MY ORIGINAL REVIEW (2008): I'm not a fan of this particular store in Neath at all. Although it's undoubtedly handy for paint and tools (although you can buy many of them in Wilkinson - and much cheaper too), there's never anyone to help in the store - the only staff are on checkouts and can't leave their positions to assist in finding things. They're not particularly friendly either. The worst thing about this place is the outdoor gardening department. They don't look after the plants and often, during a dry spell, you will see half-dead plants in parched, powdery soil. I always long to give them some water. Not impressed!


UPDATE Visited 14th May (2009) and there were actually several members of staff to ask where the things were that I wanted to buy. However, the two I asked were completely hopeless, rather unfriendly, and took me to the wrong aisle and not the products I was looking for. I found them myself in a different part of the store afterwards. I shall go somewhere else to shop in future.


UPDATE Visited today - April 21st 2011 - and was VERY pleasantly surprised - even impressed!! The gardening department was much improved and the staff seemed better too. Best of all was the excellent and friendly service I received from Robert who was incredibly helpful and courteous - even though he was busy and I asked him for help three times. He also took all my heavy purchases out to my car and placed them carefully in the boot for me. He is a real credit to B&Q and, as a result, I have dramatically raised my star rating. I shall be happy to buy from there again!!
