This is a cute little community park.
There is one larger playground, and an enclosed toddler area. Toddler area has a mini fire truck to climb on, some teeter-totters, and mini house structures. I thought the kid sized picnic tables and acorn seats were really cute.
The bathrooms are currently open. There are also tennis and basketball courts.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Luz D.Redwood City, CA558477Oct 18, 2020
Our neighborhood park. Playground is now open. Pretty impressed with how clean and spotless the play structures looked after the new COVID 19 closure. New signage with rules is visa me and hand wash station is available.

It's a fine park! Plenty of shade and space to run around in! I've swing upside down from and walked atop the monkey bars then slid down all the connecting slides plenty of times. Loved walkin along the top of the kiddie fence railings as if I were on a high wire pretending to be a kid again!
Parents and kids would look at me as I were crazy!
Not feelin that bold!? Then sooth yourself on the swing set, but be sure to take turns w the lil dudes!
We've even brought delicious freshly grilled chicken from the local Michoacan Pollos al Carbon at 3380 Middlefield Rd Menlo Park to share under the shade of the trees! Or bring your own carne asada! We're Mexican dude so we didn't do pb&j or cute dainty cucumber mayo ham sandwiches and tea.
My son grew up here.
People gripe bout the litter...
Lemme tellya that as a former neighborhood citizen, I did my part to pick up trash! Why bitch when you can be proactive!?
What's more, the city does utilize court ordered community service by those whom've broken the law to make rounds throughout all of RWC. Those that've posted their remarks about the litter don't know much cuz they didn't spend much time there.
It saddens me that those littering folks don't teach their kids to be more responsible. I always made sure my son never got into that bad habit.
There are some ghetto and 3rd world people that don't care about littering. If you're reading this and had a pizza party or picnic there and let your kids make a mess of the place then you know who you are. I witnessed it for years and simply tried to set an example by picking up their trash in front of them.
Take care of the places you dwell in or visit. They're only as ugly as the people who make them so.
Water sprinkler season's slightly more limited due to the current drought.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Norma Denisse S.Mesa, AZ173470320Jul 29, 2008
I remember when it used to have the big tire swing and the metal slide that burned in the summer time. It has completely changed from when I was a kid.
They moved the fire station on the corner which gave room for a small playing field and picnic tables. They added a water feature to the park and upgraded all the playground equipment.
It has a small basket ball area and a large tennis court next to it. The water feature is fun for the kids too.
This is a small park so parents please, WATCH YOUR KIDS, The Popsicle truck drives around and parks near the sidewalk, be careful that your children don't run into the street.
Other than that, it should be fun.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Marion M.San Francisco, CA29612296Jan 31, 2022
The park is a nice little getaway as long as you leave before the school kids get out. We got there around 2 and by 330ish it was filled with kids with no manners being rude and gross. Shortly after the school kids arrived a vendor arrived as well selling all kinds of snacks. I immediately thought I'd get my 5 kids some snacks to munch on and support. However shortly after my kids came up to me telling me someone was being a bully and i realized it ended up being the cart lady's kids. The kids were taunting my kids saying they couldn't have any snacks not knowing we could have bought out the entire cart if we wanted to. The lady said nothing to her kids as they ran all over the place being rude and disrespectful to other kids. She lost out on a huge sale with us probably would have been the largest order of her day but I'm not gonna support someone who can't teach their kid simple manners.

Tiny park with a couple play structures, grassy areas, a water fountain, two tennis courts, a half basket ball court, and a bathroom.
It's been significantly improved in the last couple years, and it shows on the weekends - it can be very busy with many families camping out for the whole day in areas of the grass or on the picnic benches.
At night, Police patrol the area to make sure no one is using the park to sleep in and since it can all be viewed from the street, it is a safe place at dusk.
The tennis courts are sometimes overrun by private coaches who have "reserved" them - which I think is ridiculous. Public park means public, not intended for your private lessons.
The water fountain area is a newer addition to the park and can get quite busy with kids on hot days. Make sure to bring a towel!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz T.Redwood City, CA1273Sep 20, 2017
This is a great park. I'm not sure why folks classify it as tiny or small because I find it to be quite big, with everything you could need to keep the kids entertained. Open grassy space for running, swings, several play structures, climbing/jumping off rock, toilets, basketball court, tennis court and easy parking.

This is small park in Redwood City very close to Hwy 101 between the Woodside and Marsh Road exits.
The park has the usual playground equipment plus a nice water sprinkler in the spring and summer months. Kids love running through the sprinklers and it was designed just for it. The sprinklers shoot up from the ground and some of the older kids like to stand on them or push around each other to get near them so if you have small kids they may get intimidated. It just depends how many kids are there. Generally, though this park has really well behaved kids and the other families there have always been nice.
My only complaint is that this park often has trash on the ground. It doesn't seem to get cleaned as often as some of the other parks in Redwood City, but generally speaking Redwood City has great public parks and you should take advantage of them, especially on hot days.
Fyi...this park has a lot of shade so if your kids want to run through the fountain on a very hot day this place may be a better choice than some of the other Redwood City parks.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tawny A.San Carlos, CA72453Mar 10, 2010
this is a GREAT park. discovered it today while out running errands. i love that there are two separate playgrounds (big kids, little kids) and are well enclosed by a gate. lots of green for those who want to picnic or relax and plenty of trees that provide tons of shade. the only reason i docked a star is because i don't like parks with wood chips (seems very popular in this area?). i'd prefer if it was all made of the squishy flooring that you see when you enter the playground area. wood chips just seem like it could collect bugs and things as well as give kids splinters. other than that, wonderful place to play. i also like that there is a basketball court as well as a lighted tennis court. nicely varied for everyone in the family to enjoy.

This place got a much needed makeover years ago. I agree with the first poster about everything. Please keep in mind that this is a TINY park. Watch your kids because the street is very close. Other than that, it's a pretty decent place to chill out.
