Atmosphere is going out of business and they're having a pretty good closing sale. It's kind of sad, really, that this place is going away. I like the storefront, and I think it adds a nice amount of pretty to Vermont.

But I see why it doesn't do great business. The clothes are targeted towards young people, but the prices are high. Atmosphere doesn't have the drawing power of a Confederacy or an Opening Ceremony, and I doubt that they tempt too many passing pedestrians to pull out their wallets. The reviewer who referred to it as an Urban Outfitters for trust fund babies isn't too far off the mark.

That said, the merchandise is very nice. Atmosphere is split down the middle between stuff for men and women, and both sides boast boutique brands that have some edge. The store itself is also cute and well organized, and the employees were friendly enough when I stopped in.

Well, no use mourning the place, I suppose, but if you're in the market for some new clothes, the closing sale is great. Everything is marked down between 20% and 80%. I walked away with an IRO dress for $60 that had a sticker price of $230. Might as well take advantage of a good sale.

It's a cool store but way too expensive!!!!! The clothes are cool but not worth the price.

the only things that are worth the trip to this store are:
      Heavy Rotation T-shirts
      Pan am bags

My must stop shop in L.A. Hands down best store in Los Feliz for cute shoes, jewelry and pants.

I bought my hottest pair of brown platform leather boots here!! Probably my most commented piece of jewelry I wear( and you know this little yelper has some damn fine jewelry), is a beautiful gold and ebony wood ring with a diamond inside the piece of ebony. Hotness!!!

This is an upscale casual shop; great gifts and stuff for men. Yes this yelper loves for her men to look good!! :)

It's almost Spring time; time to head to L.A. for some shopping, eating, drinking and yelping. I'll be there soon Atmosphere....

Check it ladies and gents; you will not be disappointed.

I like this place. But the gear seems pretty similar all the time. Like the band Spoon, the music doesn't really change much, even though they keep cranking out records. If you like that kind of music, then that's fine (I'm not too cool to admit that I have some Spoon... and I'm not proud of that).

It's really a 3.5 star rating. But I'm rounding up.

This store is nice, granted, the merchandise here is a bit too casual for my taste, but nice nonetheless. I was just browsing around, when I spotted some P.F. flyers for sale for $25 in my size. DONE.

The men's section here reminds me of a more high-end Urban Outfitters OR a men's version of Anthropology. It's nice stuff, but not really for me.

It's a very nice store with helpful staff and some charming chachkas for sale in addition to clothing, shoes, sunglasses, and jewelry.

Lots of different things in this place. Mens and womens clothing, art and design books, wallets, purses, glasses, shoes.. all kinds of cool stuff. Lots of unique things too. Can be pricey, depends on what you get. Have been complimented on a couple of things i've gotten from there. The owner.. melissa or michelle..... shes super nice and designed the interior space herself.

This store carries the most beautiful and amazing things. However, one of the staff members (in her 30's with short - brown hair) was SO rude to me. I bought these beautiful, leather sandals that were pretty pricey. After I brought them home, I noticed they were pretty shreaded on the inside where it touches the back of my heel. I wore them to lunch for a few hours and my feet were bleeding. I took them back wanting to ask if someone else had bought & returned them before me! In front of about 10 other customers, said store clerk yelled to me, "This isn't Nordstroms!" Their return policy is that there are no returns and no exchanges (or so she told me). I'm sad that I won't be shopping here anymore because of the horrible customer service.

Cute overpriced stuff. Nothing for fat chicks like me to wear, except for shoes. Snooty sales staff. Snooty customers. I did like their little sections of knick-knacky stuff.

I agree with a lot of the other reviews on here who mention the snobby customer service and terribly over priced goods. It is a shame to have such cool stuff (my girlfriend bought a nice dress here once) but will not be coming back due to the bitchy lady there.
p.s. return policy means you are pretty much stuck and they will not help you. lame

The clothes are nice, but better overpriced goods can easily be found elsewhere-Scout and Milk on 3rd, Opening Ceremony, Barney's Co-Op. What really makes this store worth checking out is their jewelry, shoes, doo-dads, and stationary. They had THE cutest gold owl ring that if I wasn't sure was woefully out of my price range, would have snapped up in a heartbeat. The girl working didn't look like she was working at all, but she greeted us when we came in and looked like she would have helped us out no problem had we asked. Overall worth a stop in if you're on Vermont but I wouldn't go out of my way for a visit.
