Invited 7 of my friends to eat and enjoy the special for Thursdays shrimp. This was phenomenal and also with great service from the bartenders Pea and Nuke. also include the other bartenders and managers and kitchen staff. This bar fixes the best drinks , Also try the Oyster Racefellow along with a choice of other seafood menu that is great. I highly recommend this place to all of my friends and I advertise the lunch menu that is awesome.

Visited this place while in Roanoke visiting family. It's located conveniently in Downtown, it was pretty empty when we arrived. In terms of ambience, it's nothing really special, kind of like a sports bar vibe so I imagine it's a nice place to watch a game.
For food, the highlight of the show was the pepperjack crab soup.. this is a must try! I got the crab cake sandwich as well which was pretty average.
The main downside in terms of service was that it was slow, especially considering it was pretty empty. I ordered a cocktail and it still hadn't come 30+ minutes later and I had to ask about it which finally led to me getting it about 10 minutes after that, when I was pretty much done with my food and ready to wrap up.
I might give this spot another try to try out some other options on their menu, but it's not high up on my list for now.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jessica F.King George, VA5210444Jan 26, 2024
Was in Roanoke for a photography convention in November and was surprised to see this restaurant as we explored downtown. We love the one in OBX, so we tried it. Turns out it's not the same place - this is Awful Arthur's Seafood Company, and the one in OBX is Awful Arthur's Oyster Bar. This place was large and clean, a few people watching football over by the bar, the waitress (Jamie M) was nice, but the food made me sick later, and we wished we had tried somewhere else. I got shrimp and scallops - they were flavorless and not cooked enough. He got seafood alfredo. The hushpuppies were decent. Might be a fun place for sports and brews, but I think for seafood, stick to the shore.

We almost did not go because of the mixed reviews but I was ready for a bar and oysters so we tried it. We had 3 appetizers and raw blue points. All were great. Bartender was working the whole place but took care of us. I thought I should say what our experience was since others have posted so so reviews. Good food and the best Oysters Rockefeller I had had in a long time.

They haven't made an attempt to rectify a problem with our visit after much effort on our part. We don't like leaving negative reviews, but after spending 107 dollars for what happened to us, it's been a really negative experience.

This was our first ever visit and we arrived just as they opened for the day. We remained the only diners, which seemed strange. Our waitress took our drink order quickly after we were seated and we looked thru the menu.
My spouse choose the fried oysters and chips with hush puppies, all of which she really enjoyed. I got an order of hush puppies that was beyond plentiful for one and a bowl of clam chowder soup that was pretty good. We shared the crab dip that was nice. We both thought the items that were fried could have been taken out sooner, although the chips for the crab dip were perfect and huge!
The restaurant is so much bigger than it appears to be from the outside with a huge pool room and another bar in the back. The main dining room is even bigger with a bar as well. There's outdoor seating too. It's a chill atmosphere. If we visit Roanoke again we'd explore the menu more.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Matt H.Salt Lake City, UT989Jun 24, 2023

We stopped in here for lunch, over Halloween weekend, and ordered some apps/drinks. They required masks upon entry except when eating. There was a good variety of food and drink items. I ordered beer-battered shrimp and was disappointed at the amount of batter. It more like corndog batter but still tasty. Midway through the app, I was taking most of the batter off. I also ordered some clam chowder which was oddly sweet. I kept adding oyster crackers to it to try and cut some of that down.
The drinks were ok, borderline too sugary. We got some shots of screwball peanut butter whiskey which is always a plus. Service was friendly and very attentive. Prices affordable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Renee H.Princeton, WV14321Oct 3, 2023
Came here for lunch, (I have been here before, but wasn't impressed), but this time, oh boy was everything great! The food is absolutely excellent!. The fish & chip are to die for really, my son ordered them & we all had a bite. The raw oyster were absolute fresh & the best we have had in a very long while, even in bigger cities & near the beach. Hayden was our server & she was the best & very patient. I had the shrimp po boy, it was excellent & my husband the Chesapeake burger, he said it was a the best burger he has had in years. I highly recommend this restaurant!
