    About the Business

For over 70 years, cyclists, friends, and family have trusted Westwood Cycle for all of their cycling needs. What makes our store different than other bicycle stores, well, in a word, experience. Would you buy a camera from a person who only knows how to take pictures, Would you take cooking advice from someone who only knew how to eat, Why would you take advice from someone who only rode a bike? At Westwood Cycle, we live bikes. We breathe bikes. We eat bikes (well, maybe not). We know the benefits of cycling and how it can relieve stress, increase your health, and improve your life. Some of us ride over 7,000 miles a year and still have full time jobs. It's this kind of commitment that benefits you. More about our staff between Alan, Mark, Jerry, Duke, Mike, Ed,Devon and Clark we have more then 100 years of bicycle sales and service experience. Hear more about Alan on tech talk...

I don't know when this business decided to not allow their customers to test drive bikes. Who pays for a bike without knowing how it fits/feels? When was the last time someone bought a pair of shoes without trying them on? As soon as they told me that, I left. I then went to a specialized store directly in NYC and purchased my now beloved Roubaix Bicycle. The specialized store strongly encouraged me to test ride the bicycle. Of note, I purchased my old bicycle from this store 12 years ago and at that time they did allow you to test ride. I think, for their sake, they should return to that business model because they do know their stuff and can be helpful.

Awesome shop. Awesome staff. Awesome service.

      They're professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.
What I liked most about this place is how comfortable they make you feel leaving your bike with them.
You feel like the bikes in good hands.

They also don't rush you. Rather, they answer your questions and listen.

If you like your bike, bring it here

Just purchased 2 road tires here, both identical. One was factory marked and labeled "Westwood Cycle $40.00" and the other package looked like it was price labeled by a grocery store clerk "$44.99".

Rather than giving me both for $40, or one for $40 and the other for $44.99 as they were labeled, the great guys they are explained that the one label must have fallen off, and charge me $44.99 for each.

It's not the money but the principle, and these muppets that run this store just don't get it.

Bought my first road bike from these nice guys!! We walked in on a Saturday morning, the place was not crowded at all. Clark was really patient and friendly to help me fit bikes and give me advices. I also got a long test ride in the nice neighborhood. The whole process went really smooth and pleasant. Lastly, they offered me a discount price for the beautiful Liv Avail from Giant!

Can't wait for my first ride!! Highly recommend this place.

Went to buy a bike. They seemed nice enough but they won't allow a customer to test ride a bike before buying. Not sure who is willing to spend $1,000 without a test ride. This was a complete waste of time.

Just a heads up before you waste your time here, they don't let you test ride their bikes, because they don't want the wheels to get dirty And it's not like I came here on a rainy day...

I came in here ready & exited to buy a new bicycle and after they showed me one which seems pretty awesome, I wasn't allowed to test ride it. I visit bike shops all the time and always test ride. I've never heard of such a thing. I'm supposed to buy a $600+ bicycle without seeing if I like how it rides first ? And they told me to read reviews on the internet and buy the bike based on that. Seriously? I left the store feeling pretty disappointed and now have to look up another nearby shop to go to because I was pretty gung-ho to get a bike today. I can't wrap my head around why they would run a business this way. Waste of time!

I ended up going to Park Ridge (and I see I'm not the only one, after reading other reviews) and I got to test ride 2 bikes!!

I normally do not write reviews, but Westwood Cycle customer service warranted a review. I brought my mountain bike for a tune up, even during peak season everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable about bikes. When I picked up by bike I spoke with Kevin, he talked me through all the work was done, itemized each piece that required work. I could not be happier and will definitely come back for further tune ups and hopefully and upgrade in a bike! Thank you

I called to make an appointment for a bike tune-up and Dean asked all the right questions about the service that was needed. When I dropped off my bike, both Dean and Mark were helpful, friendly and informative. It was especially wonderful that the tune-up was completed earlier than expected. After visiting several shops on both coasts, Albert's has the best customer service.

Every time I go to this shop, I leave feeling defeated. Nobody wants to help you. I asked one of the guys that works there what kind of bike I was looking at to which he condescendingly answers, "that's a graaaavel bike". Dude, just because I'm a woman, doesn't mean I don't know anything about bikes.

Against my better judgement, I bring my old road bike over there to get tuned up. I ask them to change my tires and bar tape and ask them if they can make my bike clean and safe to ride again. I know that covid delays bike repairs so a month later I didn't receive a call from them so I decided to go there and pick up my bike. surprise no work Had been done. So I took my bike back.

Whoever owns this place, I suggests you take a good look at the people who are representing your shop. It's too bad because you have a good location and pretty reasonable inventory.
