The architecture of the actual museum is very beautiful! I love the windows to view the water and how they accentuate the pieces on display.
When you first walk in there is a cute gift shop, you check in here before entering. They have a fun museum bingo sheet to take with you and can bring back for free stickers. It made my experience more interactive!
There are two seperate second floors so make sure you check out both! Also, they have a restaurant, Elizabeth's, which is Mediteranean inspired brunch food. It overlooks the water and I would love to come back and try them out.
I went during December so they had their Christmas tree display which is a local school contest of handmade decorated trees. The museum also has a bunch of work done by local and college artists. Overall, a good experience and a nice way to spend a few hours in Corpus.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dee D.West Omaha, NE, NE01Feb 21, 2024
black and white photographs took me back to a time before I existed. I was expecting MUCH more art in a gallery space this large. besides that, the main entrance doors were locked and had no signage as to the temporary entrance; the elevators were "out", making it difficult for an older person to get to the 2nd floor exhibits; AND the air conditioning wasn't workin! come on, city of Corpus Christi, I KNOW you have more pride than this! (P.S. the gal at the front desk/gift shop was very friendly and wanted to help me enjoy the museum despite the issues mentioned above-give her a raise)!

Total disappointment. In part because several of the galleries were closed. In part because it's not well kept or maintained.
I'm not sure I'd recommend anyone investing the time to go there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa C.Walnut Creek, CA5566341281Aug 5, 2022
Clean and super friendly staff! We loved the kids storybook upstairs collection and read books to the kids - it is kid friendly and easily doable in 2 hours. I love the diversity of the collections and I like the outside patio views and how open it is. I wish we could've had time to stop and eat at the cafe but we were on the way out. Great family spot to stop and appreciate diverse art in many mediums.

Lots of amazing works of art, all of which can be photographed without a flash...except for the animation section. Pretty amazing to view art with the battleship Lexington as the background. Try Hester's café inside the museum for coffee , meals and snacks.

Not a ton of artwork but it was well worth the visit. In comparison to other museums they are priced significantly lower. There is a restaurant inside of the museum that I did not eat at but smelled great! There's also a children's room filled with toys, books, and computers which my three year old adored.

Very good museum. Great place for the silent disco for the Fiesta de la Flor event honoring Selena Quintinilla Perez. Glad these guys are on board with the festival this year. Along with the Mercado sponsored by Herrman & Herrman attorneys inside the American Bank Center it makes the whole thing much much better.

Definitely worth a visit. Not huge, but still well worth a few hours of time. The vast majority of the art is modern - Location is lovely - right on the waterfront and the grounds are gorgeous. The display of glass art with the huge plate glass window facing the bay behind alone with worth the trip.
One thing I want to note in particular - if you are a fan of the giant Texas landscape paintings of Dennis Blagg, you must visit. Looking at Blagg's work in a book or on a computer screen does not have anywhere the same impact as it does when you see it in person, in real life, at full size. The way he portrays the blinding Texas sun is amazing and unique. You can almost feel the heat coming off the rocks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dallas K.Houston, TX292611026Jul 17, 2016
There is some really cool artwork here. I loved the bright colors and original ideas. I recommend stopping by if you're in Corpus Christy. I was actually really surprised to find such a good art museum in such a small town. It's even within walking distance from a lot of the hotels and is right by the water. There is a very nice patio outside behind the museum so you can sit by the water. Also, the green area out front is very nice. Plus there are a ton of Pokestops outside.
