Foie gras slider (one per order ), beef tartare with lotus root chips = delicious!
Lobster pot pie, lobster consumme = really good, but prob wouldn't order again.
Duck fat fries = tastes like regular fries.

I'm a bit shocked by how I feel about this place....
The good:
1. Service is great!
2. Free French Fries...yay
3. Ambiance is wonderful
4. Truffle Mac and cheese... nommmmmm
5. Presentation, all the food was plated well
The bad:
1. Price-$100 a person with only having a single drink
2. Filet was just ok... nothing special
3. Tuna Tartare lacked flavor... I didn't even finish t
4. Was honestly, just expecting more from a Michael Mina restaurant
I would honestly, not come back.... seriously not worth the price. Especially when you have The Grill, Morton's and Il Pastio all within a block.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 17160510Aug 17, 2018
My hole family come here for a dinner and I had a high expectation since the restaurant is at a high end Hotel however, the service is very lacking here, they will give you a seat and get your order give you your food and you will be on your own, no one ever check on you if everything is well .
We brought our wine and cork fee is $25 but when we asked the waiter to decant the wine he didn't even asked us if we want to decant the whole bottle, I believe a good expensive restaurant should always ask the customers. The food is well prepared however with a place that have a $35 average price shouldn't lack anything in my opinion. Will I come again? No, there are other steak place with a better service in San Jose.
I think the chef and the manager are trying because they serve a nice French fries on the house but to me that doesn't do the justice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 1, 2017
Parking is $4 if you eat at the restaurant which is a great option in downtown.
Food was ok and service was very slow even though the restaurant was virtually empty.
I ordered the crab cake burger along with ahi tuna tartare as appetizer. This plus a burger came out to 70$ plus which would be ok except I did not really enjoy it. Would not return.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 30, 2016
If there is one thing I don't need in my life, its complimentary Duck Fat Fries. Really? Complimentary? Of course I ate them. Since, you can eat as many fries that you didn't order and the calories don't count. Right?
The cocktail list is creative and so well balanced. I loved the Oorey Long Cocktail. It was a delicious coconutty concoction.
I started with an order of the Butternut Squash Soup. It was phenomenal! Along with my soup I had the Scallops and Scallions. So delicious. The flavor combination was so rich and new for me.
I also had the Pork Belly. It was so succulent and crispy. Keep it crispy should be everyones new motto.
I have to add that while my waiter was great and friendly. The service was slow for a Wednesday night. I was alone and did a lot of reading on my phone in between dishes.
I saw a young mom and dad with a one year old sit, wait. Then leave. I think they felt uncomfortable about bringing a baby into such a nice place. A tip to new parents, don't be afraid to bring as many home snacks for babies when going to a restaurant. Especially a very nice place. There isn't always food a baby will eat on the menu. And definitely don't forget the toys. Ive take two children 5 and under into some fancy places. Keep them snacking and playing and no one will even notice. Heck, bring bad snacks. Anything to keep em quiet.
Back to the food. The Beef Tartare was oh your god amazing! With the Quail Egg on top, stop it with the goodness already!
The only thing that was bad were the Fried Brussels Sprouts. They were extremely salty and it hard to chew. I told the waiter. I usually don't do that. I usually just keep it to myself, but these were so bad. Like they let someone back there who had no idea how to cook, cook these.
He was awesome and said that they had the same complaint earlier and that they would take them off my bill. Again, I never do that, but they were soooo bad.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 0 - 5773723500May 15, 2018
The restaurant is beautiful inside. We had a quiet lunch here after checking in to our hotel. Service was very slow and our server was a little rude at first, but they made up for it in the end and were very nice and accommodating.
Cesar Salad was crisp and fresh.
Duck fat fries were delicious.
Arnold Palmer was cold and refreshing.
Burger was big and flavorful.
Fried chicken sandwich was AMAZING!
We finished off with coffee and tea and enjoyed the views of the people walking by outside.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - JENNIFER S.San Jose, CA152162711Apr 16, 2019
Who knew such a lovely restaurant is so close to home. Fancy flatware.
As a yelper, I appreciate when people step out of their comfort zone to order something different. That's what I did; this dinner.
