The Art Association of Harrisburg, founded in 1926, is a hub of Central PA cultural events. The galleries in the historic Governor Findlay Mansion across from Riverfront Park provide exhibition opportunities for artists both regional and nationwide. The Art Association of Harrisburg is the oldest Harrisburg gallery, also offering popular art classes for children and adults in Central PA. AAH sponsors many cultural events as well, such as "The Bal Masque," Harrisburg's Mardi Gras, and the "Art of Food" competition. Visitors can stop by this top Harrisburg gallery seven days per week, and artists can explore exhibition opportunities by calling us at (717) 236-1432. The wide range of art classes for children and adults are held during four semesters annually, while the Central PA cultural events sponsored by The Art Association of Harrisburg occur regularly throughout the year.

The Art Association is nestled downtown just around the corner from the library. I've lived in the area my whole life and never even knew it was there!
I took a wonderful paint class with a top notch artist to teach us. Her directions were clear, she didn't move too fast, and she was always willing to help.
I so enjoyed myself. So much that I'm thinking of taking up classes there. They offer watercolor, acrylic, and oil paint classes. I'm really intrigued by the clay class held in their clay studio on Reservoir Park. The prices are very reasonable too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 17135502Apr 19, 2024
This location was not easy to find. I looped around several times looking to see where I could get to the parking lot behind but wasn't able to find. I opted to park a few blocks closer to restaurant row. Aside parking difficulties, it's so beautiful to be right at the waterfront! Beautiful views!! The building is from the 1920s but it's very run down. I took a paint class downstairs and there was an odor of urine and mildew. My allergies acted up! The class was phenomenal, the instructor took time to teach proper brush strokes to achieve the dynamic high lights and cloud formations a well as the lights reflecting off of water. Carrie is a great teacher, I truly enjoyed the class! They offer a great selection of classes at a great value!

One of the neat things about walking around the riverside area of Harrisburg is walking into this old historic building to appreciate the works of local artist of Pennsylvania! It's an interesting experience to say the least where you can see all kinds of paintings, photography, sculptures and even jewelry.
Our visit today there just happened-to be a party and while we walked around we also enjoyed the music of a pianist.
The association also has classes for young artists.
So if you're down around the riverfront take a little time and stop into the Art Association of Harrisburg and view their galleries.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
