About the Business
Our dough is grilled on a wood grill before we top it and finish it off in the pizza oven. Plenty of awesome salads and sandwiches, soup and dessert that changes on a regular basis. We offer gluten free pizza(with certain toppings) and even gluten free brownies for a quick dessert. Check our website or give us a call to find out about the current specials.

We were bouncing around Portsmouth the other night and had a hankering for wings. But, we wanted dry rubs not all that sugary sauce you get at all the big chains.
So we out word out on the FB Seacoast Eats page asking for the BEST. And the 1st response we got was AJ's in Kittery.
We chose the Jamaican Jerk rub and we also split a GRILLED Greek salad. The grilled salad was tasty as hell. But the wings .... HOLY CRAP! They bribe their wings overnight. You can tell. Then they crisp them up with that dry rub. PERFECTION! I KID YOU NOT!
I never write reviews on this thing. Maybe once a year. They get the review for 2022!
If you are anywhere north of BOSTON and you want some awesome wings? Head to Kittery, Maine. I'm betting these guys get a ton of business from the Navy Shipyard. And you know those guys don't frequent crappy joints.
Give these guys some business! You'll thank me.
We'l be back!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Whitey F.Camden, Camden, ME05May 4, 2024
They've been serving pizza with that cardboard crust for years. Some complain about it and for some reason, others go back for more. Does AJ's read the reviews? Worst crust on the Seacoast.
Please get better crust!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David D.Medford, MA046May 5, 2024
Today we ordered a large pepperoni
Pizza that had no flavor the crust was like cardboard, it was the most flavorless pizza we ever had.
We also order one of their speciality pizzas, homemade sausage , red pepper and red onion, everything was diced very small .There was nothing special about this pizza.
The grilled romaine greek salad was very wilted.
We will not be back.!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zach M.Los Angeles, CA982Sep 7, 2023
"Truly just so, so awful." - my wife
"I wouldn't even know what to say. Actual cardboard. Inedible." - my mother-in-law
"This was just really terrible. It's like eating something that's not food." - me
Now, we're not trying to be unfair here.
People just need to know.
The spicy sausage topping was very good, but the actual pizza it sat on was absolutely inedible.
We literally trashed an entire pizza's worth.
We won't even bother addressing the wings.
The crust has to change or this place needs to go out of business. Burnt, zero rise, zero flavor.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Todd J.South Berwick, ME029Mar 12, 2024
I should say that the Cajun fries are quite tasty but the Signature Steak burger was way under seasoned and bland. The smell of woodsmoke out side was amazing and drew us in but the food inside was a let down. Three burgers and three sodas was a $62.00 bill. I thing that's a little hefty for a quick lunch.

Another great pizza at AJs. We are local and usually have lunch down town, AJs is a frequent stop for lunch or dinner and the outside seating is ideal for our pups who are usually with us.

I have to say, this go around the pizza was cooked perfectly. The flavors were there, and the crust was amazing and fresh. I'm glad I gave AJ's another go. I had the Richard and it was delicious. I will be ordering again.Jul 8, 2017Previous reviewLook, I would give no stars to this place if I could. First experience: ordering, person taking the order (a very distracted guy) didn't greet me nor even ask if he could take my order, it looked as though I was bothering him. I ordered a cheese slice, not to hard, right? Wrong! Dead wrong...a hot melted burnt mess is what I was given after a LONG wait. So you guys suck, and so does your pizza.

We ordered lunch from AJ's for delivery. The cheese pizza was meh. Does the job but not much more. The crust was really a weak spot, not good at all. We also had a roast beef sandwich on rye. It was okay, nothing special. The horseradish Mayo had no hint of heat at all. Cinnamon Dough balls for dessert are the pizza dough fried. Not a bad thing, but also suffers because the dough isn't great. I probably wouldn't recommend.

After having enjoyed many AJ's pizzas in the past, I can now only say that if you want to order from a place that can't figure out how to turn their online ordering system off when they're busy, are stressed to the point of taking an adversarial tone when they call to say they can't fulfill your order (while telling you that they don't have one of the items you ordered anyway), tell you in demeaning terms that they don't have time to deal with you when you wonder why they're being so curt with a loyal customer, and then hang up -- this is the place for you.
