We truly enjoyed the few nights we spent at the Alexander Homestead. You're within walking distance to everywhere in St. Augustine but in a quite neighborhood removed from the bustle downtown. Only a block to the Floridian for great vegetarian food.
Our innkeeper was very nice and her breakfasts were spectacular. Complimentary wine, peach brandy, and soft drinks for your room. Big comfortable bed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peter P.Miami, FL22476121Oct 8, 2014
Wow, if you are on the wall about this place, need a B&B in St. Augustine or have never visited a B&B before, book a room RIGHT NOW! Bonnie, the owner, is the sweetest, kindest woman I have ever met.
She sat with us at breakfast and talked about her past, the history of the Alexander Homestead, and St. Augustine. We spent 3 days, 2 nights here back in February, and we cannot wait to go back!
The location is wonderful, within 2 blocks of countless stores, many restaurants and wonderful places to walk.
The brandy in each room was a really nice touch, as were the little popcorn snacks and wine. It really felt like I was visiting relatives, not staying somewhere foreign. The breakfast was amazing too! wow! From sitting outside on the patio to the short walk into the center of town, it was PERFECT.
Stay here, you wont regret it!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alyssa P.Arlington, VA6545Mar 21, 2014
I stayed for 3 days and had a fantastic experience. The breakfast was spectacular and the inn keeper has signature rolls that's are delicious. It's extremely close to everything downtown, so walking to the bar or the fort is no big deal.
The rooms were fantastic. We had a private entrance and balcony with sitting room and a whirlpool tub complete with personal robes. There was absolutely nothing negative about our experience . I would absolutely go again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Geoff F.Fort Lauderdale, FL02May 17, 2015
A great find in St. Augustine. Bonnie the proprietor is a gem herself, a gentle soul who is truly in it for the love of what she does. The room was great with plenty of nice details: Turkish cotton towels and nice bed linens, satellite TV, wine in the fridge and Amaretto on the table. Breakfast was unexpectedly amazing. Extremely close to wherever you need to be. Absolutely recommended.
