As far as self-serve gyms go, you can't get much better than this. They offer decently priced monthly or weekly passes for vacationers.

All the cardio machines (treadmills & ellipticals) are modern and have TVs attached to each one so you can watch whatever you want. The circuit machines are great and they have a well-balanced variety of arm and leg machines.

There's also a huge selection of weights, balls, mats, benches, and pulley-type machines.

It's open 24 hours and security seems pretty good with cameras both inside and out and a secured entrance.

Nice, clean weight room (good gym if that's all that you're looking for), but very limited space for any stretching or free space exercises (lunges, etc.). Limited mirrors, no classes or anything like that. They do offer personal training, though and the owner is super nice! Day passes are $10.

Great rates! Students get a discount. The rates are as follows: $10 a day, $25 a week, $55 a month, $130 for 3 months. No joining fee. The staff was extremely welcoming. Don't let the dingy building fool you. Inside they have everything you will need. All cardio machines have their own tv and include more than 30 channels. They have every piece of equipment I have ever needed! I didn't feel unwelcomed by a crew of sweaty huffing macho men.

The bathrooms are small but extremely clean and include plenty of items you can use to freshen up if you have left something at home.

This is a really great place! I was on vacation for a couple of weeks and needed to find a place to get in some exercise. I tried to research some gyms in the area online and found two that seemed comparable based on what I had read. They were this place and the Fitness Factory up the street so I went to check them both out. While the gentleman at the Fitness Factory was very nice, the place itself wasn't very appealing. Also, I was told that they did offer 24 hour access, but that they were out of access devices at the time so I would be limited to working out during the gym hours posted, which were similar to a bankers business hours and would not work for me. After that I went to Phy-sique Fitness and after meeting and speaking with Don, the owner, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for.
Phy-sique Fitness is a very clean facility and has great workout equipment. I was only interested in doing a lot of different types of cardio and a little bit of weight lifting with machines, but they had enough to accommodate serious weight lifters. The place was bright, warm, and welcoming, which helps when you go to work out because if you go someplace dingy and unappealing then you don't really feel like staying long, and provided 24 hour access. I was also very surprised when I went into the women's restroom. Not only was it very clean, but there were other amenities like a blow dryer and various types of women's toiletries available for free.
I was on vacation, but I travel often for work and have checked out other gyms and must say that this place is definitely a good find. Don, the owner, was such a nice and friendly guy and was so attentive to his patrons, both regulars and visitors. The price was $10 a day or $25 a week so I originally signed up for a week for $25 and went quite frequently. However, I realized that I would be in town for a few more days and went to talk to Don about extending my membership. When we got to talking he told me to go ahead work out for those extra days free of charge. Who does that? What a great guy and a great place! If you are looking for a gym in town it is conveniently located and offers everything at a great price so there is really no need to look further!

I have been searching for gyms in the Gulf Shores area, and Beach Fit Fitness was highly rated. I went to their website, and needed to send email to find rates. Which is totally fine. What isn't fine is that I didn't even receive a response. You guys must be so busy, or so many members that you aren't interested in future business..? Hhmmm, not likely. Very poor customer service, or lazy staff. Big letdown..

This is the 2nd vacation at Gulf Shores where we have used this fitness facility. Don Williamson is terrific in giving us reasonable rates but also has a wealth of restaurant recommendations that we tried out and felt we would go back. The gym is clean, organized, uncluttered, and well maintained equipment. It is as good or better than the gym I have been going to in Dallas. We have been going to the Gulf for years. This has been a great discovery. Hope to be back next year..
