I have been going to Roberts shop for years and I can tell you without a doubt - Robert is honest, reliable, experienced on all make and model vehicles. If any of my cars are out of dealer warranty I will always use him because I trust him and his prices are always a lot better than the dealership. His mechanics have been with him forever!. He is a true mechanic that can do major engine work as well as any maintaince or repairs. You will like dealing with Robert!
His customers are extremely loyal for a reason. Clients from all over have been going to him for years. I don't know of any other mechanic shop that even comes close!!
Thanks,

I have a '98 4Runner, not every shop is interested in dealing with it. I called Monday morning, described the problem, they said bring it in and that it would be a quick item to repair. Very fast, great pricing, very friendly folks! I found my new go-to repair shop!

Brought my Lexus IS 350 here several months ago. I was having water leaking into the rear floorboards. The Technical Service Bulletin ("TSB") recommended a simple fix which was to remove the grommet underneath the car and leave it off. I paid All Star a few hundred bucks for them to lower the transmission and remove the grommet as the TSB recommended. A few months after that, I started having leaks again. I called All Star to confirm they had removed the grommet and they said they did. I didn't know what was going on so I finally broke down and took it to Plano Lexus who just confirmed the grommet was never removed by All Star. Very disappointed and frustrated!

I have used All Star exclusively for over a decade. I've referred many friends and neighbors and now my mom, my best friend, her husband, his best friend, and two of my other friends use this shop exclusively. The service is always quick and well done, the price is always fair. I highly recommend All Star!
I originally found this shop on "The Mechanic Files" - a website from the show Car Talk on NPR that allows users to rate auto shops. Kind of like Yelp for cars :) I first met Robert when I was purchasing a used Eclipse. I wanted someone to look it over before I signed on the dotted line. The shops I called wanted to charge me $80-$120, but Robert did it for free! Over a period of many years, he ended up replacing struts and shocks due to body damage, recommended someone that could do a transmission for me, recommended a body shop that did fair and fantastic work, and eventually ended up storing my poor baby once it got towed until the insurance could pick it up. He helped me find my new replacement car (a used Lexus) and has taken great care of it as well.
I know quite a bit about cars and often find other shops will try to oversell me things I don't need or don't even exist on my car ("your carburetor needs to be replaced" or "your air filter needs to be replaced for $200"). Robert never does this and will always hold on to the part that was broken to show you why it required replacement. As a woman, I really appreciate the honesty and straight forward service.
Robert and his team will often fix small things I didn't even mention, vibrations, rattles, etc. free of charge if its an easy fix for them. If Robert cant fix it, he'll tell you who can. He knows everyone in town and has done business here for years. If he offers a quote, he sticks to it. If the job expands, he'll call you before taking action. His prices are very fair and his team always does a fantastic job. Finding an honest mechanic isn't easy, but Robert is just that. I am grateful to have found Robert and All Star on the Mechanic Files!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Brett L.Dallas, TX521Jun 4, 2020
Yesterday the AC went out on my 2007 Lexus ES 350 and I read the good reviews here. All Star took me in right away, and got to work immediately. Robert, the owner/operator explained everything he would do. He said he'd call me with a quote before doing anything that would cost me money. He did what he said. The quote was reasonable, and I had my car back by the end of the day. I am very happy with the work. It's only been one day since I picked it up, but based on my experience so far, I will be back. Happy to have an honest, reasonable alternative to taking it to the dealership.

These guys are as good as it gets. The owner and his two techs have worked together for 30 years. They have maintained my old Accord expertly and the costs are reasonable. They're polite, professional and your car is ready on time and test driven. I recommend them without reservation.

Mrs. Bear and I have been getting engine work done on our two Toyota pickups at this location for almost twenty years. This engine repair garage is tucked away in a line of business establishments along Lindbergh Dr. just east of Midway Rd., along the south border of Addison Regional Airport. An Enterprise Rent-A-Car office is located conveniently nearby.
Recently, the engine in our 1995 Toyota pickup threw off its timing chain, which ruined the engine and left poor Mrs. Bear stranded along the George Bush Turnpike. After rescuing Mrs. Bear, I called Robert at All Star, and he immediately arranged to have the truck towed to his shop for an engine rebuild. By doing so, he saved us nearly $2,000 off the cost of a new engine.
After only four days in the shop, Mrs. Bear has her truck back and it runs like new again, much to her delight. We can highly recommend Robert at All Star for any engine work on Japanese cars or trucks.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Robert C.Dallas, TX04Mar 17, 2015
I have used Robert and his team for eight years. He has always been fair and reasonable. Consequently, I have sent several friends and neighbors there and all have been happy.
One reviewer seems to have had a problem there but I would say he is in the very small minority. I continue to recommend this shop.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wes P.Carrollton, TX2181Aug 28, 2012
I was told by another repair shop the rear diff on my truck was bad and it would cost me $1200. Took it to all-star to get a second opinion. They claimed my diff was not the issue, it was my front brake pads. Great! Thought I would save about $900 and that would solve the problem. After I pick it up, driving down the highway (not 12 hours later) my diff goes completely out, even though Rob from all-star claims they looked at it. He offers to have it towed back to his place. Fine. Takes a look at it then decides, it IS the diff. So basically they didn't look at it at all.
I then asked for a firm estimate on cost. He quotes me at $1350. About $150 more than the other place but he agreed to pay the tow since he overlooked it the first time. Whatever. I call about picking it up and am surprised when he asks for $1550. He tries to charge me for the tow and some wrong parts that he ordered the first time. After having to argue with Rob over the phone while he is yelling at me because I refused to pay more than what his first firm estimate was, we end up settling at $1400.
I go to pick up my truck and notice a puddle of oil underneath the rear end. I decide I'm not going to mess with this guy anymore and take it to the first place. Pull in and it is dripping tons of oil. The second place I took it to said the job was very sloppy. The diff was over-filled with oil. They did a routine service on the diff. They opened it up and cleaned the gaskets and put clean oil in it because Rob had failed to do so. The mechanics at All-Star obviously do not know what they are doing!
This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
