Adams Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home

I cannot believe I am writing a review of a funeral home, but under sad circumstances, my adult stepdaughter passed away a few months ago, and we called them. We dealt mostly with Christopher. He was so gracious, kind and understanding. He helped us locate a cemetery as well. You can imagine what a tough time it was. I thought the whole staff was great. It made a challenging experience easier.

My son was born prematurely and we had him cremated. We did not have a service. Brian and Kathy are amazing people. They were so nice and sympathetic and they went above and beyond for us. In a phone conversation, Kathy even said to let her know if they could do anything for us like bring us food or have it delivered to make sure we were eating and taking care of ourselves. They treated us and our son with so much respect. You don't find this kind of treatment at a lot of funeral homes. This is not just a business to them.

My father was in hospice at Edwards hospital and the hospital told us they would hold his body for 24 hours. We needed to quickly find a funeral home and make arrangements. After 2 other funeral homes in the Downers Grove area blew us off on Sunday morning we got in touch with Adams Winterfield and Sullivan. Within 2 hours we were at the funeral home. Another hour later the arrangements were finalized. Terry's family has been running funeral homes for 4 generations. Many of the funeral homes in the area are ran by large corporations and the level of service did not appear to be the same. The funeral home itself has 2 large viewing areas that are decorated nicely and maintained very well. There are 2 large well-appointed kitchen areas. Their pricing is well below the national average. Considering the level of service and the nicely appointed funeral home we felt like we got way more than what we paid for. I highly recommend this funeral home.

I never thought I'd be reviewing a funeral home?? But I guess there is a first for everything. In an extremely emotional time topped with loads of stress, Brian and Cathy were extremely empathetic, supportive, honest and not focused on the bottom line! There is nothing cheap about a funeral, but I felt they were very forth coming and honest about costs on all fronts (i.e....where to spend the $ and where not to). Their professionalism and support throughout the entire process was amazing and I cannot say enough good things about my experience in dealing with this funeral home! I would HIGHLY recommend them!

I lost my 23 year old son unexpectedly. I've never planned and didn't know where to start. I read online you should shop around to get pricing up front. I made plans to visit 2 funeral homes near me. I stopped here first. As we were going thru the paperwork I realized this is the place we want to trust our son with. Brian is fantastic. He went above and beyond, even letting me know when he had my son and was in his care. Since my son was young, Brian felt we would get a pretty big crowd. He opened up the entire place, not charging me extra as other funeral homes would do. The following day at the church and after the service, he asked if I wanted to say one last goodbye once my son was in the Hearst....very thoughtful. It was a pleasure to deal with them, if there is another time I need to plan another funeral I would definitely come here again.

Brian, Kathy and Terri were outstanding! Brian was so warm and inviting. He really listened to us and helped us with all the arrangements for my father in law. Never once rushed us in the process. We didn't have a sitter and we had to bring our 2 young children with us, age 8 and 11 while we made our arrangements and Brian, Kathy and Terri couldn't have been nicer to them and didn't mind them playing their tablet or making a noise here and there. Brian was guided us through the entire process from the beginning to end and gave us help as to what to do next with a wonderful tip sheet. After we got home we realized that we told Brian the wrong date and called Kathy, she immediately told us not to worry and she took care of changing the date..then a day later we realized we had a relative's children's last name wrong.. Kathy called us from her home and fixed it right then and there from home so that we would not have to wait or worry. This Funeral home REALLY cares about the families and their needs. Terri was there to greet us on the say of our service and Tom then took over later into the evening. We were never rushed and they always told us anything we need during and even after we leave to just give them a call. They really made us feel they were there for US ! If you are in search of a funeral home, I highly recommend them. Extremely kind, patient, clean, and professional.
