Bates Trucking Company

We switched to Bates a year ago after growing increasingly frustrated with our previous provider of many years. We are very happy we did!

While calling around in search of a new company, we were mist impressed with our conversation with Theresa (Teri) Cunningham at Bates. She was pleasant and helpful then and has continued to be so whenever we reach out.

Bates has never missed a pickup (a too common experience with our previous provider) and our driver (lEdmond) always leaves our bins closed and out of the road. He even picked up over 15 bags of leaves and yard debris yesterday! We didn't expect that. We had actually emailed Teri on Sunday night asking about the guideline for large yard debris pickup. Teri emailed Monday morning, saying usually 6 bags is the limit,but that Edmond had just picked them all up!

We have been very happy we switched to Bates Trucking. We recommend you do to (as we have to several neighbors).

We live in Annandale and have for some time. We have used multiple residential trash haulers with limited success. Through June 2022 we had American Disposal who is an unmitigated disaster. The only consistent thing they did was get everything wrong all the time. We switched to Bates and haven't looked back since. We are scheduled for two trash pickups. one recycling and one yard waste pickup per week. Since the end of June they have missed two pickups. Both times we received an email notification that day indicating the missed pickup would be made up the next day which in fact happened. Theresa C is my go to person with any questions or comments. They are a little more expensive but are worth every penny.

This company is garbage - literally! Week in and week out they miss service. They've failed to pick up our trash two weeks in a row now. And, I've watched these folks empty our recycling bin into the same truck as the trash. Clearly they're not recycling anything, which makes me wonder why I'm separating my trash.

At any rate, like others have stated, I'm frankly surprised this company is still in business. We're changing our service tomorrow.

We had Bates for 3 years. During that time
service was spotty at best. There were many weeks that our cans were not emptied. When a truck would come they would drop both the trash and recycling can into the same truck. Bates stopped serving our area and was supposed to pick their cans up. A month later and the cans are still on the curb.

They deserve a "0"... my trash service was in Northern Virginia. I cancelled the service in December, a month Before I moved in January. I'm still being billed for service. I sent an email, called , etc to cancel. Still being billed, they are about to have a lawsuit on their hands for mental distress. I'm on the phone with them right now... on hold( 2 minutes and counting)... about the same issue!

THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE THEIR STUFF TOGETHER!!!

Do not sign up with this trash company. Does not keep records of anything, does not have an online bill pay system, does not keep a record of payments you have made so they try to charge you extra for months you have already paid in full. They do not always collect your trash or recyclables on the days promised. On some days, they collect the trash and leave the trashcan in front and in the middle of my driveway so I cant pull into my own driveway. I would give this company a minus rating if I could. I dont even consider this a company with how disorganized they are. You have been warned. Do not sign up with this company.

These people suck Ass. Been calling them for 2 weeks to have my freaking trash picked up and i never hey an answer til Friday, they said trash would be picked up Saturday, Saturday comes and goes and my trash is still on the curb. Mind you they are quick to deduct payment from my account. I will be looking into another company for pick up.

If I could give Bates Trucking a 0 I certainly would. This is the worst travel removal company I've ever worked with. They did not pick up our trash for the entire month of April, and still continue to send us invoices for that time period. I have contacted them multiple times telling them I will not be paying due to their lack of service but they don't seem to get it. Terrible customer service and complete lack of disregard for their customers. I had to call 3 times to get my trash picked up on any regular week. I would never recommend them. STAY AWAY!!

Terrible trash service. They miss more scheduled pickups than they make, literally.

Customer service terrible because they make promise after promise, and then break promise after promise.

If you need trash and/or recycles picked up regularly so trash doesn't pile up then you don't want to use Bates.
