Art School 99

I have been a student at Art School 99 for 3+ years now and highly recommend it. Art & Science are synergistic and enjoyable together for me. Alexandra Rozenman is an accomplished professional artist and also the best teacher I ever had-- patient, kind and open to new ideas. The school is very well organized and a vibrant community. Reasonable price, appropriate materials included. It was and still is a great finding.

Simply extraordinary: Alexandra is a phenomenal teacher who is both passionate and amiable. I was a bit nervous as I did not have any experience with painting, but she provided lots of feedback. Plus, I really like that the classes are in Alexandra's studio. The creativity is in the air, and it's contagious! Can't wait to come back for more!!

I was very excited to try out the couples paint workshop and booked as a birthday present for my husband. With less than a few hours notice I received an email from Alexandra canceling the class because we were the only 2 people enrolled. When I explained to her that it was a birthday present and we had already secured a babysitter she still refused to continue the class and asked us to rebook at another time. Thankfully I was able to salvage the night and find something else to do, but Alexandra's refusal to continue the class merely because we were the only 2 enrolled was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I will not book with her again and will would encourage others to beware.

I took Alexandra's Art Lab class for three session. I learned a lot and at the end of it, I had a great painting that far exceeded my expectations! Alexandra taught us about color theory, color mixing, and a bit about composition. I'd definitely take a class at Art School 99 again!

I really enjoy going to Art School 99 because I can improve my skills in a studio environment that is inspiring and also relaxed. I have been going for about 7 months and have completed a few original acrylic works. I can see that my painting is improving and I am much more confident. I look forward to my weekly trips and I couldn't recommend this school highly enough for people who want a place to have fun while they grow as painters starting at ANY level... Alexandra is patient and encouraging, and she works with you where you are. Her workshops are great, so even if you do not want to commit to regular trips, you can get a lot out of a one-time visit to Art School 99.

I've been with Art School 99 for 2 months and love this place! Very chilled and easy going artistic environment. Alexandra helped me to expand upon styles I was interested in, as well as my natural hand. Each class I was learning something new. Her advice and critiques of one's work were always spot on and helpful to further the artistic eye. The hours and classes fit my schedule very well and was in a convenient location. Check it out!

I loved going here! I haven't painted since I was a child and this was a very fun class... we learned the basics and techniques on the first night and produced paintings in other classes. It was a relaxing and fun way to learn and be creative.

I took a couples' painting class. Neither of us had painted before, but we still had a good time because teacher was fun and patient and explained well. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and we were very happy with how the painting turned out. :-)

We really enjoyed our class with Alexandra. It was great. We were beginners but she made us feel very comfortable and free to express ourselves in our paintings. We really enjoyed the class!
