Great pizza place that aims for a target market just above the big chains (Dominos, Papa Johns, etc.). They have some interesting menu items, but everything is cooked well.

    Service is just okay.

come here for lunch and dinner now that im working in livermore.

i mean, you know it aint cheap.  every time we come here, its like 20-25 per person.  just that we always end up getting a pitcher of beer.

i say its kinda expensive for lunch.  but, that's cause of the beer.  the pizza is thin crust style and very good.  this aint no round table or dominos stuff.  its a bit better than that crap.

i especially love the caesar salad.  the dressing has some fish in it i think.  anchovies i believe.

We had a group of 4 for lunch. The first thing that grabbed me was the price. I got a side salad for $5 that was nothing more than romaine and giant slices of bell pepper with Good Seasons blue cheese dressing on it. Definitely not worth $5. Me and my buddy split a small combo pizza (10" for $17) which was tasty but sparsely topped.

Our other two diners has the small lasagna for $12.90 each. The portion size on the lasagna was enough for lunch, but not by much, and was too little for the price. I was told it was "good". The pizza was too much for too little and the salad was overpriced for such basic fare. Fountain sodas were $3 - Coke products.

Bottom line, the food was OK but a terrible value.

Yummy! Pizzas; The cheese is so good and melty and just perfectly brown. Be sure to tell them LIGHT crust or it comes out pretty charcoal like. The lasagna is very good. Just the right amount of sauce, meat and cheese. Really worth waiting a few extra minutes. Linguine with white clams sauce is a family favorite. Good portions and plenty to share. Antipasto salad really fresh and the dressings are terrific (ranch, lemon basil vinaigrette and Cesar) It's higher priced than other pizza places, but it's a completely different atmosphere and food. I don't consider this a "pizza place". It's so much more than that.

    Go! Eat! Yelp! Manga :)

I don't get what's so great about this place. I've heard quite a few people rave about it but it seems mediocre at best to me. Maybe it's the style of pizza is not what I'm accustomed to but I don't think that's it. My #1 complaint is the toppings - where the hell are they? For the amount of $ they charge I am perplexed as to why the toppings are so skimpy. If I'm paying that kind of dough for pizza, I expect that every slice have at least some of each topping. Thought it was maybe a fluke the first time I had it. Gave it a second chance the other night. Will not be ordering from here again. One of my coworkers ordered the spinich salad and to be fair, that looked quite good. Perhaps for other items they are the bees knees but 2 thumbs down for the pizza, I'd rather have Dominos :0/

Amici's always delivers, no matter where the location is. I am a pizza aficionado, and although admittedly I enjoy Domino's & Costco Pizza, I sometimes drop by here to get a taste of some high-quality, "luxury" pizza and pamper myself.

Good stuff. Always go with a salad + pizza + pasta. An adult male will probably want to order a Small-size pizza, not an Individual-size.

Pizza itself is crisp at the crust and flavorful overall. You can see that it's freshly made, baked in the good ol' oven.

Service is prompt and efficient. The interior is clean, modern, and accommodating.

    Hurrah for Amici's!

Great start and good eats for the New Year.

My parents and I went to dinner along with my uncle, my two cousins and a friend. So we arrived with a party of 7 people and the hostess let us know it'd be a 10-15 minute wait which was no problem for us. The hostess kept thanking us for our patience, but we were accommodated quickly even though our group was fairly large.

Once seated, our server Jose came to our table with an upbeat attitude, greeted us, and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. He came back with our drinks and took our orders. He constantly checked on our table and constantly refilled our cups. Long story short, Jose was a great server and the food was nothing short of delicious.

I'd recommend this pizzeria for anyone that loves good customer service along with good food. I'll be coming back when I come back home to the bay again, that's for sure.

The pizza is good. I ordered some vegetarian kind so it tasted blandish but a good bland.

Service: BAD BAD BAD. The girl who served us would take forever to service us. It took at least ten minutes before she noticed me waving my hand around or me looking at her. I asked her for some pizza sauce/tomato sauce/marinara sauce/red sauce (you know the sauce) and it didn't come to my table until twenty minutes later. (I stared at my cell watch.) Maybe I was impatient and hungry, but I know when something takes long.

