HOW THE HECK IS YELP giving you guys 3.5 star with so many BAD REVIEWS..... this company should be 1 star...
Felllow Yelpers and POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. BE AWARE.....
AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST...
These guys are the same people as Thinschmidth German Shepherd from Corona. Their information can be verified via State and City public information.
These guys sold us our puppy and the training using the same name and bank account charging our credit card. We have had nothing but health problems with our dog for the past 5 years after spending over $6500 for a puppy plus training and over $12000 in Vet bills so far.
They have had nothing but bad reviews from UNHAPPY customers who have bought dogs with major health problems.
GO to their web site and read their Yelp reviews....
YOU WILL NOT WANT TO BUY A PUPPY from them,Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie B.Riverside, CA05511Jun 9, 2018Updated review
Here is Pepper almost 3 yr (December he will be). Still the best protective family dog, even great with our little Yorkie. But if outside he rarely leaves our son' side.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 4, 2018Previous reviewGot my Shepherd from them 2 years ago. Pepper has been the best dog we have ever had. The training we got was excellent. They even took the time to find out what dog would be the best match for our family. You don't get to just buy a cute puppy. They want you to have a member of the family.
Pepper has been a great fit. And all of the support and additional training options after you purchase is great. Whenever we go out of town we always board him he is so happy to go back and see Robert. - Christy G.Las Vegas, NV231325Jan 31, 2018
Assertive K9 trained this guy for me. He came to me at 3 months old fully obedience trained. Sit, down, stay, heel. At 3 months he would lay down for 45 minutes without flinching, on command!! Diana and her staff are beyond professional and know exactly what they are doing when it comes to breeding and training! Diana has even helped me with my 2 year old mastiff (in the background) and she has made leaps and bounds! Ron is a little hyper, but a great trainer none the less. I highly recommend them for new puppies, as well as training. There is nothing worse than a puppy/ dog who doesn't listen, thanks to assertive k9 i don't have to deal with that!

Robert is the best. No nonsense and very reasonable pricing for the value. I took my puppy Poncho there at 4 months for training and bring him back for boarding. He is well trained yet still has great personality because of the positive training.

This company was not communicative and lacked the interest in learning what the real issues were with our 2year old GSD.
After briefing Kim about the situation on the phone this place was absolutely disappointing. Initially I spoke with Kim, via phone and I explained to her all the issues my German Shepherd male had. I disclosed he was schutzhund trained from 4mos and now I was experiencing problems with aggression. She made it sound like this was the right course for his aggression and highly encouraged me to sign up via phone. After three sessions, on the 4th visit she pulled us off to the side at the start of training and told my husband and I that we needed to leave her property because my dog was too aggressive and he was distracting to the training. She said his barking caused the other dogs to become nervous. I reminded her that she was made aware but she clearly was dense and did not care to listen. I wish that she would've at least assessed my pet prior to making me sign up and telling me how great this course would be because I wasted money and I wasted time and I left very disappointed. It seems like a great facility but I just think that KIM, should have had used better judgement and not told me to register without an initial assessment. We would do anything for for pet and we took her advice and it was a mistake.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Warren R.Honolulu, HI25677Mar 24, 2015Updated review

It's interesting that you only included a single email from 2012 as your companies response to my complaint about your business practices and customer service. I did indeed send that email but from 2012 until 2015 I have tried via emails and phone calls to resolve this issue. Don't be juvenile in trying to hide your companies obvious attempt to cheat yet another customer out of their monies. I have asked to use my deposit for training another puppy there to which michele eimer replied "no", I asked to sell the deposit to another person and was told that was not possible, but I was also told that I could transfer the use of deposit to a family member that's laughable. It's funny how it takes you guys weeks and months to respond to requests but days to bs around on yelp.
Seems it's time to make my bbb complaint along with a complaint to the ripoff report and whatever other social media sites. As a security consultant I have access too many sites that use services such as yours, let's see how my review our your business practices go over in these circles. And all this over a refund.

