Angelo's Pizza

There's nothing I'd change about this place. The food is excellent. The service is great.

Our waitress was very friendly and Omg the stuffed pizza and salad was delicious and my beautiful lady and I just had an awesome meal and great experience at a clean and family friendly environment.Thus was my first of many meals at Angelo's I'm already craving more!!

Slow service. All of the pasta sauces tasted like water and were mostly water. Burned all the wings we ordered. Would not recommend.

It's not a lavish place but the food is pretty good Italian, You must try it sure to not be disappointed.

It's been years since the last time I ate here but I found myself in Mattoon with over an hour to kill and an empty stomach.

This is a relatively unassuming place in a relatively backwater town in eastern Illinois. Not really somewhere you wind up accidentally even though they are the home of Lender's Bagels.

I ordered an 8" stuffed pizza with no intention of finishing it. I did make it through 3 of the 4 slices before giving up but that's really just because I had a meeting to attend followed by a 2.5 hours drive.

Notes on the pie:

They use a relatively under-seasoned tomato sauce that will appeal to the masses but requires the addition of garlic powder and red pepper flakes to suit my taste. Just ask and they will bring them to you. The sausage and onions were both well proportioned and of good quality. Their cheese is bountiful and delicious. There seems to be a hint of sweetness but I was unable to isolate which ingredient brought it to the party. The dough is just about perfect. Crunchy on the outside yet chewy on the inside, slightly salty and rolled into a doughy circle at the top of the sides of the pie (see pictures). I love that touch!

There was mold in my sweet tea , and I would never drink a drink here again. And the server said that was disgusting

Angelo's has been her my whole life and I eat here every time I come back to Mattoon. Great food and friendly environment.

Angelo's has a great Wednesday spaghetti that's great. + the house dressing is excellent.

This place has your pretty standard Italian food. It's mostly a pizza place that also specializes in pasta. They have a good pizza skillet which is what it sounds like. But I would recommend if you want pizza to just go ahead and get the pizza instead. Honestly my biggest surprise of this place was the chicken boat. It's basically a skillet made with breaded chicken cooked in BBQ sauce with bacon and cheese. It's really good. Get that if you want an appetizer.

The best I have had for a long time . We had the stuffed 14 inch deluxe. Great , great ,great !
