Would recommend Baran Electric to anyone looking for an electrician in the Hopatcong area. Excellent service, professional & courteous. Reasonable charges for the work we had done. Will definitely use them for future electrical work.

These guys installed an electric charger for us. I got a quote within a few hours virtually (big plus). They came out in a day or two and knocked the job out. The work was very clean and the charger works perfect. Another major perk was flexibility for payment options.

Requested to have a few light switches replaced, as well as a light bulb over my stairway that I can't reach. Thought it was kind of expensive for what was done, but couldn't tell you prices for anything because I never received a work receipt even after asking for it twice. They left me hanging...when replacing the light bulb, a spring popped off the recessed light trim. They never came back to fix it. I would do it myself, but don't have a ladder to reach it over my staircase. It's been this way for months now. Do not recommend.
EDIT:
Since it was requested...here it is...yes, it is true that they came back the day after my initial review was posted. They did not install a new light as the owner just stated...they simply reattached the ring that they originally left hanging. It was also admitted that my initial requests to correct the problem were overlooked. Before hiring this team I got multiple other quotes from local electricians to do the electrical work for my hot tub. Every single one was hemming and hawing about every detail and seemed to turn the job into a huge production. However Baran Electric was head and shoulders above the rest. Not only did they complete the job on a deadline as I wanted it done before Christmas but the work was done so efficiently. I was so pleased with the overall quality of the work. My contractor was there at the same time and he also remarked about how impeccable everything looked at the end. The price was also very reasonable. I will be using them for any electrical projects at my house going forward.

Deeply disappointed, no work has been done, two incompetent electricians came, didn't really bother to understand the issue. Sealed electric pipe with water soluble seal that fell off next day. When communicated ed to the owner Dan, the owner, no reaction was followed. I would not recommend this business as the quality of the service went from good to zero over last few years.

HI. My employees came to try and stop water from entering your electrical panel. Upon arriving, they assessed the situation. They found out that the meter socket was locked by the utility company, and only that utility can open it via a work order and an appointment (could take weeks). On the load side of the meter, they found a fitting buried just beneath the ground. This fitting is not rated to be buried and will let water enter it if it's underground. They moved the dirt from around it, sealed inside it, and let you know that they could not get into the meter and you should find a way to retain the dirt away from the fitting. You were only charged the minimum 1 hour service call, which you happily paid.
No one ever contacted me concerning this issue. I would know, as I personally deal with any contact of this business. I always put my customers' happiness before anything else. Anyone who uses our services or reads our other reviews can clearly see that. Next time you have an issue, how about you actually reach out to someone and talk to them about the problem instead of just lashing out in anger. We appreciate your past business, but please do not contact us again.

On October 10, 2023, I contacted Baran Electric and explained what the problem was with my landline phone and asked if that was in the scope of what they do. They said yes and gave me an appointment for October 16, 2023.
I called them since optimum could not solve the problem remotely and the first Optimum service man who came out did nothing at all except tell me to either buy cordless phones or call an electrician. He advised me to unplug my phone from the wall and plug directly into the modem. I decided that fixing any electrical issue was best instead of buying new phones.
Baran's service man arrived and checked various things but was unable to find the problem. If I wanted my phone to ring for incoming calls I had to remain plugged into the modem to bypass the house wiring. Baran charged their fee of $165.
On October 19th a second Optimum service man came out and solved the problem in less than ten minutes. He discovered some loose screws on a small box in the basement, tightened these for good contact, went back upstairs and took the plug out of the modem and plugged the phone in the wall. He called my landline from his cell phone and it rang. It now worked as it had for years before.
I contacted Baran asking them to refund at least half of the $165 but they didn't. I will never call them for anything again. They don't stand behind their work or care about customer satisfaction. Be guided accordingly.

Yes, thank you for delaying my project two months by complaining to the town that I was using your permits when I was not. Your name was on the permit to do the panel ONLY and because of your crap work I wasn't going to use you for any other part of the project. The other electrical work was started by my GC early without my permission when I asked him to get permits in and I immediately filed additional permits for that work that was intended so maybe check what you're accusing people of first. I was victimized by your shoddy work and then his lies so I will be happy to tell anyone the full story of the crap we have to deal with as paying customers after 2020.

HI. So we aren't even going to bring up the fact that you used my license and permit to get work illegally done in your finished basment? The town had to create a stop work order against your project for using other unlicensed people. I assume you are upset because I'm the only one who did the correct thing and filed paperwork with the town, did the service upgrade correct, and got a passing inspection. Please don't make stuff up and leave negative reviews because of your mistakes and negligence. All of our work is always quality as anyone can see from other reviews. Other businesses beware of this person.

I had a large project and they would only do it in pieces so I had to keep coordinating for them to come back to finish each piece when it was convenient for them, not me. I say them because it was two young sub-contractors or sub-electricians, whatever you want to call them, which I wasn't expecting because it was not discussed that the work would be delegated out during the initial walk-through.
Those two young guys left trash everywhere, electrical trash (old electrical panel), construction trash (wood shavings from drilling holes for wiring), cardboard boxes from the new electrical panel, and their food trash. My house is under construction and unoccupied and I showed up to check on it to find their shoprite lunch on my inside steps. Are you kidding me?
As far as their shoddy work is concerned, I had an initial inspection and nothing was up to code. Outlets that were supposed to be GFCI because they are in the basement were not, outlets that were supposed to be grounded were not, and outlet covers were missing 3 out of 4 screws. New panel wasn't even labeled properly so that's going to be a fun guessing game later.

I received several estimates through Yelp for the electrical outlets not working and central air conditioning controller on the wall stopped working. I called Baran Electric and Dan listened to my immediate need and was able to provide service the following day. The issue was not the outlets, but burned out/very old circuit breakers. All replaced. Now my refrigerator connected to one of the outlets is working again. For the AC controller it's not the electrical so I was advised to call HVAC vendor.
