Just a little update:
I took a starters photography class with my friend here, which consisted of two, 2hr long sessions. We each chipped in $75 and had an absolute blast working with Scott.
He asks you exactly what you're going to be taking pictures of and tailors his teachings to help you achieve what you're going for. Whether you're taking pictures as a hobby, for family memories or you're looking to go pro, Scott can give you a great stepping stone.
We left with so much more knowledge about how to not only work our cameras, but all the photography basics, all while having a blast.
Aperture's photography classes are highly recommended!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Feb 20, 2013Previous reviewI've been patiently waiting to write a review for one of my favorite shops around until I was able to come back and purchase something...
FINALLY!
I'm a proud new camera momma of a Nikon D3100 and since I purchased it at a big box store (phenomenal sale,) I swore to myself that all other accessories and camera equipment would be purchased locally. You know, like I needed a nudge to revisit Aperture anyways...
I knew exactly where I wanted to go for unique, vintage camera accessories and I rearranged my schedule to get there as soon as possible (that's how excited I was.) The owner, Scott, really knows cameras and photography. The shop is mostly vintage film cameras and instant film cameras, but the owner also has a photography business. He knows digital and analog like the back of his hand. Scott also hosts photography hikes, has classes and film developing workshops in his in-shop blackroom. I signed up for a class with two of my friends and we cannot wait to go.
Getting back to what I bought, an awesome vintage camera strap came home with me and now dons my Nikon. I couldn't be happier. I plan on not only coming back for my class, but for a new camera bag, as well! (And probably more classes...)
P.S. If you love instant photography, I don't think you'll find a better selection of film at a better price with a cooler shop owner to chat with... just saying.