They were packed when my friend and I went there. Good sign to know that the place is good.

They're pricey so I was also expecting some kind of mouth explosion of epic flavor. I expected too much because it was normal. At least it wasn't greasy though.

I may come back here to try another flavor. Pizzaaaaaaa is always yummy.

I came to Amici's with my family after a long day of snowboarding. This place is a very family friendly environment. There are always people inside and you can see the pizza being made at one part of the restaurant.

They have the best Ceasar salad I have ever tasted. The ceasar dressing they use isn't the common white creamy dressing, but I think they use olive oil and garlic and some other flavors. The croutons in it are soo good too, they taste like they have been baked fresh from the oven because they are a little chewy but perfectly crunchy at the same time.

The pizza is good too, the crust is thin and crispy and it isn't too greasy. They don't use too much cheese which is definitely a plus for me.

Huge parking lot shared by all the other restaurants around it.

After a long photo shoot, everyone was quite exhausted. We wanted to find a decent place for some lunch. We settled upon Amici's, we felt we can go a little italian that day.   Amici's has been advertising on the radio, and I always wanted to give them a try. And Amici's definitely didn't disappoint. With our table of four we ordered a large salad, margarita pizza, and a pesto clam linguine.

We first started out with the salad. The salad was quite simple and was decent regardless. We had it with two different dressings. First of which was a lemony tyme dressing and then a simple dressing. Next, up was the pasta, the pesto pasta was very good but might be a little oily for some because of the pesto. Lastly, the pizza was great! The crust has just right amount of crust and flavors of the sauce and the cheese made it taste legit. Their brick oven made it taste just great.
    -----
+ Pro: Decent thin crush pizzas.
    - Con: Service wasn't bad, but can use a little improve.
( ^_^) Overall: Great pizza and pasta.

I'm going to start off by saying that if you've ever eaten at APizza Scholls in Portland Oregon you're going to have a tough time finding a better pizza anywhere.  That aside, Amici's is not a bad place when APizza Scholls is a 10 hour drive away.

The Margherita is the best, but if you want to take some home for later the Amici's Combo travels a lot better.  Definitely eat the Margherita as soon as they a get it to you.

Their caesar salad is very good, but again nothing like APizza's Scholls version.

Overall the place is definitely worth giving a try.

I was out in at the Sheriffs Station and they decided to order a few pizzas from this place. Pizza isn't half bad of a food, but my expectation of pizza really goes up the more that is paid.

This pizza looked horrible and tasted just OK. Even the vegetarian pizza looked greasy. The pepperoni and cheese was pretty bad too. The bread tasted liked wet cardboard. The pizzas just tasted like a salted cheese tossed on top a cardboard.

I've never had the delivery service and never done take out.

Minus a star for the ridiculous prices. I seldom visit simply for this reason - like another reviewer said years ago, this is pizza, folks :^)

I've ended up on several occasions. I always found myself craving for their pizza that was pretty much had the toppings of a stuffed potato: potato, chives, sour cream. My other favorite thing to get here is the puttanesca. I always want to order their gluten free pizza, but it cost way more, and the last time I ordered it, it didn't come out fully baked.

Took the family out for dinner and we enjoyed ourselves. The pizza is delicious made with tlc and good ingredients. You pay a premium for this but the old saying you get what you pay for comes into play. I mean there are other options if you are on a tight budget. Our server Jose took good care of us and was very attentive. One thing is a mini pizza is more like a kids size so don't fool yourself and think thats all you'll eat.

This, like any chain, suffers from getting away form the original. It is still good. but the further away from the original you are, the more cookie cutter you become and chain like you are. Decent lunch, will likely go back at some point.

