Backwoods Mt Sports: Bicycle guys are cool!

Stopped into Backwoods (Ketchum)this past summer to replace a rear tubeless tire for my MTB. Talked with a tech right away about tires/sizes and what they had on hand. I left my wheel with them to install the tire/stans and a new valve around 10am and they'd have it ready at the end of the day. Back to the shop late afternoon, paid $140 for all and walked out. Put the wheel on my bike that night only to find it flat the next morning.
(No Ride that morning) Brought my bike back in and told them the issue and the response from the bike mechanic "the wheel must need more work". I am not a bike mechanic and this is why I bring my bike into shops for repairs but this response left me literally speechless. He said the spokes or the wheel could have a problem but "needs more work" and they'll look into it. Again, not a mechanic but wouldn't you do give the wheel a once over in the first place to avoid this issue?
Totally unsure how I should ask and as a novice not sure if I'm asking correctly but I convinced myself to politely ask him to fix the tire so it DOES hold air and if its going to cost me more money to hold more air, that's OK. I told him I would have paid more in the first place if this was necessary, meanwhile I'm feeling like I'm being talked down to (by a MID AGE BICYCLE mechanic)because these responses from them do not make any sense to me.
I leave the bike with them, pick up at the end of the day, pay another $35 and the tire is flat first thing the next day. Missed another morning ride and gave up on Backwoods Mt Sports.
I left SV for home with a 3 day ride that coming weekend with no way to get my bike to a shop in time. The guys I ride with all have bike mechanic knowledge and they said they'd work on it. After a few minutes of laughing at the poor workmanship the guys showed me everything that was done improperly. (After the 2nd time Mt Sports "Worked on the wheel")($175 is what I spent with Backwoods for 1 tire)
#1 Before taking the tire off my friends noticed a micro fiber piece of the spoke tape wrapped up and on the outside of the wheel. (Funny)
#2 Pointed out (2) different areas where tape was bubbling and leaking at the spokes
#3 Pointed out that the tape is to never weave up and down the sidewalls of the interior of the rim which it did around the entire rim.

My friends put the tire on, I rode for (3) days with no issues and the tire holds air today.
It's unfortunate for me to write a negative review as I always look for the best in all situations but this has been grinding on my mind for so many months and it needs to be known. The review was mostly prompted by the mechanics attitude and the other Taller (50's)smug shop owner or employee guy(vigouroulsy tightening a bolt or something on a bike) who had no input or any effort to cordially deescalate, help or make it right in my mind the issue at hand.
Go buy a shirt off their wall or a new gadget but my advice would be to question their integrity, technical efforts and non-local hospitality. They're just D-bags, but I'm sure they ride their bicycles really good.

The worst customer service in the area ...we felt so unwelcome and the 2 old man shouldn't even be on the front door if they are gonna be so rude.
We are 8people and we all felt insulted AS SOON WE CROSS THAT DOOR! we were ALL wearing mask, fully vaccinated and that guy was AN ASSHOLE TO ALL OF US! We are gonna buy and rent stuff someplace else
I'm gonna share this review in all my social media ...even 1 of the person in our group try to be nice at one of the rude old dudes and they were so RUDE! We felt so uncomfortable ... DONT GO! I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK AND NONE OF THE 8 people in my group

Is sad because the people in the second floor are nice but is the worst experience that I have in IDAHO

Great local store. We experienced the best customer service with Shaun! Wow.... he's an employee you want to keep. He greeted us immediately, super knowledgeable on all products (he pointed another customer to a product while helping us), extremely helpful with getting us ready for a raft trip regarding gear and tips for our trip. We came back a few days later, he remembered us and continued his excellent customer service. Super impressed when he started ringing us out at the cash register - ninja skills.

Our favorite shop since our first visit to Ketchum area. Employees are enthusiastically helpful and generous with their knowledge. Our best rides and camp spots have come from their insider knowledge. Bruce changed out my brake pads lickity split while sharing trail recommendations which became our most memorable area rides.
Pivot dealers but supplies of bike for sale during the pandemic are low. Plenty of rentals, even high quality eBikes.

I was in Sun Valley for a long weekend and called ahead to get ski bindings mounted. I spoke to Anne; she was super helpful and remembered me when I dropped off the skis a few days later. Super quick turnaround and all of the staff members were knowledgeable. Definitely recommend heading here if you need any gear. Oh, and I bought some climbing gear on the way out, they had a nice corner with essentials.

The staff upstairs are awesome and very helpful. Downstairs, not so much. We went in downstairs to reserve gear. Tried the boots on, but the skis were yet to be returned so they said to come back between 5-6pm. At 5 pm we showed up to pick up our gear and they had nothing! One employee down there had the nerve to make some pretty disparaging comments to us. I won't shop downstairs there again, but I still really like the staff upstairs.

Terrible service and poor selection. Buy anything you need before you come to Sun Valley to avoid having to go to this store and deal with the dorks that work there.

You would think that with the rise of online shopping, (backcountry.com) small stores would focus on good customer service to try and hang on to customers. Oh well, the internet is cheaper anyway...

We are locals and love to go in and drool over the new inventory. The guys there are great! They always answer our million questions and they never give us the "bum rush" Like other bike shops in town (Sturtevants). We always go in and buy clothes, great selection. And some day will have enough cash to buy that beautiful Yeti. Until then, they are the only bike shop for me and my family. And I always recommend them to my guests. (I'm a property manager)
