If you have an operation at White Memorial Hospital how are the rooms, are the clean, do they treat you well, is the food okay?. The emergency department looks pretty bad by the reviews.
A:
My SO just had surgery here yesterday and had to stay overnight. The rooms are dated and could use some TLC. My SO felt that the food was okay, not bad! And the staff in the floor was nice and pleasant. It's definitely survivable

I arrived, checked in at admitting, and gave them my green card. Paulina gave me on monday 29, 2024, during a pre-op visit.
As time began to pass, it allowed me to begin getting the jitters. I took a few deep breaths and decided to walk the halls of the hospital.
I noticed how impeccable the hospital was, employees greating you , asking if you need help. Made me feel comfortable.
Shortly after 9 a.m. , I was called to a door . It was at that moment I met Fresia, a lovely nurse. She walked me to my room, asked me to change, and to get comfortable.
At 10:02 am Fresia, shortly came back, and we went over medications. She wasted no time bringing me warm blankets. She quickly got a line in she mentioned that the anesthesiologist would be stopping by.
As time passed by, Doctor Fidai Surgeon came in to check in on me. He mentioned they were behind in the surgery department. He apologized and said to relax. No sooner than he left, Eldy Rn introduced himself. He mentioned he'd be with me in surgery. We went over the medications list.
Doctor Martinez,Anesthesiologist, wow ! His presence made me feel safe. Same thing we went over meds list and dental. He explained his role during my surgery between 11 am. and 11:15 . Roasario and Jake soon followed the neurologist, explained their part take as well in surgery.
11:20 am Eldy RN prayed with me. I appreciate him every so much right in that moment. As I was being hauled thru these white doors with music playing, everyone greeted me. Virginie, such a sweet heart. There were 2 other folks in that surgery room. I asked their name. However, 11:28 am. Doctor Martinez said it was time. Next thing you know, folks' surgery was over, and I woke up in the recovery area.
Jennifer called my family member. The first thing I do is look at clock it was 3:54 pm. Modesty truly goes out the door when we are receiving care. Especially having back surgery, I was lucky Jennifer assisted me with my clothes and took me to valet area in a wheelchair.

Wow, White memorial had a power outage today, not sure what happened but unfortunately my appointment had to be rescheduled for another time after waiting 3 months.
Michelle the Radiology Manager was very nice and professional as she informed me about the power outage and that I would have to reschedule my appointment.
I'm not happy about getting rescheduled but I am not mad and understand things happen out of our control.
Michelle was very apologetic about the circumstances, genuine and sincere with me.
I would highly recommend this establishment when the power is on.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I came this emergency room on April 14, 2024. At the registration one guy and lady was working. While i came the guy was sleeping. He was extremely rude, doesnt care about the patients and his job! He doest have any tolerance to check customers insurance, or help anyway! Very regret I chose this emergency room! People come to emergency room already with pain, its not too hard to be little polite and help sick people! Awful place! Stay away! By the way, i was here at 4 am, there wasnt anybody when i came. Regardless, the registration guy and lady did not help at all!

Horrible place. It's a ZERO!!!!!! My friend's mother is there being given the run around!!! Some of the doctors are being super insensitive to the point of not even explaining her charts to her and her family. She has a massive tumor that is probably growing day by day and they aren't giving answers or resolutions or transfers!!!
And the case manager is super useless!!! She apparently can't do anything to get her to a hospital that can give her some real care since they clearly can't offer it here.
If it was one of their mothers I wonder how hard they would be trying to get good quality care. Hopefully they get the same care for the people that they love as they've been giving my friend's mother!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My mom has received the best care in this hospital. She is suffering from stage 4 ovarian cancer and in her delicate condition the doctors, RN's & CNA's have always shown her respect and compassion... I would recommend this hospital to anyone that needs to receive good care..

My poor baby was admitted because her pediatrician which was across the street from the hospital and she suspected Kawasaki's disease. She had an bilateral ear infection and her fever wasn't going down and she was in pain all the time and after a few hours of being admitted they found out that it is Kawasaki's and started treatment
right away.
The nurses in the pediatric department which is in the east building on the second floor were phenomenal when it came to her and her well being. We had a big room to ourselves which was nice and a play room that's open during the day and love their "no procedure" policy when the kids are in the play room. They asked always after giving her a dose of medication if I needed anything.
After a few days of treatment and fever free, we were allowed to go home.
Cannot thank them enough. Being a mother and it hurt seeing your own child go through the pain but so happy she's better and back to herself!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

There is only one check in clerk at the window of birthing center check-in. She takes forever to register one pt, I'm timing her and she needs approx an hour to register one pt. The work flow efficiency is extremely low to zero. She probably doesn't know how to prioritize her tasks or lack of training or she doesn't even know what she's doing. I Feel so sorry for all the moms that've been waiting in the room. Hospital's PR doesn't need to response to this review and say thank and ask me to send my feed back to an email address. Don't waste time on superficial acts. Just take patient reviews directly as feedbacks and work on improvement already

My brother was transferred from Beverly Hospital to White Memorial by ambulance dying because he had severe bleeding ulcers. The doctors that received him (later told us) that he was near death. He was placed in ICU and when we saw him he was so swollen. Those doctors, nurses, nurses assistants, blood drawers etc were so kind to him and us his family as they worked hard to save his life. Fast forward to today 6 days later my brother is home looking better than he has in months. I cannot thank the entire medical staff and reception by the way, for the excellent service throughout his stay. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We thought we might need to plan his funeral but we are planning his birthday dinner.. next week.