Still solid and tasty, just not quite as good as some of the SF originals - the Danville one has the same problem

They have an amazing thin crust here. The garlic bread with ranch is great and sometimes the reason we make a visit out here. Everything tastes fresh, everytime. We usually order the pepperoni with fresh basil. Sometimes it comes served with the basil cooked, but it's still good. Today I noticed on the menu that fresh garlic added to pizza is complimentary... tried it and it was delicious! Very fresh garlic! New favorite.

We also tried something new, the Gnocchi with pesto! I never noticed it on the menu before, probably because it looks like a separate section on the menu... almost section title "esk". Anyway, it's just potato balls (forget the word) and it was just okay. The difference with and without pesto is $3 though which is crazy considering that its a small dish and just a little pesto poured ontop. But without pesto, I don't think it would have been as great.

Our server Eddy-33 was doing an amazing job. He was busy as hell waiting on at least 6 tables, bussing, sweeping and everything and handled everything very well. Good Job Eddy-33! We'll be back, we always do.

So far, the best pizza I've had since moving to the area.  The crust is crisp, yet chewy, and flavorful.  Fired up in a brick oven gives it just the right flavor.  The staff is very friendly, and made me feel welcomed and appreciated.

I deduct one star because, for me, the part of the crust that holds the toppings could be a little thicker for more support.  Just my preference though.

First time here...my friends and i were killing time before a wedding reception and were starving. We decided to drive around and found this spot on the way. There are other Amici's in my neck of the woods but I still haven't had the time to try them out despite a lot of recommendations.

Anyways.. we came by here, picked up a pitcher of beer and two pizzas - Greek Isle and some other chicken one, i don't remember the name. I loved the Greek Isle pizza, fresh mozalerra, spinach, roma tomatoes Mmmm... maybe its because I'm obsessed with taking a trip to Greece, but either way i definitely enjoyed the pizza.

Thin vs Thick crust pizza...Ny vs Chicago. They're both very good as long as you have great toppings. I'm not a crust-ist lol.

Overall, pretty good pizza. Look forward to coming back and trying their other concoctions, however I'm not leading the race back...

I have heard people rave about Amici's for forever and I FINALLY tried it!!!

We started our meal with Garlic Breadsticks, soup and salad. The breadsticks were THE BOMB, some of the best I have ever had. Minestrone and salad were both good, nothing amazing but good.

Pizza wise we got the Amici's Combo and Spicy Pepper Chicken. The crust is perfectly thin and has a nice crisp to it.

The restaurant was really clean and had a great little patio outside. The service was great, waters stayed full and our food come promptly.

Prices were extremely reasonable considering the amount of food you get. I can't wait to come back another day to try some of the pasta dishes.

Living in Windemere in San Ramon, this is one of the few places which will deliver, so on a lazy night in this is definitely our go-to place. The Milano pizza with bacon, onions and potatoes (yes, potatoes) is DELICIOUS.

The cheesy garlic bread sticks are a steal of a deal, as is the Parmesan and butter gnocchi.

The delivery is always pretty speedy, quality is consistent and the staff is helpful (not a bad dine-in restaurant either). The only draw back is its definitely on the pricey side for pizza. You're looking at $25+ for a large, which isn't super filling.

Most people I know either love this place with a passion or would rather eat Kraft and ragu on a slice of home pride. I went to eat here tonight, and, meh, it was ok. I loved the taste of the crust, but it was on the burned (blackened, not just a dark bake) side in multiple spots.  Veggie toppings were good while the meats could be improved a bit. Overall: not bad, but a mom and pop place will leave it in the dust and have better prices. Friendly service was a plus

    Date/Time: Thursday - 6:30pm
Occasion:  Catch up with a girlfriend
    Party of:  Two
Ordered: Starter garden salad and personal size amici's combo pizza with extra garlic.
Location:  Parking is a bit of a pain on a busy night.  Eatery is clean; rather crowded but definitely gives you the East Coast pizzeria feel.  Located right inside a Safeway and Petco plaza.
    Total incl gratuity: ~$20pp

I've heard some great things about Amici's so I was definitely eager for dinner.  When I first walked in, the pizza aroma was overwhelming.  The smell tempted me to order with my stomach instead of with my head but luckily I maintained control.  My mini-pizza was a perfect size for one.  A plus is that the ingredients here are fresh and extra 'herby'.  If you're a meat and garlic lover, I highly recommend amici's combo.  I now know, however, that I am not a big fan of the thin crust.  Thin crust reminds me a dry-burnt pizza; it's good for those who don't like the more greasy thick crust, which is what I'm a fan of.  I had a nibble of my friend's vegetarian pasta - not really tasty.  It was rather flavor-less.  I think I will stick with Round Table or Skipolini's for pizza in the future.

