Is there a place to eat with a pet?

I believe the outside sitting there belongs to the pizza place next door, so I think probably not! But since the pizza place was really a sit down restaurant, you might be able to use their table, and they… more

Definitely my new favorite place!!
I work nearby so we stopped for a quick lunch here but the food was absolutely amazing!
Everyone here is super sweet and welcoming!
The Lahaina fried chicken is so yummy and the char siu pork is to die for!!
* The char siu pork is almost always sold out later in the day so I believe the earlier you come, the higher the chance of them having it!*
They have so many options on the menu and everything I've tried has been very good so far!
I've already come back three times :)Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - 512211814026May 9, 20241 check-in
"Loco moco.
Is Mom's response to what she wanted for lunch.
There's probably a half dozen Hawaiian restaurants near home (at least!) but we wanted to try a new place...
... well. I've been here but it's literally been at least a decade since the last run, so it was time for a come back.
Took a lunch break and drove up. We arrived maybe thirty minutes into opening time and already a few tables occupied.
We didn't take long putting our orders in since we pretty much already knew what we wanted before we arrived: loco moco for Mom and Portuguese sausage and eggs for me. And an order of Portuguese sausage musubi to start.
I love the whole Hawaiian vibe interior. Not because the whole place is decorated as such, but just the overall feel of it. It felt sorta homely.
Wasn't long before our food started trickling in.
PORTUGUESE MUSUBI: I picked this because I wanted to steer away from the usual Spam version. I remember having this the last time (albeit a loooooong time ago!) and the overall flavor is still on point. Rice was fluffy. Seaweed added to the taste and the protein was the center of it all.
PORTUGUESE SAUSAGE AND EGGS: I guess I was kind of on a theme of some sorts, but I haven't had Portuguese patties for awhile! They were were seasoned salty and although I thought they were a bit overdone, they were delicious! Packed with so much flavor, combined with eggs and rice, it didn't need anything else. Just for fun, I dipped a couple of small pieces on Mom's gravy (from her order of loco moco) and made it a different bite! Delish!
Mom enjoyed her plate. Couldn't finish it because of how massive this plate was! I get it, I didn't finish mine either. We had enough for second meals.
FOOD: 5.
SERVICE: 4.
VALUE: 4.5. You get more for what you pay for, the servings are generous!
PARKING: Street and private lot at the back. Not an issue for a midweek lunch.
OVERALL: 4.5.
On a side note, we also enjoyed the macaroni salad and the ramen cabbage salad that I put in a catering order for both as adds to a gathering we're having in the near future.
Shoulda come back sooner! Definitely looking forward to our next visit!Helpful 7Thanks 2Love this 6Oh no 0 - 1653131Apr 11, 20241 check-in
We ordered takeout for dinner. So good! We all ended up ordering the same item on the menu: Lahaina Fried Chicken. As an appetizer, we had the Back Home Sampler which included spam musubi, lahaina friend chicken, bbq sticks, egg rolls, and wontons. It was a little bit of a wait but I understand because their food is amazing!
The Lahaina Fried Chicken was crispy and had a hint of sweetness. Their portions were generous.
Not to mention, the place is so decorative and really tries to capture what it is like being in LahainaHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2024
So Boss took us here for a quick lunch.
It is just sad that i cant really fully enjoy the food and dining experience. It was not the restaurant issue. We are a chaotic finance department.
Overall experience was great. The food was on point. Restaurant staffs are well oil machines. I can see that this is a preferred spot for all the local businesses. I saw alot of other colleague groups dining with us as well.Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 7Oh no 0 - Apr 24, 2024
Love love love this place ! I've been coming here for years !! Of course you have to get the island fried chicken ! But I also really love the Chinese chicken salad and Saimin ! I love the ambience , takes me back to Maui. . Right along with the customer service , just very sweet and attentive waiters !
Ooops, almost forgot about dessert . . . If you like haulpia , you must get the haulpia cheesecake. . . But I must say the Jello cheesecake is my absolute favorite it's the macadamia nut crust goodness for me! go try it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 27, 20244 check-ins
I absolutely love this place. All time best Hawaiian food out there, hands down.
The only ick is that ordering take out can be tricky. Sometimes you are missing one tiny item like the sauce that goes with your meal. And that can ruin the whole experience. Each item delicately goes with the next. You have to have extra teriyaki or lumpia sauce. You can't just have one little 1 ounce cup.
Today though, all was included in my to-go meal. I love everything on their menu is delicious. Today I had a craving for their Kalua lumpia and Mac salad. I haven't found any other place that makes Mac salad like Back Home to Lahaina.
Oh another ick is that the to-go order app doesn't always work so I have to call in to order.
The place inside is nice. Very clean and an at home feel. The art that you see is neat. The staff are warm and welcoming when you sit and eat. There are times that pick up is very busy as well as the sit and dine area.
I've attended a babyshower here too and a party event here and the staff was spectacular.
The chicken breast, Chinese chicken salad, teriyaki chicken omg sooooo good.
The food portions are nice and big. You are always greeted with the Aloha style which is always a great feeling.
I love that they have the Island sodas and pastries. Ooooh and the cabbage saimin is a super delicious craving
Make reservations if you can. Most times they say that you can't. The weekends are always beyond packed. Get there early if you want to fix your craving. The food here always tastes fresh. Restrooms are always clean. Staff is always smiling and friendly.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 21, 20241 check-in
My wife loves Hawaiian food, so she convinced me to try this Hawaiian restaurant, which really does feel like the former Lahaina. The food is much better than I expected and was truly Hawaiian food at its best! I wanted to try the sampler, which has many of the foods I'm accustomed to in Hawaii, and they did not dissappoint. Their fish tacos are better than I've had at Mexican restaurants and the fried chick was all dark meat and so soft. I felt so much at home with their staff and felt their service was truly felt. As for ambiance, the decor resembles the buildings I recollect from my most recent trip to Maui before the fires, and kind of made me sad that it's all gone. I'll need to go back and see how the island is doing and hopefully see some brand new construction in Lahaina!

One of my favorite hawaiian spots to get food from! I've only ever gotten take out or catering from here and haven't actually eaten inside the restaurant before but despite the food traveling from restaurant to home, the food is always delicious! My absolute favorite is, of course, the fried chicken!
Service is always super friendly and quick, esp when dealing with large work lunch orders or catering party orders.
I'll for sure need to come back and dine in-person to experience the food straight from the kitchen!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yoichi M.Studio City, CA2494May 17, 2024
Big part? Not a problem here, Annual spot for the kids team for their tournament. Always good service and great Hawaiian food, can't go wrong with the fired chicken plate.

This is one of my favorite Hawaiian places. I love that they've maintained their quality of food and great service.
I recommend getting their plates to get the most bang for your buck. Even if you can't finish a plate, you at least get to make two meals out of it. You can't go wrong with their fried chicken. It's got the right combination of crunchy and tender. Also it's very tasty, but not too salty. Another plate I really like is their Kalbi plate. It's very tasty, tender and juicy. I would also recommend getting their bacon fried rice either by itself or as an upgrade from the white rice.
Their service has always been excellent. They get super busy on the weekends, especially when there is a local basketball tournament going on. It's a great place for a bigger group, so you do see a lot of youth bball teams here. However busy it gets, we've always received great service here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
