Apna Punjab

Came to check out the lunch buffet over the weekend, $11.99 pp from 11-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Figured it would be a good way to see if we liked their food. No real easy way to get there and is located in a rather sad looking lot but don't let that deter you from trying the place. We were warmly greeted and the staff is very friendly.

It's definitely not the kind of spread you see at a Chinese buffet - but sometimes I think it's better to have a limited selection with what you do best. Unfortunately, they didn't have everything labeled so I'm not sure what some of the things I ate were - daring, I know! I enjoyed mostly everything I took - the tandoori chicken was a bit dry but they brought out more later on that was a bit juicier. The spinach chicken was delicious as well as what looked to be chicken masala.

They do bring out fresh naan to the table and it was good especially with the dipping sauces. My faves were the tamarind and the mint sauces. Overall, would come back although something didn't agree with me - I'd risk it again.

Indian food in the middle of Rehoboth. I was not expecting much.

I went for the buffet, and I have to admit that the food was amazing. The butter chicken was delicious, and the samosas were probably some of the best I've ever had. There was a bigger selection than most buffets, several meat, veggie and bread options that left me stuffed. I also love that they bring a basket of fresh naan to the table, since it tends to get really gross under a heat lamp.

I got a masala tea that was also top notch. They made it with steamed milk and it was delicious, not too sweet. The service was wonderful as well, although it was fairly empty when I went. Not sure how it would be during a busy time.

I'd highly recommend that this restaurant owner open up a branch in Providence. I think they would easily compete with the other Indian Restaurants here, if not outshine them.

Best Indian Restaurant in the Rhode Island and Souther Massachusetts Area!

Let me start by saying that I am an Indian. I am very picky about Indian food. I have tried almost all of the Indian restaurants in the Rhode Island area. This is the one that I keep going back to. I started coming here when they first opened. If you are looking for authentic Indian food then come here. If you like Indian food that is anything but authentic then go somewhere else. The food is outstanding. The owner Jay is always welcoming. The chef is very talented.
My favorites are the Methi Chicken, Lamb Kabob, Chicken Biryani and Tandoori Roti. My advise is when you get there ask if there are any dishes that they have made that are not on the menu. I have had few dishes off the menu that were out of this world. Also let the waiter or waitress know the level of spices that you like.
The only negative is the location. The restaurant is located in the heart of Rehoboth, MA in a plaza.
I have never tried they Buffett so I can not comment on that. I have never been here for Lunch only dinners. If you go enough times you will see that there are a lot of Indians that visit this restaurant frequently. That is the best complement for an Indian restaurant.

Ugh! We've been there couple of times. The last time we visited they didn't accept any cards. So, had to run to the ATM to get cash. It's no big deal. We got a aloo chaat for appetizer. That is what pissed us off.

That dish is totally ineligible to be called as chaat. It is basically boiled mashed potatoes with couple of chickpeas tossed on it, along with some onions and barely clinging on chaat masala. Oh, I forgot the couple of cilantro leaves.

This dish is basically a disgrace to chaat. Obviously we won't be going here again.

First time having Indian food and went with a friend who has. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and took care of the menu items after asking us our likes and dislikes.

Everything was super delicious, especially their curry chicken. My friend it was the best curry she's tasted so far.

Will be back

This is our second visit here. Reducing another star as we are seeing consistent issues with their service. Delay in taking order, serving wrong food at wrong table, delay in serving even appetizers. More than the food, its the service which is making our every visit here "annoying"

This was just an odd experience. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the buffet was set up. We had never been before. We were quickly seated by what I believe to be the owner. He brought us water right away, but no menu.

There were plenty of signs around that said full bar, but we were never asked what we wanted to drink. After about 5-10 minutes he came back up to us, still with no menus and asked if we were having the buffet.

We did decide to have the buffet. Most of the food I tried was tasty, but there were no signs indicating what each items was, so it was tough to decide what to try. Some items were only lukewarm and the salad was brown, wilted lettuce.

This will be our only visit.

We thought this place was fantastic for an Indian buffet, only wish it were closer to us! We drove all the way from Rhode Island because there is a lack of good Indian buffet food here.

The buffet had a great array of choices, most everything we tried was tasty. Good vegetarian options. Naan bread was absolutely fabulous, top notch. I would say that the food was a little heavier than some might like, i.e. more ghee in the gravies, but it was very enjoyable for us. Service was great though, but it was buffet lunch and sadly we were almost the only ones there. Unfortunate if the people of the Rehoboth area don't appreciate this gem!

Amazing buffet. Fair pricing. Mostly empty when we got here around 2:30pm. The server and owner were great in accommodating us that late.
I hear that the a la carte menu is fairly good too.

We've been to this restaurant multiple times now and have recommended it to everyone for the amazing food and service that it has to offer.

We even catered from here for a party of 50 people, and Jay along with his brother did an unbelievable job in preparing more than enough quantity of food, and the quality was beyond anyone's expectations. We had family visiting from Punjab and they couldn't believe how yummy the food was. Jay and his brother were very accommodating in our requests and made sure the catering was delivered as promised.

Apna Punjab has the best Punjabi food in all of New England area! We'll keep going back, and continue to send more clients their way!
