I was hoping to get a custom "Blaze and the monster machines" cake for my son's 3rd birthday party. I'd always seen Angela's sign on Fort St, so I contacted her and received a prompt response.
I went in to place my order and place the $20 deposit on my $40 cake, and gave Angela a brief description of what I wanted.
When I picked up the cake, I was thrilled! It was exactly what I had in mind, and the "Blaze" figurine on top really put it over the top. Awesome work!
Even better was the flavor of the icing and the cake itself. I got a two layer cake. One layer chocolate, one vanilla. The cake was beyond delicious, and fed over 10 people with plenty to spare.
Angel runs the show with the help of her daughter, so don't be discouraged if she doesn't answer on the first ring, she's probably baking!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Trina M.Southgate, MI2842Aug 6, 2019
This is my second review for Angels. My first one was for the gourmet cupcakes I had for my daughters wedding. So many compliments on those. They were original and everybody loved them. My second review is on their cakes. I ordered a round monster cake for my grandsons first birthday along with a smash cake which was huge!!. Everybody gave rave reviews again. Moist, not too sweet, just perfect. I recommend them for any gathering, big or small. You will not regret it. They are very friendly and accomodating so thats a plus.

I love her sweets! From the sugar cookies to her cakes! It's allllll good! I got my daughters Unicorn Cake from here and it was beautiful! And the smash cake was cute too! We did a sweet table with everything from Carmel apples to chocolate covered strawberries! It was all great! I would definitely recommend this place!

I ordered a Big Bang Theory cake here and I loved the flavor of the icing and the chocolate cake was very moist. The cake was done on time and it made the recipient very happy. He loved the ball pit!
My regret is that I asked for icing instead of fondant and the icing was really heavy on the side with "Bazinga!" It pulled the icing down and exposed the chocolate cake before we even got it to the party. I was able to push it back up and hold it with toothpicks temporarily.
Overall I was pleased. The cake was delicious, it went over well, and my fiancé was happy. She had it ready for me in a timely fashion.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jenaro R.Chicago, IL1161711Aug 3, 2017
Angel's Bake-n-Cakes was wonderful with my last-minute custom cupcake request. The price was VERY reasonable and once the order was placed, messaging on Facebook messenger was the best way to communicate and the communication went very smoothly. I was provided with updates and notified when the cupcakes were ready. The birthday boy said "Im in love. They're beyond perfect. I feel over the moon." THAT'S priceless! Thank you, Angel's Bake-n-Cakes!

Went here for custom Lego and Helly Kitty cupcakes for my kids' birthday party. I can't remember if she gave me her name or not, but she was wearing a chefs' jacket, so I assumed she was the owner...Anyways..."Angel" gave me a great price and had no problem with the custom cupcakes. I went to several bakeries before here and I'm so glad I chose them. Cupcakes were adorable and delicious. Moist and the buttercream icing did not disappoint.
My sister also bought her custom sports themed three tiered baby shower cake from here too. She found a picture on pinterest...brought it in and Angel has ZERO PROBLEM with trying to match the picture. She also went with the banana cake flavor and it was awesome. My sister had compliments on the cake from everyone.
I love that this is a family business and that I feel my business is wanted and appreciated by the owner.
I don't have complaints, but I was sad that there was nothing to buy out of the display case.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Raquel G.Allen Park, MI09Dec 29, 2016
I ordered the Emogi poop cake & despite it being so realistic --it was delicious & moist . She is a true artist & her love for baking must be the "special " ingredient that makes her cakes amazing. Everyone raved about it . How wonderful to find such a gem of a bakery in our neighborhood & so reasonably priced !!!
Angela was amazing & so helpful --in this day of nonchalance & non existent customer service she actually made me feel special & was there to work for me .
This will be my new "go to place" for all my special cakes in the future ---I only hope she doesn't get too popular & busy for when "i" need her !!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amber H.Southgate, MI88884Sep 26, 2015

Rude. Poor customer service. Treats customers as if not important. Poor attention to detail. Angel's partner argued with another customer when the customer complained about her cake pick up time. The partner stated that she had a meeting with a restaurant because they got a new contract and that was more important than the customer since the customer was a few minutes late to pick up her cake. I ignored their argument and placed an order. Upon pick up of my cake, I found that the spelling was abbreviated when I specifically asked for the word to be spelled out. Angela said that that "most people don't mind abbreviation" and that "only certain people are specific" and that she treats those people a different way. She stated that this was not a wedding cake and that no one cares what is on the cake! I tried to stress that even those she did not think the details were important, they would be important to my guests. Angela did not seem to care and even stated that Costco would be a better option for me next year. This company seems to take customers for granted...perhaps it is because they have gotten new contracts with a couple of local businesses. I have ordered several cakes from Angela and the cakes are ok. The Costco cake actually tastes better and costs much less. This cake cost our company more than $100! A Costco cake costs $20 so of course, I expected Angela and Angels Bake N Cakes to pay attention to detail and provide what I wanted. If what I wanted was not possible, I expected a phone call. Would not recommend due to poor customer service. I always try to support black-owned businesses but not in this instance. Angela this cake was purchased for a large organization and could have garnered a good deal of business for your company. I suggest your working to improve your customer service towards individual customers and not just focus on business contracts. If you keep turning away customers, eventually you won't have enough to sustain your business. Don't take your customers for granted.