What a place. This place is very hard to review in different aspects.

This restaurant is very nice looking. Everything is very clean, relaxing and quiet interesting. They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. The place is a little more on the smaller side, but still a very good looking place. Restrooms, chairs, tables, utensils are all very nice and clean.

The food here was very interesting. They are well known for their pizza. I went with my cousins and we decided to change up the dinner into more of a family style dinner. We ordered a large Spicy Pepper Chicken pizza with pesto sauce, a small 4 layer lasagna and a large linguini puttanesca pasta with chicken.

The pizza was very good. Not your ordinary fast food pizza with red sauce. It was a thin crust pizza filled with all kinds of flavor. The basil in the pizza spices up the taste dramatically.

The lasagna... speechless. It is FILL with flavor. The layers of sauce and flavor, the cheese, so cheesy, the pasta is nice and soft. Just an overall fantastic lasagna.

The pasta wasn't to much satisfying my taste buds. The pasta had a tremendous amount of  olives which kind of overpowered the other flavors in the pasta. The chicken was a little on the drier side which tasted a little like cardboard in my opinion.

I am a chicken guy, I love to order chicken, but if its avoidable, avoid the chicken here, just to dry.

The price here was really reasonable for an italian restaurant. our total came out to be a little under $80bucks for 4 people. We had so much food that we had to stuff ourselves at the end.

The service is VERY good here. There was a wait when we arrived, but they got us seated very quickly. After ordering the food, it was out in a matter of minutes still steaming and just ready to be eaten!

On the side note of service, I saw a few things i wish i didn't see. For example, our waiter was also the busboy and the custodian of the place. He cleaned the table as well as swept the floor. I saw him literally use his broom to sweep up the floor, wiped down the table, then set the napkins and utensils all without washing his hands. Didn't seem to sanitary to my eyes.

The KNIFE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED :) it was soooo hard to cut things (pizza) because the knife was outrageously dull. Overall, I would return to this restaurant, mostly for the pizza. Very different from other places, and great tasting as well. I saw many people order whole pizza's to take home, good idea!

This review is a little overdue. Well, almost 6 months overdue since I became an avid Yelper only recently!!

Amici's was highly recommended by some of our friends who love Pizza the East Coast way - thin.

And so, we walked into this restaurant with an intention of satisfying our taste buds and well, it did!!!

    In order of events-
We walked into the restaurant and we almost immediately seated by the server inside. We chose to sit inside since the day was rather windy. Plus, I like yellow lights. The ambiance is pretty much the same as any restaurant/pizza joint. I actually likened it to the decor that Zachary's has. We ordered our pizza instantly along with soda.

And the wait began. It took a while. We'd ordered the Siciliano and wanted it to be well done. And by that, I don't mean smelly, bitter burnt. We like our pizzas slightly burnt on the crust and the cheese to be nice and bubbly in the middle, with the meat and the veggies to be slightly burnt too.
And this pizza was perfect. It was what we wanted. Their dough was nice and soft, even after the pizza cooled down.

The service was good enough. You don't really want the server intruding every time you take a bite. They do their job of noting down your order and delivering it to you.

It is a little expensive. Our bill came up to about $30. For a pizza!! But hey, it was well worth it!!

My boyfriend, being a pizza expert from NEW YORK (the pizza capital of the world), even loves the pizza here & that's saying a lot! The crust is crisp, they put plenty of toppings, their pizza sauce is soooo good, vegan cheese tastes great, their breaded eggplant pasta dish is great, their salads are pretty good too, I'm addicted to the lemon-basil vinegarette! This particular Amicis carries the gluten free pizza crusts, they taste great & a nice option for guests with a gluten allergies!

