Fabulous meals- both breakfast & dinner. The outside winter garden is perfect to relax and enjoy the view of the alps.

For breakfast- order eggs & coffee from the waitress, get the rest inside. And honey straight from the honeycomb!

For dinner- The 5 course meal was delicious. Maybe too much food - even though the servings were small. We enjoyed Thomas' wine pairings with each course.

This is a resort about an hour south of Munich in a small town called Murnau. It is nicely constructed with traditional German flavor architecture and warm lodge decor. and practically every room has a beautiful view of the beautiful German alps.

The staff is top-notch both at the front desk and in the restaurant portion of the resort. I don't speak a lick of German but they immediately switch to English fluently. Even the night manager, who had to help me with my wifi connection late on a Sunday night, spoke fluent English.

The 5-star dinner restaurants are expensive, but the dishes are outstanding and the wait staff is so warm and friendly, it is worth every expensive euro. Just make sure you don't walk into the most expensive restaurant which serves bite size morsels that the waitstaff proudly (but I think more like jokingly) declared "enjoy your meal!"

Just stick to Bavarian dishes and don't try anything off the continent of Europe, as I was there during the restaurant's "Thai week". However, the Thai dishes are what I'd call the chef's interpretation of what he thinks Thai food may perhaps taste like. But having been to Thailand more times than I can remember, I don't quite recall any Thai food ever tasting like that. Oh well, I should know better than to order pad thai in Murnau Germany!

There is also a full service spa which is nicely equipped, but the fitness center appears to be an after thought. I have been here twice already on business and cant' believe I have such good fortune to visit such a wonderful tucked-away resort. The best way to check out what I'm saying is to check their website.
