My partner and I crashed here for one night after driving 7 hrs from LA to visit Zion National Park. We were exhausted and just needed somewhere to rest before our long drive back home. Baymont Inn was the nicest, cheapest hotel we could find in St. George. Upon check-in, the staff was extremely nice and helpful (I believe Bill was the one who checked us in). He had great customer service. The rooms were also very nice, spacious, clean & quiet. The free continental breakfast in the morning was also a nice bonus to our stay.
The only negative experience I had was with one of the employees (Pat). The hotel has a strict 'no pets policy'. He saw me walking my dog in the morning, and almost yelled at me, and threatened that he'd charge me an extra $375 for bringing my dog. I told him she was a registered service dog and that I showed my paperwork to Bill when I first checked in the night before. He didn't seem to believe me and he was still raising his voice at me & threatening me. He eventually straighten things out a few hours later with Bill. But I just felt like he could have handled the situation in a more professional manner. I travel a lot so I've been to several hotels with my service dog, and that has never happened. I would have given this hotel 4 stars if it wasn't for that incident. Besides that, everything else was great.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie N.Midvale, UT233910Apr 5, 2015
Stayed here for a couple weeks with my army unit just a little bit ago. The place smells absolutely horrible. The girl that I shared a room with and myself went to Walmart and bough a plug in.. Two weeks, better try to make it better right? It was dirty, the carpet was very dirty. You just feel dirty when you walk in.
The breakfast is so-so, I agree with another reviewer on here, the sausage is nasty! I couldn't tell if it was watered down or under cooked or what. It just was not right.
The room had a fridge and microwave which was very nice considering the long stay, went and bought some food so we didn't have to order out every single night, that was a plus.
I've hear a lot of complaints from others from the front desk although I had a pleasant experience with pat, everytime I saw him, he's a funny guy and pretty nice.
The pool area is kind of strange, not inviting though.
If I had a choice and not told by the army, I would definitely spend a little more money and go elsewhere in this town.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ali A.Aliso Viejo, CA0101Jan 4, 2015
Absolute worst hotel in St. George. Way run down and ghetto.
We stay in St. George at least 2 times a year as we drive to Colorado and I can say without question that this is the worst.
After checking in at midnight, we had to go all the way back downstairs because the handle on our door was broken and wouldn't open. Larry the night manager (and only redemptive part of the place) did take care of us and gave us another room. Great.
Except this room had a short in the bathroom and the light would pop on then go off and make weird electrical noises. Larry offered us another room, but by this time it's 1am and the kids are asleep, so it's not an option. He brought us a flashlight so we could use it at night, and said he would tell the GM.
The next morning when we asked for an extended check out PAT was not having it, and told us the best he could do was 1130. Then when we asked him if Larry left a note, he said he did, but since we got a triple A discount when we checked in, he couldn't do anything for us. I guess this means if you get a triple A, the lights don't need to work and it's ok that you have to use a flashlight to take your kids to the bathroom in the middle of the night. After arguing with him for a bit, he agreed to take "8 dollars" off the price. Whatever, let's move on.
We let the kids jump in the pool before we head out and when we go to check out, Pat said he went into our room and the light works just fine. A) I showed Larry the previous night that it did not and B) we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door so they wouldn't clean the room before we left so not only is this creepy but probably illegal.
When my wife mentioned that she was going to leave a review because of the horrible customer service, Pat said he wasn't going to give us the "8 dollar" discount because we could have either 'one or the other..' wow. keep the 8 bucks.
Like the previous reviewer said, if you see the Baymont Inn sign, keep moving..Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steven L.Kingman, AZ858Mar 27, 2015
Dirty little dumpy hotel. The breakfast is a joke! Hot breakfast consisted of sausage. Nasty sausage! That's it, no eggs, bacon, or anything else. There was a broken waffle maker. The dining area is dirty with worn-out chairs. The room is okay with dirty carpets and a really old television. I would not recommend this hotel

Average motel with average breakfast, dirty carpets, uneven maid service, pleasant front desk. Our air conditioner sometimes wouldn't start and when started never stayed on. It wouldn't stay on long enough to cool down the whole room. We followed the instructions from the front desk but the main thing we were told was they've never had a complaint from this room. I'm not saying frigid, either. 72 feels nice and cool in this dry climate. And believe me, folks, this is air conditioner country. We were here two nights and they had ample opportunity to make any repair or adjustment needed. We think they just don't want to pay to run air conditioners all the time. See a Baymont Inn sign? Keep moving.
