If you're into toxic positivity, lack lackluster service and high end rates, this is the place for you. Prices have gone up, quality has gone down. Have switched which hair care products they offer to some generic looking brand called Goldwell and no longer offer Amika products. Hygiene and sanitation do not seem to be the owners first priority. Massage rooms have been downsized and they no longer have sink access; if you'd like to wash your hands or freshen up after your massage, you must use the one in the restroom around the corner and your massage therapist must go across the building to use the one in the employee lounge to wash their hands. Don't worry though, aesthetic rooms do have sinks as they are legally required to by law; those treatment rooms have also been downsized.
If you are looking for a great spa day experience, I would not recommend. If you want to over spend on hair and nails, then this is the place.

I had my first experience at Anthony Johns, and can't say enough about it. Sydney did an amazing job with the color I wanted. Thank you Sydney, and conversation was good too. ha ha

Buyer beware, this is NOT an Aveda Salon, even though they sell some Aveda products. Their stylists are not Aveda trained nor is the hair color products they use Aveda. But when booking an appointment I was told they were an Aveda salon. That was my first mistake. I went in with a specific formula that I brought with me from a previous Aveda salon. The girl who did my highlights was confident that she could match it. The results were horrible. My hair is over processed with huge streaks of color running throughout. I left the salon not happy but waited one day to see if I felt better about it. The next day I called to speak to the manager. She didn't return the 2 calls I left that day. The next day, I called again. This time we had a conversation. She was apologetic over the misrepresentation of her salon and told me she would try to get the correct Aveda color in stock and would call me back. Never called back and once again I had to call her and was told she was not in. Today, I wake up to see a credit for the service on my credit card, minus the $20 tip! Not sure why the girl that ruined my hair gets to keep her tip!

10/10 my experience was wonderful, I always get polite and timely service. I love that they call and send text reminders for appointments. Will be returning!

I had my hair washed and styled there for the most important day of my life. The result was horrible. The stylist used a small curling iron haphazardly so all the curl was uneven and mostly fell out within an hour. My hair for the event was unstyled and looked worse than if I had done nothing. She should have used a large round brush and more styling products. I will forever look at the photos and videos from that day and be embarrassed at how horrible my hair looked. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere if you want your hair styled.

Went in and had my hair done with "fashion color", The stylist did not do a great job and my hair was stripey, an uneven color and not even the color i had asked for. I called the next day to have it fixed. They gave me a date 8 weeks out saying that was the earliest they had. I said okay, when i went in to have it fixed they handed me a $150 bill. When i went over that this should be a fix i was told i would get a call to go over the charge. 2 days later i receive a call and they tell me " my service was scheduled to late to be a fix", and i have to pay for the service. I do not recommend this salon. They do not care about their customers at all. Punishing a client for not coming in soon enough when that is the appointment you book for them is ridiculous. You should look at your business practices and learn to take care of your clients better.

I had a massage and a brow wax in the past here at AJ's. I enjoyed my services then so, decided I would give their nail services a try.

Brooke did my pedicure. She was really good. Brooke was soft spoken, which helped me relax during my pedi. She shared conversation with me but wasn't intrusive when I wanted to close my eyes or work on my crochet project. I was offered bottled water, tea and coffee. It was a pleasant experience..

I will definitely get my next pedicure done here.

      Updated review

I wanted to update my review: Sarah Jewell has moved on, but I'm still a loyal AJ's customer. I love the facials (they use Dermalogica), and they now use R&Co and Aveda products for hair. It's easy to squeeze in an eyebrow wax at the hair-washing sink. They have an okay points-based reward system.

Why not five stars? The pedicures are overpriced for what you get (they stopped using OPI, and no top or base coat?!), though still an overall better experience here than elsewhere in town.

First experience: tried to tell the guy what color I wanted (natural looking red). I showed a picture of a girl that had the color I wanted. He saw that her roots were a different color and went with it.... Now I can't get the fake color out. The cut was ok though.

Second experience: the girl got the color right and fixed what she could of they hack job. Then... She BUTCHERED my bangs!! How the hell am I supposed to fix it? They are way too short and choppy. I said I wanted them just above the brow... They are about 1/2-1 inch shorter than that. When she asked if I wanted them thinned, I though she would thin out a few pieces to give texture like every other time I got my hair cut. I am EMBARRASSED to go out... But alas, I have to work. Rule number one, You DON'T cut bangs when they are wet because they shrink... Shaking my head... Praying that they grow fast before my vacation in 2 days... The pictures are going to be horrible. :-(

      I will not return.

Had my first ever Brazilian wax here. I know I should have spoken up the second I walked into the room but I regretfully bit my tongue., as I was so nervous. There were 3 metal wax spatulas in a canister of water next to the container of wax. After she started waxing me I realize that she is sticking these spatulas back in the water, then back in the wax pot, in rotation! Im pretty sure thats what they call double dipping, I have no idea who was there before me or who will be there after me. It makes my stomach churn.

I don't think she was going with the true grain of my hair either because I was covered in broken capillaries immediately into this process. I watched enough videos of women getting waxed prior to this visit. Everything felt off.

Only hours later I am redder than a tomato, in excruciating pain, and swollen. The whole lower half of my body is on fire and I feel feverish. I decide to go to the doctor first thing in the morning. The female Dr said she had gotten plenty of waxes and seen many cases of bikini rash but nothing this bad before. I had to be given a topical AND oral antibiotic for folliculitis. (skin condition in which hair follicles become inflamed. It's usually caused by a bacterial or fungal infection.) Perhaps from the cesspool waxing pot and double dipped sticks....

So for all you ladies that were/are too nervous to listen to your initial gut instinct, let me help you out a little. Do NOT get a wax from this place. DO NOT. I am absolutely horrified from this entire experience. I'm sure their hair cuts are great, but i'll take a hard pass on their dirty waxing practices.