I started with a "Smoking Blackberry" $23 drink and it delivered a bit of entertainment with that price tag. I thoroughly enjoyed when it reached our table it was in a glass smoke box and that smokey smell wafted into my nostrils when I sipped on my lightly sweet drink. With a solid shot of liquor it was all I needed. A definite treat. Too bad Yelp doesn't let us post quick 10 sec videos to see my excitment. Their drinks also come with one nice large cube of ice.
Next we went with the Tuna tartar with a quail egg. The presentation was clean and the waiter mixed on the various separate ingredients together. The tuna tasted fresh, not fishy and a nice density. My only disappointment was with the appetizer. Despite the delicious tartar it came with super lightly toasted white bread triangles, which tasted a little stale more than toasted. That was a serious let down; I had wished it were fried wontons or crisped gold beet.. Idk. anything but white bread. :(
Every table receives complimentary seasoned french fries. Three small containers with three different seasons and dips to go along with the flavors. I thought it was genius for a steakhouse because everyone loves meat and potatoes, right!
I ordered the braised short ribs. The presentation was ok. It was hard to differentiate the meat from the roasted veggies on top of it, especially with the dimmed lighting. The menu said glazed carrots and I thought it would as a full carrot maybe roasted but the carrots were thinly sliced and just a few slices at that but it also came with a roasted sweet onion all on top of an orange puree and the gremolata sauce on the side. Now don't hold me to knowing what gremolata is, it had a sweet taste to it. I only used a bit.
My husband ordered the pork chop. Oh my, not something I'd go to a restaurant to buy however these have changed my mind. 2 meaty chops on his plate. Cooked to perfection with the taste of the grill and nice and juicy. Best pork chop I've ever had.
Sides we ordered the: Sunchokes and mushrooms. I've never had a sunchoke so when the waiter described it as tasting like an artichoke with a potato texture; he nailed it. With a light coating and a sauce they were delicious! I'll buy again. The wild mushrooms were also very tasty. I didn't know what kind we were getting so I was happy to try them. They had a bit of texture which required a bit of chewing; so they were not mushy; I'd describe as hearty with seasoning.
Dessert: I ordered creme brulee with a sugar cookie or something beneath it and on top was a scoop of raspberry sherbert. It was nice and light. I probably wouldn't order it again considering what I had to compare it too. My husband ordered the beignets. OMG, I may just go for some coffee and these. They came with an amazing creamy caramel or something. It honestly didn't matter because they were just ridiculous.
They also gave us a complimentary "Happy Anniversary" piece of chocolate cake. It tasted a bit like chocolate cherry something. I'm not a huge "cake" fan so it was average. I took one bite and didn't care for more.
This was quite the treat. The bill was about $300 but we ate and tried all we wanted. Well worth being spoiled with yumminess.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2015
Great restaurant by Michael Mina! Arcadia delivers as a nice place for an affordable special occasion dinner
---Amuse bouche: duck fat fries 3 ways with 3 sauces. Good & perfect since we were going to order the full dish of this to try anyways
---oysters rockefeller: nothing special
---chilean sea bass: nice light dish, loved the crispy layer encrusting the melt in your mouth fish
---wagyu: a flavorful & tender piece of beef from the grill menu
---truffle mac & cheese side: good but nothing ground breaking
---smashed potatoes side: GET IT, perfect crust on the outside, nice & salty! way better than eating mashed potatoes (although i havent tried arcadia's mash)
---complimentary chocolate bon bons for my birthday: a pleasant and delicious surprise with a candle! loved the one with the frozen inside.. never had a bon bon like it!
NOTE: there's also a bar area if you're looking for a casual night, i wonder if you can order the smashed potatoes thereHelpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Uracha Y.San Diego, CA151119522Dec 2, 2018

Great food and AMAZING service. I came for a business lunch after a conference and had a taste for creme brûlée for days. Although not on the menu our server brought the chef out and to our request, he prepared the desert! Where do you get service like this? This never had this happen even in a super upscale restaurants.
And I must say, it was delicious, the flavor mix was superb.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 7, 2019Previous reviewGreat food and AMAZING service.
