Yosef has really halped me with my migraines, tension headaches, lower back pain, and stomach issues. I look forward to my appointments because I feel relaxed and renewed when I leave the office.
He also introduced me to a holistic doctor who has given my more information on my health issues, at the age of 34, than I ever could have imagined I'd know.
I truely feel like I'm on the right path now to improve my health and have a balanced life.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina G.Oak Park, IL091Aug 7, 2017
I've now been seeing Yosef for six months, so I felt that was enough time passed to write a legitimate review.
I have suffered from migraines since I was a kid, and the last few years I have been having more of what I call my "knock down drag out" ones - totally incapacitated, prescription meds not doing much, vomiting, the whole nine yards. In late January, I decided I was pretty tired of that, and despite a huge fear of needles, I looked into acupuncture; and since I walk past this place every day, I decided to give it a shot. It was a great decision.
Yosef took the time to listen to my list of issues, talked about my history, and came up with a plan. The first little bit I was seeing him twice a week, but now in a maintenance stage of just once a week. But he's kind of like a wizard - studying and coming up with new plans of attack, really customized for me. And additionally, in the time I've been seeing him, I've had other issues with sinus infections and a torn hamstring, and he came up with something for those as well. He's just really passionate about what he does, and cares - you can't fake that. And the needles really aren't that scary or painful at all.
So, six months in, and I haven't had one "knock down drag out" migraine, my digestive issues have improved, and I feel overall better than I did when I walked in the door that first day. On top of all that wizardry, Yosef is just a great guy. Caring, charming, funny. He's randomly called/emailed me to see how I feel after a session, or making sure I don't have a headache coming on when the weather is crap. I trusted him enough to also send my mom to him, and I don't trust my mom to just anyone!
I know acupuncture isn't cheap (especially when your insurance is dumb and won't cover it), but it's a good investment (and also what I'm probably saving on constantly refilling my meds is worth it). Thanks Yosef!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David S.Oak Park, IL1135Jan 22, 2008First to Review
So Far, so good. I visited Dr. Pollack last night and his acupuncture treatment has me feeling much better. I had never had any acupuncture before and he eased me into it. I appreciated his explanations and felt very very comfortable in his extremely-nice office space. Easy parking right in front of the office, I even lucked out in finding a broken parking meter!
I will raise my star ratings as my back feels better and better (kidding!)

My husband and I met Yosef as the instructor at a Qi Gong class with the Oak Park Park District. Now, many months later, my husband uses Qi Gong every night for calming and during the day to quickly "decompress" at work. He says it's "an invaluable tool as an alternative to pills." "The movement and meditative practice make both more powerful than doing each separately." When I got a cold that I couldn't beat, I went to Yosef for acupuncture and herbs. He was very thorough and thoughtful during the intake interview and the treatment and herbs helped me kick the cold. He also sent me home with a device and treatment to help my lingering plantar fassitis issues and another device to help clear out my sinuses. I would not hesitate to refer a friend to Yosef for treatment.

I went to Yosef for some digestive problems related to my stomach and gallbladder but which were also causing back pain. After one treatment my back pain was significantly improved, and my symptoms continued to improve with continued treatment. The acupuncture also helped with some anxiety issues that I was having. Yosef was very knowledgeable and clearly supports a holistic view for optimal health. He also had many helpful suggestions on herbal remedies and dietary supplements which helped me a lot. I would recommend his acupuncture services to anyone!

I am confident that if western medicine has failed you, Yosef can help.
He is extremely knowledgeable regarding nutrition, eastern medicine, yoga, meditation, and massage. He is professional yet very personable, and puts your nerves to ease before your first treatment. I have seen him several times now, and highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a different way to health.
I went for sleep issues, and after my first treatment, slept like a baby!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trisha N.Elburn, IL011Dec 14, 2013
Yosef made an extra appointment for me on a Saturday and stayed 2 hours after closing hours. He has made recommendations for changes in my diet and supplements that in one week have me feeling like a different person. He doesn't rush you and has a very personalized approach. Don't allow the 2 people who had negative things to say deter you. In this day and age there are fast massage clinics that get you in and out and don't really care about your over health. Yosef is the exact opposite. If you want an acupuncturist who cares about the overall person and not how many people he can shuffle in and out in one day, then go to Yosef.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!
So my husband purchased a Groupon certificate for me in May for a massage, which expires in November. I recently had a child so I was unable to redeem it right away due to the time it took to heal from the delivery and due to the fact that I was lactating.
I initially called to make an appointment in September and Yousef's response was"you want a massage? oh...hhmmm" I said is that a problem, he said "no, it's just that we are an acupunture clinic." I said ok, so when can I come in? He said you know what can I call you back I am in the middle of something.
Understandable, it was a Saturday, I thought maybe he would call me back in an hour or so...not the case....he NEVER called back. So when I called back a few days later, he said he wrote my number down wrong. Fine...I asked when he had appointments available and he said when can you come in. I gave him 3 different times and he said he had nothing available, so I asked, well when do you have openings and he said he has random therapists at different times. What kind of an answer is that?
After a few weeks passed I called back because now the coupon was going to expire he stated that the only times he had available were at 8 and 9 in the morning. Clearly not times that people who work can make it. So I asked if he would honor this voucher at a later date since he had no availability and he said no you have 2 options, you can either forfeit your coupon or pay $35. Why would I pay $35 for a service I already paid for! Plus why would I give my money to a jerk like that...seriously!
He said well you want to wait until the last minute...I said...NO, I attempted to make this appointment with you remember...of course he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. At this point I was really upset because I feel like he was not trying to service the customer at all.
I understand a deadline is a deadline, but it's not like I did not try on several occasions to schedule this appointment.
No wonder he had a groupon offer, because he probably can't get clients on his own.
I am floored with his nasty attitude and poor customer service. What happened to the customer is always right??????Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - lenny s.Chicago, IL09Aug 19, 2015
Been to multiple acupuncture clinics. Yosef hands down crushes all of them. Not only are the sessions great, but he's such a nice guy you couldn't dislike him if you tried. Highly recommend trying out Yosef if you're looking into acupunture.
