Alejandro's Mexican Grill - Downtown

We came on a Friday night around 6pm and were quickly seated upon arrival. They bring you chips and they have a salsa bar where you can pick your own salsas. The salsas are just mediocre.
Our food was brought out pretty quick. I ordered the twin burritos which included one shredded chicken and one beef. The beef was pretty good but after two bites of the chicken, I couldn't eat anymore. The chicken had a terrible taste, you could tell it was not the best quality chicken.
Service was good but won't be returning

Alejandro's is one of my favorite restaurants in Roanoke. The staff is amazing, so friendly, and the food is always outstanding. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ever ordered, but Jo's potato tacos are definitely my favorite! Great vegetarian options, that aren't what you'd typically find in Mexican restaurants.

This place came highly recommended by our hotel. At first glance it looks like a hole in the wall, but upon entry you are very welcomed.

I ordered the California Burrito deep fried with chicken
It was missing the french fries that normally come inside a California Burrito but it was great. So much chicken I couldn't eat it all.
Fresh and tasty.
We were just passing through Roanoke so most likely won't be able to enjoy again. Hopefully locals appreciate what they have in this little gem.

We stopped by here for a quick lunch, our last on this road trip.
We went quite late for the lunch, so we were the only ones out there for some time.
They had salsa station with variety of it and we loved it. My shrimp tacos were THE BEST! Perfectly marinated and seasoned. Chicken burrito was delicious too - I'd say quite heavy though.

While the food overall was quite reasonably priced, my husband had some tequila shots which were way expensive - $15 each!

I haven't eaten at this location before, but I thought I would try it. The enchiladas Verdes were more than disappointing....they were inedible. It was a mass of congealed cheese, raw, soggy tortillas with shredded spiced chicken on top. I love cheese but it was way too much and it had all congealed into a big lump. Very disappointed. I won't eat here again. The service was fine and the restaurant was clean. I'm not sure it was just a bad dish or what because at the other location, I've always enjoyed the food.

The service was friendly and welcoming! The guacamole was delicious and we enjoyed the help yourself sauce bar! I ventured off the normal Mexican path and ordered the zucchini doodles and shrimp. We had chicken nachos for appetizer and that turned out to be my lunch. I couldn't stop eating it! Delicious and huge portion!!!! Definitely recommend this special place! We had a pitcher of modelo beer which was very cold and a great compliment to the nachos!

Super great food and drinks offered for a reasonable price! They have a salsa bar for the chips which ranges in mild to spicy hot options which I love - we refilled out salsa cups so many times and the chips were warm and crispy. The fajitas, burritos, and enchiladas we ordered were all huge in quantity and flavorful with fresh ingredients. The alcoholic drinks offered were 10/10 delicious and strong so we will definitely be coming back for more!

Delicious tacos and salsa bar! We loved the variety for our basket of chips and kept getting up for more! Unfortunately, because we ate all those chips, we didn't finish our dinners! The fish tacos were so tasty, both the fried and grilled. The slaw on top of the fried fish was the perfect addition. We courageously ordered the 3 lb burrito - and that's where our stomachs said no more - but we got to take the leftovers home. The giant burrito though was mostly just rice/filler- not a lot of meat despite the menu claiming 1 lb is meat... And to wash all this food down, a jumbo margarita and an extra shot of tequila (;

Weird environment, staff sits in corner on phone instead of waiting on customers, poor salsa bar, poor quality food. Worker then rushed over to us as we were standing up to pay because we assume she thinks we were trying to dine and dash when we were walking toward hostess stand to pay because it was taking a while to get our check :/ will stick to el rodeo
