My wife is happy and it didn't break the bank.
Not sure what else needs said :-)
They also had an awesome waiting room with a view of the square if you need to hang out and wait for someone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Buon V.San Francisco, CA139Oct 17, 2013
Akoia is simply awesome!!
We have "girl's spa day" every quarter and we're pretty picky when it comes to day spas. Before the Internet age (maybe 20+ years ago)... we use to ask a series of questions; "how old is your building? have you passed the health inspection? can you send us photos of your masseuse? etc.. -- ya know what I mean). Even with access to the Internet now, we would pick a new spot that we've never tried and it would be a total dud (hello.. like ... instead of robes, venues would give you white sheets with holes in them). Akoia was a total winner and we would go back in a heart beat if it wasn't so far (from San Francisco).
The venue is spotless clean with a very relaxing bright waiting area that overlooks the square. Priscilla was my esthetician (and whoa) was she amazing. She not only give you a hand & arm massage... but a foot massage too!! Also, I have very sensitive skin and I really try to limit the frequency of facials; but the products they use at Akoia is very gentle and moisturizing. Priceless!!
Originally I was hoping to book a deep tissue massage but unfortunately they lack "male" masseurs; hence the minus star. Give Akoia a try! You will not be disappointed!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joan C.Healdsburg, CA4241Apr 20, 2015
Wonderful! Need I say more?
It is a great place to get pampered, and a great gift to give (or get)!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kym G.Austin, TX156625Jul 18, 2011
Had a GREAT massage this past Sunday. I believe my therapist's name was Kendra. She was very friendly. Asked about any problems, listened and asked questions as I explained some recent injuries and pains. She made some relevant conversation during the massage but was not too talkative. I wanted an intense massage and that is exactly what I got. She kept checking in if I was wincing to make sure that was what I wanted. I left feeling amazing and as relaxed as I could remember feeling in a long time. Some muscle soreness today, which is just what I wanted. I know we made some significant progress on my problem areas. It was just what I needed.
They fit me in on relatively short notice. Great location, easy to get to. Friendly service. A little pricey, but considering it's rare I treat myself to a 90 minute massage, it was totally worth it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kristina W.San Francisco, CA1255418Feb 27, 2012
If I were Beyonce and JayZ, I would hire Marissa as my personal live-in massage therapist. This girl is a P-R-O! She had this unique and very effective technique of massaging in small concentric circles up and down my aching muscles with the perfect pressure. I probably fell asleep like 8 times during the 1 hour massage. I told her that I love foot massages and she spent a good 30% just on my feet and totally hit up my sore areas - balls of my feet and arches (since I frequently wear heels). I felt amazing!
Next time, I'm ordering the 90 minute massage for only $20 extra!! ($100 for 60 min , $120 for 90 min). One of the best massages ever! I'm giving them 4 stars though because they don't have any spa amenities like a jacuzzi, steam room, or sauna, not even a shower and changing room. Otherwise, excellent!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth T.Healdsburg, CA21122May 29, 2014
Best massage I have ever had. Ask for Linda Rose. I walked in quite sore and she seemed to read my body and work out every sore area. I have had a lot of massages but she was by far the best. I will return and even send my husband.

This is a clean, beautiful little spa. The staff are super nice and down to earth. I had a pregnancy massage, facial and body scrub there. My massage was great. My massage therapist was so accommodating of my giant belly, and was able to give me a great massage despite the fact that I could not lay on my stomach. My facialist was very gentle, yet thorough and my skin felt great afterwards. Their prices were also very good compared to most places I have been I have been to in the bay area.

Lovely ambience, welcoming and relaxing. I got a great 60-minute Swedish massage from Marissa. My friend got one from Christine, I believe, and was very happy with hers also. I will also add that I'm plus-sized so I'm hesitant sometimes to go to spas/massages/etc, but Marissa was very professional and I felt comfortable and welcome by the staff here.

My boyfriend and I went there for a couple's massage. It was very nice, clean. Everyone was nice. The only thing that I found odd was we were not next to each other during the couple's massage. I understand they did what they could with the space. The massage itself was great, he loved his too. Booking was OK, if my memory is correct we did it via the internet and then phone to confirm the crd. card number.
