Most delicious scone I have ever tasted! Warm, fresh, and not overly sweet. Such a cute bakery! Would recommend to anybody!

Amazing olive bread and their version of scones is the best I've had--a sweeter, lighter morning treat.

EDIT: I was extremely confused about some details when I first wrote the review. I've submitted a (final! really!) update to the main listing.

I'd heard about the truck, but never managed to visit it. When Ned's moved in to co-occupy the space at Alexandra's Bread, I was totally blown away! They carry a stunning collection of artisan cheeses (locally produced as well as European imports), well displayed in a case to the left as you walk in. On the center table you'll find samples to try, crackers, and some really awesome looking pepperoni and salami. To the right, preserves and pasta sauce and other delicious-looking things (note: NOT a place to visit if you are already hungry).

I am currently eating a small hunk of cave-aged raw milk cheddar from France, part of a fresh baugette, and honey from Gloucester bees and wow, all I can say is that I had no idea this little gem was right under my nose all this time, a stone's throw from Common Crow.

They are planning on opening up in their new location on 10 April, and I can't wait.

lousy cellphone photo of the front window!

Stopped in to get some cookies and bread. A small butique bakery with gifts too. Got 3 cookies and a small loaf of bread. All for 6 bucks. What a deal!

I'm giving 5 stars to the one item that is a true champion in our book - the Scone. Fantastic, light, delicious flavor with a nice complient of cranberries. We have been eating them as long as they have been open and continue to get our weekend breakfast there.

The bread is terrific also. The cobble loaf never fails to provide a light interior with the proper amount of crust. During the year you can find specialty breads but John makes something different each day of the the week. Their cookies aren't too shabby either!

I would be remiss if I didn't say that John and Alexandra are the best part of the bakery. Always a friendly smile and really committed to what they do. If you are in town or if you are local and have never tried them you should stop in. Don't wait too long in the day however they sometimes sell out.

Love this bakery! The owners are wonderful and this is the best fresh baked bread that you will find on Cape Ann. Delicious sourdough and baguette.

Alexandra's has the absolute best whole wheat and olive breads and the owners could not be nicer!! I try to stay away from the scones and sweets because of calories but they look yummy too!

Not sure about the bread but the chocolate chip cookie I bought here was exceptional. I'm a baker and I know cookies and these people know how to bake.

Friendly service and a welcoming environment. And beautiful bread! It was perfectly made (crusty outside, warm chewy inside). And their cranberry scone was so delicious; warm, and chewy and not too sweet (and they offered 2 size options which was nice). My only complaint was that they didn't have more options for different baked goods.
