The waiting room is decorated pretty nicely. They offer you tea or lemon water while you wait.

I also like that there's a yelp voucher, too. Online booking froze while I was signing up for an appointment, but I called and the receptionist was nice about it and still accepted the voucher.

Went here for my very first sugaring. Martha was quick and very nice. She talked me through it and told me that she would be very gentle. She was considerate even asking me how hot the sugar was each time. Would recommend this place.

The headline: my v-jay-jay says no way, way!

I've been waiting 17 weeks to write this review (be it courage or empirical evidence). Writing about such intimate parts of your body is well not the norm, but we depend on all reviews to make good decisions. So hopefully, this helps you.

Gave this place a try because I wanted to try this sugaring technique. Heard this technique it's supposed to be better AND less painful than regular wax. In full disclosure, I was past due, but still hopeful because if I let too much time elapse between waxes my regular waxer still comes through! I explained this in detail and I was assured it would be all good.

Martha started working and it was indeed less painful, but strange because we kept going over the same place again and again. I'm no expert, but that's usually a no-way! Then she tries the other side and finally gives up and says that because my hair is too long, we'll need to go to regular wax. That should have been my cue, but I didn't take it.

She then pulls out the wax.. goes back over those same areas again plus a few areas that were wths. After all was said and done, iIf "she" had a voice and a fist, she'd probably bop me for bad decisions, cuss her out, and then cuss me out.

So to add insult to injury, Martha wanted to continue on and on about how I needed to exfoliate and do this and do that for a better experience. HUNTY - this hurt more than my first time being waxed in life. Please don't hit me with the excuses - I am not a newbie. If you were not comfortable with the situation, you could have gracefully bowed out, or started with the regular wax.

So after a few weeks of inflammation and overall pain, I let the hair grow back to the pre-sugaring length, went to my regular waxer and voila no issues with extraction or grow back. That lady had ME questioning my sanity and methods.

Ultimately, stay away. Stay awayyyyyyy for at least this service!

I'd consider a massage, the facilities are beautiful and relaxing!

Never again. Went to get my eyebrows done. "I want to keep them thick just clean them up". I walked out with asymmetrical brows and wax in my bangs. I was charged full price which isn't the end of my world but at least apologize if I have to walk around looking SURPRISED for two weeks. If anything, my eyebrow game is tight. I'm so pissed ... Which came as a surprise to the dingbat that did my brows.

I paid 25. Then paid another 25 at Ulta for a brow filler. Buyer beware...

Super disappointed with how my and my husbands massages happened (or should I say didn't happen) yesterday - Sunday.

On Saturday, I booked two appointments here. One for 11, and one for 11:15 as those were the two closest together.

We showed up at 10:45 to start paperwork/start our massages on time. We filled out our paperwork, and waited, and waited, and waited.

I could hear the receptionist and a masseuse whispering and I immediately knew they screwed up and didn't have enough people. We were the first massages of the day so eavesdropping was pretty easy being five feet away....

At 11:30, they fessed up that one of the masseuses just didn't show up for work today. However, what I really think happened is that they didn't have two people scheduled for us.

Net net, they said we could come back later in the day, but it was just one of the first days in Chicago that it was nice out, so we didn't want to come back that day.

The receptionist told us the manager/owner would contact us today to clear all of this up. We were never contacted.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, Azul Spa.

The actual massage and spa services are fantastic. If I could rate them solely on that it would be 5 stars.

However, my sister and I have come here quite a few times over the years, and every single time there are scheduling issues. On a couple of occasions we've actually gone in and scheduled it face to face, come to find out on the day of our appointment that our times have been pushed a half hour back with no explanation. Luckily they were nice enough to comp us for parking for this mistake, but considering that it was the fourth or so time that's happened, it makes me wary to use them again. We typically end up doing the package, so maybe if you schedule only a massage online you would be fine.

Had a great first experience at Azul. The receptionist was fantastic, Justin did my body scrub.

I wasn't completely sure what to expect as it was my first body scrub. I had a feeling, from the firmness of his handshake, that it wasn't his first scrub down.

He was wonderful. Not only did he give me the best mini massage as well (definitely makes you want to come back) he gave me quite a bit of extra time to make sure he covered all areas. I felt he was quite thorough, he hit a few places my other masseuses forget.

The decor was lovely; a peaceful mix of Miami and Bali. I would not only recommend Azul, I plan to return and try something else. It's conveniently located and there was free parking around the corner.

I had a bit of trouble scheduling initially, but the receptionist was able to fit me in. This is no day spa, it has a humble and quaint appearance. So if you're looking to lounge around in your robe and tea, flipping through magazines--this is not the place for you.

Here's what it does right. Staff are friendly and accommodating. You're treated with professionalism and positive energy. The services are from talented people. You walk in and it smells right, it sounds right it looks calming and serene in each room. It's a tiny place but they work magic in that place. Just goes to show you how important it is to make the most of what you got. Key is to be hospitable-- provide positive vibes, atmosphere and courteous service with well trained staff. Check, check, check and check. I'll be back!

If you are looking for a basic massage for decent price great place. Looking for a spa experience, not really the place.
I'm docking 1 star bc it was a super disappointment for a group of 4 girls. They put us in the men's locker room & gave us men's clothing & shoes. Services were not timed properly between the 4 of us. Some got extra time, others were shorted. There was no place for us to relax before/after services besides a tiny closet/meditation room that other guests were coming & going from. Just not enough room.
We had to go to the front desk to get water after services in our robes. We did get a comp upon complaining.
I'm docking another star for cleanliness. Ceiling tiles were moldy, bathrooms not clean, etc. I asked for a pillow to prop my back up (I'm pregnant) during a facial, they used the decorative pillows from the front lobby & didn't put them under sheets.

Went with my very pregnant friend on a Saturday afternoon. The online reservation system is smart and easy to use.
The hostess at check in did not present with a normal "spa" welcome. She was rushed. Just pointed out the lockers (luckily they just have keys & are easy to figure out). Many were available which was good bc each locker was missing something (robe or slippers). I didn't fill out the paperwork til after my appt bc she forgot. However, that was the only shortcoming. Everything else was fabulous.

Very lovely ambiance and dark lighting. Didn't use the showers but they were medium sized rain shower heads.

We were walked to the meditation room. We waited for two minutes before we were greeted by our therapists. My friend had the 60 min prenatal massage and loved it.
I had a deluxe azul 60 min massage and was in heaven. The blend of the aromas of coconut oil with the chanting music literally melted my anxious tight soul away. My therapist was AMAZING. The table was perfectly warm. I think she used got stones at so s point which was quite a u expected relaxing touch. When I flipped over she put my head on a heated neck pillow and a heated eye mask over my eyes. What a thoughtful detailed massage experience. I can't wait to return.
The yelp deal was an added bonus. Hope the reception gets better!

This review is a bit overdue.....but the owner called me promptly and asked for me to explain my experience to her. She was very friendly and showed great customer service.

She even offered me another facial that would be done BY HER. That was extremely nice.

I haven't had a chance to go back or take her up on the offer, but I appreciate the gesture and how much she cares her business.
