AA Driving Academy

I recommend this driving academy if you are concerned with reducing demerit points on your license. A few months ago, right before I moved, I received notice by the DMV in Virginia of too many demerit points due to some speeding tickets during 12 months timeframe. It was an option to take a driver improvement course and, upon passing, I would receive 5 points to cancel out demerit points.
This driving academy has an online course, which I completed, which can be completed in one day (estimated at 8 hours for completion of the online course, although it took me less than 8 hours). The exam at the end must be completed in-person at the Tysons or Herdon location. I went for the exam in-person in the evening at the Tysons (Vienna) location and there was no one else scheduled so I was able to focus and complete the exam efficiently.
The staff confirmed that points post within twentyfour hours and I received a printout of my of course passing score.
The online course and final exam is $75 to complete and payable at the time of the in-person exam.
For those interested, even without a DMV prompt, you can take a driver improvement course every few years and receive the positive points to your license (assuming you pass the exam).

Met Stephanie and she informed me about the packages you can acquire for people without a driver's license. The idea of giving someone lessons so they won't have to walk or Uber everywhere sounds nice.


The person I am thinking of doesn't need to own a car in order to drive. It is something that will help you out in may ways. Should he met the boy or girl of his dreams, she will not want drive him around all the time.

These thought crossed my mind as Stephanie explained the options to me. Helping this man-child is not the best idea because of what happened the last time. Still,... this might be a way solve some problems...

JJ is a great instructor. Good job at normalizing the class and applying to common driving.

Terrible experience. Difficult communication to set up lessons for 2 learners. Instructor was rude and caused more anxiety than assistance. Requested refund.

Great 4 hour reckless driving class with Mike Patierno! Kept it interesting and insightful!

I have been dealing with the Tysons office (Maria!) and all I can say is how patient and lovely the staff has been. I don't review often, but these people are caring and understanding of kids with LD issues. Moreover, I called numerous times to ask questions, and they were always happy to explain procedures in a patient and kind way. I am so happy I picked this school for my son. Thank you AA and Maria.

Springfield Location: JJ is an awesome teacher who brings real life situations in the class. He played a video that was raw and very mind changing on the way how people should drive. He is really into teaching this subject. A+ in my book.

Called to set up an appointment for my daughter. I was told I needed to call Kashir the driver to negotiate rates and schedule. No way I would schedule someone outside of a reputable business take child in a car. i dont know who Kashir is but sounds a bit sketchy.

I've been dealing with AA Driving Academy for classes since I first received my driver's license, and I definitely recommend this business.

Recently, I was required to take a Driver Improvement Course. I registered for one of their 8-hour sessions, as they have very convenient timings along with multiple locations all throughout Northern Virginia. Ali was a very knowledgable, professional, and friendly instructor for this program, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing to take this class.

I've taking this class twice before but never learned as much or enjoyed the class as much as I did at AA Driving.

Ali has a wealth of knowledge and keeps the class fun and interactive. Yes, you have to watch the videos and take an short exam at the end but its well worth the money considering you get 5 points on your driving record (which looks great in front of any judge in any county) and you can save money on you car insurance!!!!

Basically it pays for itself. Well worth the investment of you time (Saturday morning for me) and money about $75 depending on what class.

Overall, I will recommend this place to any of my friends in similar unfortunate traffic offense situations or terrible driving records.

Bottom line: COME TO THIS PLACE IF YOU NEED TO TAKE A DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE. They also offer Reckless Driving courses God forbid that happens to any of us. AA get an A+++++