Mar 11, 2015Previous reviewMy family and I decided to place a deposit for a puppy at Assertive K9 after it was recommended to us by a friend in March of 2012. After further family discussion we decided to go with a different type of family pet that we thought was better suited for a small child.
We contacted Assertive K9 several times attempting to work out some agreement on how to use our $500 dollar deposit either for their in house training, classes or even to be able to transfer the deposit to another person. We were told over and over again that your contract states "All Deposits Are Non-Refundable", and after looking at the form it gives you that caveat but without specifics detailing what options Assertive K9 would give you in being able to use "your money" for their other services.
Well come to find out Assertive K9 is not interested in allowing you to use "your deposit" for any of their other services and they are not interested in letting you transfer the deposit to anyone "except to family members", which is not an option in our case since we have no other family members here in California.
In short Assertive K9's contract is lacking in specifics, their policy is too rigid when dealing with potential clients, and the ownership needs to take a fresh look at how they deal with customers as their responses to our questions and inquiries were
extremely boilerplate nonsense.
I see here on Yelp and the RIP OFF REPORT file on Assertive K9 that leaves no doubt that this company cares very little about you or your situation after they get your money. Well after being polite with Michele and the other staff on the phone and via email, my family and I will take this to the next legal level since we cannot get any remedy from the Assertive people.
Being a nationally recognized security expert, people are always seeking my opinion on personal security companies, products and procedures and it's my personal opinion for anyone thinking about purchasing a puppy from Assertive K9 that they had better think MORE than twice before doing so, better yet - DON'T BOTHER !!!!
They will take your money, then run and hide under the cover of their thinly worded laughable contract. - Barb D.Perris, CA010Feb 7, 2018
We can't thank Diana , Ron and Bobby at Assertive K-9 for our wonderful AshLee enough. When she came to us we were thrilled but also a little apprehensive as we have two other dogs as well as Horses and an old cat. AshLee removed any concerns we may have had.
She has literally adopted both the horse and cat. It is amazing to watch how tender she is with them. She will lay and wait and watch them eat, follow them slowly and provide company.
She follows me when I mow the lawn and ride the little tractor. She lays patiently and waits for me in whatever project I am doing. She moved in and it has been like she had always been with us. We got her as a pup and she will be two in August.
I took her to the vet in town for well check and the vet said that she was the nicest tempered shepherd he had ever seen.
I can go on forever about her, the credit goes to Diana and team for the foundation they laid with her.
Thank you all so much, we love her!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cait O.Los Alamitos, CA464239217Aug 11, 2013
I took both of my dogs to be evaluated by their training staff. One had extreme anxiety & fears of new things/people (Dog 1). The other dog was an older puppy I had adopted from a rescue group that had maybe some prior training (Dog 2). This is my experience:
Dog 1:
When my dog with anxiety/fear issues was evaluated they recommended a 6+ week in-board training program for him. The training estimate was at least $5,000 (more if they felt he needed more time). The area he was going to be placed in was an aggressive dog hold area. He barked at people but never charged and never had bitten anyone so I didn't like that this was his ONLY option of places to stay. I knew boarding him around the aggressive dogs would just make him stress himself straight to the vet so I decided to get another opinion.
I visited a different facility (Crossroads Pet Resort in Stanton, CA) with a trainer (Dan Tambourine) that had a specialization in fears/anxiety/aggression in dogs. First thing Dan asked me to do was to get a specific blood panel test done to confirm there wasn't a biological reason for my dog's behavior. --This shocked me as there was absolutely NO mention of this when I was at Assertive K-9; Assertive K-9 did NOT ask if a prior blood test had been done or mention that his behavior could be caused by something BIOLOGICAL. -- One week later after Dan's requested blood panels came back, we had a diagnosis of a hypothyroidism. Within weeks of starting the medication my dog's behavior started to get better. Four to five months later, my dog was back to his normal happy self with NO aggression or anxiety issues. That second opinion saved me $5,000+ in training costs that would have stressed out my dog and wouldn't have worked because the issues were biological in nature. THANK GOD FOR THAT SECOND OPINION!!!!
Dog 2:
They recommended a full 6 week board and train program. I did not have the money for the full program so we agreed on a shorter 3 week program. The three week program was still a bit out of my budget but the training I saw on the videos in their office made me think it would be a wise investment. Three weeks later she had an ok amount of training. The trainer that walked me through what she had learned was very thorough & obviously cared very much about the dogs he trained. She had sit, down, stay, come & walk-on-leash/heal down ok but not great. One thing that bothered me was the owner Michele answered all my questions about her and her training with what she felt I wanted to hear and not the truth.
I have continued her training locally & found out she has been VERY easy to train. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have spent the $3,000 for the board and train program. Though I got a dog with some very basic ok training, the dog was stressed during boarding, she tested positive for GIARDIA immediately after pick up (I'm not the first person to have this happen according to other review sites) & I feel like it would have been much better for me to invest that money elsewhere...like in private training or a group classes locally, as I feel she would have gotten much more out of those. I really wish I had gotten a second opinion on her training.
Overall, I'm not certain I'd recommend them and I definitely will not be a return customer.Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Angie P.Idaho Falls, ID0246Jun 6, 2016
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED CASH OR TIME!!!
The training here sucks. Our German shepherd puppy was purchased from here and we opted to have him go through Assertive K9's 4 week training. At 12 weeks we received him and the trainer Rob did not properly show us how to handle or which commands the dog knew (he didn't acknowledge us at all, only the other gentleman there). He was supposed to be taught in German but they taught him English commands! We had to do the work and switch him over. They use hand signals because the puppies do not know what the word is for the command. The gentle leader is just an easy way out to get the dog to heel without teaching him to actually heel. This was a waste of a couple grand!! The Saturday morning classes are useless and the trainers/owners, Rob and Diane, have no clue. Compulsion is put on these puppies at such a young age and it doesn't end up turning out good in the end.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - John R.Costa Mesa, CA4337Jul 21, 2012
We just completed the 6 week basic course with our Golden Newfie, Hawke. Our guy is a 100+ pound bundle of energy, but Robert did wonders. He is probably the best dog trainer around and transformed our buddy into a new dog. We are repeat customers and confidently recommend this training facility.
