      The people who own this place/work here are THIEVES. We rented a car here and paid for the insurance and were told to pick it up at 12:00 on Sunday May 24th. This seemed odd because the hours said they closed at 12:00, so we arrived 30 minutes early in an effort to help them out. HAHAHA Well turns out their employees didn't feel it was necessary to send out all the rental reservations they had for the day. They left before we arrived. With no one there to assist us, we were forced to rent a car elsewhere but have no received our money back for the insurance yet. This is absolutely ridiculous and if they knew they would not be working this day they never should have set our reservation for this time. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AFTER I RECEIVE MY INSURANCE REFUND. I will also pay whatever it takes to make sure you can not keep renting cars.

      This review is for the Budget Rental which is located in the same office/building. Horrible customer service- avoid at all costs. I had reserved a two day rental due to a car accident. Manager called me 10 minutes before pickup(and 40 minutes before closing) that vehicle that I was renting was not returned yet/not available and he would not stay past 6 PM. Advised that I needed vehicle to get to work the next day- he could have cared less. As he called me right before 6 there was no time to obtain a reservation from a different rental company. It appears this location does not have many actual vehicles and that they "borrow" from other locations to include the airport. Recommend avoidance unless you want to roll the dice on your vehicle actual being available for pickup. Management needs to take a course on customer service as well.

      I'm only giving them a generous two stars because the car I rented was very nice. And if I hadn't needed extra days I would have never found out how crooked they can be. Otherwise, their business ethic gets a big fat zero.

      I rented a car for a few days in December. I rented through Costco and got a 70.00 rate on a really nice Mazda3 for 2 days. The clerk who helped us in the rental place acted like we were bothering him and got our paperwork together with a large chip on his shoulder. Later, I had unforeseen things happen and I called Budget to see if I could keep the car a few more days. She said "no problem, I'll extend your contract." I shouldn't have assumed this meant my price per day would stay the same. After all, it had the cost of extra days written right on the contract I signed. Why wouldn't they go by that?? I actually kept the car one more day than I should have and was expecting to pay a penalty. It was listed as 10.00 for late fees and 20.00 for some other fee. I had figured with the extra days and late fees it would be about 290.00. When I turned in the keys in Mr. Chip on his Shoulder gave me a whopping 800+ dollar bill!!! WHAT!! on the new paperwork he had printed, my rate had changed to 65.00 per day AND! He was charging me for an 8th day because I brought the car back at 3:00 instead of 2:30. (He said I picked the car up at 12:30 and I did not) he said the original rental agreement I made through Costco was null and void because I didn't bring the car back on time. I had a few choice words for his new rental agreement and refused to pay it. He told me he could "do me a favor" and give me the weekly rental rate of 37.00 a day. A rate that still came out to be more than my Costco rate. I refused him again. I asked him why he couldn't give me the Costco rate on my contracted Costco days and the Budget rate on the remaining days. The original contract I signed had the rate for extra days listed right on it, clear as day. (He even made a big deal to point them out to me) But this guy had now printed up a different rental agreement with new inflated rates of 65.00 a day. I told him I wasn't signing anything new until I figured out his weird rate deal. He told me to contact Costco. But, Costco wasn't the one trying to screw me!! I did call customer service for Budget and they were no help at all. The woman I talked to said they could alter the contract and charge me whatever they wanted to if I wished to keep a car for a longer time. I said that no one told me the rates would be changed and the computer even gave me an estimated final amount which was nowhere near 800 bucks. The agent told me that if the situation called for it they could change my rate to whatever they deemed appropriate. I said, so you can basically screw me if you choose..... I also called Costco and they want the details and copies of everything. They can get involved over their part of the contract, that Budget chose to ignore.

      I called my bank next to contest the bogus amount and I found out that the rental agent had actually tried to charge me the 800+ bucks!! This was After he told me he was charging me the weekly rate of 37.00!!! Thank goodness I was using my small amount credit card and the funds weren't available. He basically lied to me. That makes me furious. I also had random charges from budget on my account. 35.00 one day. 88.00 was charged about an hour BEFORE I brought the car back. And they haven't charged me the "new weekly rate" at all. They also didn't charge the 70 original dollars. Bizarre. Always, when I rent a car they put a hold on the funds until the car is returned. The clerk at the bank said she saw no evidence it was ever done. Just the random stuff and the bogus 800.

      Next time I'll go Alamo or enterprise. Buh-by budget.

      If I could leave negative stars I would. Avoid this location at all costs! The manager/owner at this location is the most unprofessional, uncaring person, ignoring, unhelpful person I've dealt with. 1) I had a problem with a car rental earlier this month and he refuses to help. After pleading, he called corp. and was able to get me a $30 refund (not much but showed there was a little caring) though it's been a month now and no refund. He was extremely reluctant to even make a call about this, claims he has no documentation now, hasn't returned any of my calls, claims there's nothing he can do. Leads me to believe nothing was done in the first place. So, unprofessional, unwilling to solve a problem, no communication skills. 2) Another time I needed a 1-way rental to NY and even though I booked weeks in advance and confirmed 2 days in advance with this location, I showed up and there were NO CARS! Only a very large SUV; not acceptable for numerous reasons. He refused to help and told me to go to the airport location (adding hours of time to my trip). Luckily I was able to go to the other Midlo Trnpk location and they helped me no problem. Been going there ever since and more than happy. 3) A lot of their cars have been smoked in- not something they can control, I guess, but beware. 4) NEVER returns a phone call. Seriously, avoid this location at all costs!
