Bay Street Deli

Came here looking for a hot lobster roll and Rhode Island clam chowder. Both items did NOT disappoint. Fresh, flavorful, and so so good. Really kind, friendly service as well. Minimal seating inside but there are a few tables outside or you can take it to go and eat by the water. The perfect no frills seafood shop that is sure to please.

My favorite hot lobster roll in the area. Very straightforward, warm, delicious and worth every penny. Love getting it taken out to eat across the street on the water. Great clam chowder too!! Recommend for an easy lobster roll fix if you are in the area.

First of all, I don't even like sandwiches but this place makes the best sandwiches ever, breakfast ones too (served until ~11am). I love ham but Bay Street Deli really made me realize it because in fact, they have the best ham you'll ever have in your life -- it's light, fluffy, and so flavorful. Check out the pic (the dunes) and you'll see what I mean but you'll have to taste it too. You can modify it to your liking like I do most of the time with the dunes (but only cos I have a sweeter tooth): white instead of marble bread, provolone instead of Swiss, and honey mustard instead of mustard. You seriously never had a ham or sandwich like this before.

I also love getting breakfast sandwiches here (on a roll). In the morning, when you walk in, you hear the fresh egg shells cracking in the background -- it's a familiar sound like when you're at home and mom or dad make you breakfast, it's a great feeling -- followed by the far away sound of one egg at a time hitting the hot surface straight out of its shell, you can hear it bubble up and freshly fry away, and eventually you finally get the wrapped up sandwich with a swirl of breakfast goodness in the air. I look forward to every season when they reopen.

They also have hot/iced coffee, with flavor options. I love their chocolate chip cookies too, freshly baked every day. Outdoor seating is available for a quick bite. They're sweet people, it's a family-run business, and you can see their love of family in some wall decorations too. Now go get that sandwich!

Ordered lunch takeout for the beach- this place is located on the Bay Street stretch right near the beach. Got a cold lobster roll, and Italian sandwich, cookies, chips, cream soda. The lobster roll was refreshing and not as mayo'd like most places. Convenient and did the job!

This is your good basic deli - open early for breakfast with the usual takeout things and nice selection of the classic stuff you'd expect - right across from the bay. Clean store - food prepped and cooked right in front of you, good staff.

We have had sandwiches at sift (so overrated and honestly I do not get the long lines) and ten sandwiches (fine) and the ocean house when we stayed there (truly just okay) and of course the cooked goose (used to be amazing but the quality has gone down horribly so), I do not understand these reviews.

We have been coming to watch hill for 20 plus years and bay st cafe has always had the best sandwiches. They have baked turkey for their turkey cold cuts and it is THE BEST turkey sandwich I've ever had. I live in nyc and can get any kind of sandwich from anywhere I want and yet, I am thinking of the Carrousel sandwich with baked turkey, sprouts, tomatoes, white bread and a lil Mayo from this cafe -- truly an outstanding sandwich.

From a picky New Yorker, go with Bay st cafe -- it is the best sandwich going (it's not fancy inside bc it doesn't have to bc its food is SO good!)!

By far my favorite lobster roll in Rhode Island! Tons of buttery lobster inside a delicious homemade fresh roll! I'm horrified to read some of these crazy reviews about the poor bread quality because I've never had a bad experience! The bread is fresh and homemade! Absolutely delicious and pairs perfectly for a nice lobster roll. I've had their roast beef grinder on the same type of roll there before and it's honestly delicious! Their New England chowder is probably my favorite as well- tons of clams in every bite! They also serve homemade cookies and you can get them directly from the hot pan which is an awesome perk! I've read reviews about the service and yes some of the workers are miserable but they are efficient and hard workers! Watch hill can be very busy at times so I can totally understand not being 100% perky 24/7. If you love lobster rolls, grinders, chowder and homemade desserts definitely hit up Bay Street Deli!

Great family run business! They have great sandwiches and also the best iced coffee in Watch Hill For the best price!

I really love this place when we come to Watch Hill! One of the best delis ever been to. Sadly I only have couple times per year. I always get the Dunes (#10) and it might be one of best sandwiches ever had. I love a good deli and this was is worth the visit. It's a little pricey but worth it in my opinion. They also have amazing baked goods like cookies and donuts along with Del's lemonade! Must try if your at Watch Hill and want a good lunch. Those reviews I just read aren't accurate. The staff isn't rude not overly friendly but it is what it is. Worth it for the food.

Small cold lobster roll was $15.99. They don't douse the lobster roll in mayo, so that's a huge plus. It was the "purest" lobster roll I've ever had! Very tasty.

At 2pm, there was not much of a line. We got our sandwiches pretty quickly. I just wish there were more spaces to sit!
