all the features, that this was the vehicle I wanted and was the best option for my children's safety as well.
The entire purchase experience was ZERO stress and straight forward. The communication I received from Bob and the rest of the staff was top notch compared to every other vehicle purchase I've ever made.
They made my children and I feel welcome and truly went above and beyond to make the purchase experience as simple as possible.

After leaving Mazda and writing a review, I received a call from the service manager. He was very apologetic and refunded me. It turns out they are concerned about customer service. They recognized a problem and fixed it. Cannot ask for more.

One is they required me to buy an insurance policy for fender benders that did not break the paint. Worthless! Next they said the first oil change was free. Seems reasonable. So I did not get my first oil change there because I was out of town. Next oil change was not free because it was not the first. Oil change cost more than the one I received else where also. Now it was my first oil change at the mazda. But the point is; if you offer one free oil change, it should come anytime. That is the way any dealership does it where I come from. Just really cheap considering I bought the car during the pandemic and paid premium price. Not to mention it was a $40,000 car.

Had my 1995 Mazda RX-7 in for a cruise control repair today. The staff was excellent and although they did not repair it today they did everything they could considering it's age. I will be ordering the part elsewhere as they could not even get it but they will certainly see me again to do the install. I highly recommend them.
