Zippy Shell - Alamo

If I could give zero stars, I would. Not enough room here to tell my whole story. Suffice to say I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. ZippyShell/1800PackRat was supposed to move 2 containers from Surprise, AZ to Austin, TX at the end of June.
Through an error on their part, my containers were delivered to San Antonio Warehouse and Austin is out of their delivery zone. Numerous phone calls, issue still not resolved, no possibility (according to them) of delivery before August 3- almost another 2 weeks away. Which means they will have had my containers for over a month...currently sitting 60 miles away from our completely empty house.
Note- I used Zippy Shell in 2017 for IL to AZ move and had no problems. They have obviously bitten off more than they can chew by combining with 1800PackRat.

Think moving is cumbersome?

Well I suggest you hire Zippy Shell to make your life a little easier. I stored and moved my things with them at a fraction of the cost your household name moving pods. From the person who delivers your travel container to the office personnel, they clearly work as a professional team.

Much better prices and deals than any competitor. They deliver and then call you the next day to see how everything is going. They deliver earlier than expected and are flexible with pickup. They even got us an extra shell on short notice. I will edit more when we take delivery but so far ZippyShell has been well worth it.

We moved from Maryland to San Antonio. We chose Zippy shell because of their pricing and they offered 30 day free storage. When we signed up, we were told that unloading was included in the price, they also added it to our contract. When we arrived in San Antonio, we received an email from the corporate Zippy shell and was told that they made a mistake and that unloading would not be included. Of course, this caused a lot of frustration and a lot of back and forth communication.

The reason that Alamo Zippy shell is getting 5 stars is because Marisa Vella from corporate Zippy shell called them and they agreed to honor corporate's mistake even though they would be taking a hit on the charges. These local Zippy shells are franchises and privately owned, so they did not have to honor the mistake that someone in the corporate office made. This really turned a bad experience into the ultimate experience.

When they arrived to unload, they arrived right on time and we were greeted by Miguel, Jonathan and Charles. They were three of the most polite men and quickly unloaded our container in about 30 minutes. Thanks guys!

My daughter and son-in-law hired this company to move from San Antonio to North Dakota. Two trucks were required to move contents from their home as well as some that they stored in my home. While driving up the drive, one of the two trucks hit a three and a half foot circumference tree, knocking it to the ground (as well as breaking an adjacent tree). After two calls, I spoke to Daniel @ 888-947-7974. This was then turned over to their hire a helper claims department who acknowledged they caused the property damage but refused to cover the damages. I feel that customers should be careful as they may experience the same treatment if their belongings are damaged.

Great solution for my move. Charles and his crew were wonderful Very prepared and accommodating. Would definitely recommend

Zippy Shell is LITERALLY the WORST. They do not know where our stuff is. They were supposed to deliver last weekend on 9/20, but told us they were "too busy" to deliver and scheduled our delivery for today, 9/27. It is now 9PM and it has yet to show up. We have called the dispatcher multiple times and each time they told us they were unable to get a hold of the warehouse and that their supervisor was looking into it. Now they are closed so we cannot get a hold of anyone.
I DO NOT recommend anyone do business with Zippy Shell. They have subpar customer service and do not give you a definite time of when your stuff will leave your original location nor do they give you a definite time when your container will arrive in your new location. Not to mention the advertisement of the size of their containers is a lie. We had to get rid of a lot of expensive furniture because they claim that their container is equivalent to a 16 foot box truck.
Never do business with them. Ever. Save yourself the heartache and get a POD or go with another shipping company.

Charles was fantastic during an extremely stressful move. Very professional and super accommodating! Would recommend him and his team to anyone!
