When my family goes to Bailey's, we typically make two stops. Once to feed my brother and dad, then another after they've picked me up from the train station, so I can eat... and my brother can eat. Again.
Bailey's is a wonderful addition to the growing bustling metropolis (ahem) of Three Oaks. During off-season times, it caters to everyone who knows what great food they have. During sunnier, warmer days, it caters to those in the know and all the tourists who stop by. Their breakfasts are simply divine, serving everything from a "Twisted Oatmeal" swirled with brown sugar and a variety of nuts and dried fruit to delicious blueberry-marscapone crepes to fluffy omelets and other fantastic specials. If you like dessert for breakie, I suggest the towering waffles sandwiched with freshly whipped vanilla cream and strawberries.
The owner and wait staff are incredibly friendly and are happy to rattle off the freshly baked muffins of the day or dish the dirt about where they got their super-cute tables and chairs lining the outdoor seating area. A nice change from the nearby truck stop for breakfast (of course, it has its merits as well), Bailey's is a wonderful surprise in the tiny town of Three Oaks.
*Edit 6/5/07* Bailey's suffered from a fire earlier this year that totally destroyed the restaurant. Luckily, the rumor mill tells me they plan to rebuild! Hooray!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sylvia R.Wheaton, IL102677Jun 13, 2009
Just had a wonderful brunch here and would love to try it for dinner. The service was great - we were greeted by the owner who apologized for the wait (it was only about 10 minutes). The place is cheerful and homey with big chalkboards on the wall with the daily specials which included s'mores pancakes and lobster eggs benedict. The waiters and the owner were attentive (although my dad ordered a glass of milk to be served with the meal which ended up AWOL), glasses refilled in a timely manner.
The food was prepared fresh and was good - my Mom loved her Cobb salad and three of us dined on the Lobster Eggs Benedict that has real lobster. My sister, the coffee snob, gave a thumbs up to the coffee served in giant mugs.
Loves the atmosphere and the staff and enjoyed the food. Would definitely return there. This is a very family friendly place that lets you linger over the meal.
And don't forget to check out the cool shops in town.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan G.Chicago, IL0345Jul 10, 2010Updated review
Bailey's closed last year. The Elm Street Cafe (new place) is pretty similar in menu, prices and service. My husband and I have had lunch here several times and have left feeling full and happy. You can get breakfast all day long which is nice. I do miss the daily specials that Bailey's used to offer which always featured fresh fruit and vegetables from the area. I'm hopeful that as the new restaurant gets some more experience they will branch out a bit.

Anyhow, the staff are friendly and the food has fresh, local ingredients. I am a big fan of the french toast which often is served with fresh peaches, blueberries or strawberries. My husband loves the meatloaf sandwich served on focaccia bread. Our daughter loves pretty much everything on the menu. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and always make you feel welcome. The prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

Bailey's is re-opened and it looks terrific. It still has the old world charm but with a pleasant update. The menu is amazing and the pricing is great, very affordable. You'd pay a lot more in Chicago for this kind of meal. It's worth a trip over!

We too went to Bailey's for brunch this weekend. Some of us had a wonderful Mixed Mess (scrambled eggs, potatos, sausage, covered with sausage gravy - with a pancake). The others had a very nice cobb salad and a southern ruben. All were satisfied. The service was very attentive and we really enjoyed our meal.

Yummy! We had breakfast there on a weekend around noon. It was full, but we still got a nice table. The owner stopped by twice to check on us and we could tell he kept careful track of his restaurant and its patrons. I had a mexican omelet and my husband had birds in a nest (aka bullseye). Portions were good, food was delish. Nothing too out of the ordinary as far as recipes go, but tasty food at a good price. I wish they served Coke instead of Pepsi, but I'm willing to overlook that. The bathrooms are impeccably clean and the women's has charming artwork in it.
