This place is packed all the time ... probably because its one of the only ranges around. The only other ones in the area are in Charlton and Liecster. Its hard to get a spot here, which is probably why the customer service is so bad.

The old guy ... I am assuming an owner because who would hire such a grumpy old jerk ... is one of the meanest and most cantankerous people I've come across. I would have been more offended if I didn't see him treat 90% of the customers like dirt.

This range has almost no upkeep. The mats are worn and look like they are from the 1970's. The rubber tees are way too long. Unless you like teeing your ball up 2-3 inches. Usually ranges have a short rubber tee and a longer one. Not here. The grass tee costs extra to hit from but it is more like a dirt tee as they are so worn its like hitting out of a dirt rut anywhere you tee the ball up.

The balls are probably about a year too old. Clearly they aren't replaced often as you can tell by the sound when you hit them that they are past their prime. All in all, this place is pretty expensive for how unbelievably shitty it is. However, it's one of your only options, so you don't have much choice. Often I skip it just so I don't have to deal with the grumpy old owner .

Don't know about the negative reviews. I was in the area waiting on my daughter as she took a standardized test for college. I had my clubs in the car so I decided to go and hit a bucket. The 2 star review worried me but it was kinda dated so I thought I would give them a try. The guy at the desk was very pleasant. The mats were great and the yardage markers were pretty accurate (I checked them with my laser rangefinder). The downsides are (1) not enough benches to sit on, (2) the sand area needs to be raked and cleaned and (3) the putting area need repair. All of this holds it back from 4 stars.

Always an open spot to hit - Balls are OK - Lessons available - Really great practice putting green - all in all I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Decent range, the balls are pretty old and worn out. There are a couple young guys with a good attitude that work there. The old guy is one of the most miserable people I have had the misfortune of dealing with. If I was the owner I would drop that dude immediately. I don't live far away so when I go there and he is working I turn around and leave.

Went there for the first time I walk up to the machine it has instructions how to get balls using credit card. I tried 5 times it says bad swipe. So then I walk in and ask the guy is there a trick to get the balls. The guy was rude and condescending says you can't get balls with a credit card. I was like there are instructions he just proceeds to be rude. I'll go someplace else thank you very much.

This driving range has been around for awhile though it's changed hands a few times. It's an ok range. There's only a couple benches along the long line of tee boxes, a small golf shop, and they offer lessons.

They have 3 yard markers and 5 flags (with posted distances) but the yardage is questionable. Primarily because you're hitting up a pretty steep hill. If I'm hitting a ball and it's landing at 200 yards on a hill, does that mean that the ball would really be 250 yards if the ball had the opportunity to continue it's arch down to the same elevation I'm hitting from? Or have they taken this into account already?

Anyway, a bucket of balls will set you back $9 and it's an additional $2 if you want to hit from the grass. Not the best value I've seen, but like I said, this place is just ok.

Rude & miserable employee. Do the job your getting paid to do or just stay home!
Would've worked harder on my game had I placed him out in the fairway!

Practiced here a few more times, and I actually like that you hit into a slope with trees in the back because you don't lose sight of your ball. While it's hard to absolutely gauge your distance, it's a good option for cloudy days, which central MA has plenty of. They also take credit cards for a small bucket of balls, which is very nice.

Let me start out by saying that I have spent a lot of money here over the years. Unfortunately they apparently do not appreciate my business . Unprofessional is an understatement. I had the "pleasure" of dealing with one of the rudest and disrespectful employees in the golf industry i have ever seen. Instead of trying to understand my issue that i was having with the "ticket system" they have, i was treated like scum and was out the money i paid for a bucket a few days earlier. I can't stress this enough....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. They are arrogant, disrespectful thieves!