Jose is the *BEST* server they have, he's hilarious, very friendly, has NEVER gotten an order wrong, & if the pizza is made wrong by accident, he's never reluctant to make things right, even if I enjoy the pizza made wrong because some toppings were forgotten, he still considers it to be made wrong & offers to have another one re-made. He's very attentive & our glasses are never left empty & we never run out of napkins! The other servers are good too, but Jose is our favorite, you should go in & ask to be seated at one of his tables!

The place can get loud in the evening when it's packed wall to wall, but the food is still good!! I try not to go on weekends because of the wait...dodging the massive weekend crowds by going on week nights is the best time to stop in!

Alright.  Some of you are gonna find this heresy.  But this place is the closet to the real thing I've had here.  And by real thing, I mean by Italy.  Not New York.  I've had pizza in New York.  Not the same.

First, I must point out, it's in the crust.  NY style is a flimsy style kind.  REAL Italian pizza is all about the crust.  Amici's has got it down.  The crispiness of the crust and the freshness of the toppings are what brings me back time and time.  It's almost a cracker type crust.  Not this ridiculous adulterated versions of a pizza pie put out by the like of Pizza Hut or Little Caesars.

Second, the pastas: this is what also sets it apart.  Do you want to know how to compare one place from another?  Pick one dish.  For Amici's, it's the fettuccine Alfredo.  Here, they don't skimp.  It's filling and flavorful.  Albeit I can tell they don't use a high fat triple butter like the mamas in Rome did.  But I can forgive Amici's.  I'm sure the economy had something to do with that.

Bottom line is you will enjoy the food here.  Couple that with the ambiance and the drink selections, you will come back.  Here's my tip, go with a big group.  Italian food was meant to be enjoyed by large groups called families.  Remember that institution???  I'll save that for another discussion.

I cannot figure out what all of the fuss is about with Ameci's. I think their KNBR ads must draw people in, but honestly, this is some of the worst, overpriced pizza I have ever had. I would never return and can never recommend.

I usually try to get straight to the point on these things so regarding this specific Amici's here I go: Food v Service

    Food:
    - Pizzas - plain and simple these pies are as good or better than the rest of the goumet types in baked in the wood fired ovens of SF, Berkeley and Napa.  Sorry anti-chain pizza connoisseur but it's true.  Somehow, even if they are using gas the crust is perfectly slightly burnt and bubbled to perfection, the sauce and cheese are perfectly melded and the toppings are of top quality.  I realize the best critics (i.e. M Bauer) can never recognize it for what it is: a Local CHAIN that stands up anything you can find in the Bay Area.

    Service:
    - Okay, this is Dublin and a different clientile than SF/Berkeley.  And so they probably serve to a more bedroom community crowd.  But please recognize that if you are going to stay open later then you should focus on all customers all the way up to closing time. I've now had 3 not so great restaurent experiences in the wee hours (as Sinatra would say.) Won't take if further but something to think about.

Overall, excellent food and uneven service.

Amici's have great specialty pizzas. My favorite are the Phillys and New York (cheese only). Recently tried the Manhattan Clam pizza and that was delicious as well; salty enough with some sweetness of clam.

Their spinach salad is my go to but friends/family love the Caesar salad as well. I keep forgetting that they add crispy bacon on the spinach salad - good for bacon lovers who wants some veggies.

Service is friendly but can be slow at times. Plus they have multiple locations so you can get your amici's fix anywhere from vacaville to downtown SF!

Now that I have figured out what to order here, it is OK.....the combo and the veggie pizzas were great!! Toppings are much more generous now.

Very good service today, 4 women and 2 tiny diners were well taken care of!

You have to eat in....the crust does not survive take out.  I do hear that a *partial bake*, then *you bake* works, might be interesting to try!!

Downer: They use canned mushrooms, which I can not abide.

The family style salad was a bit boring.

    Listed in: DGDs Welcomed!!
