I hired woods &woods to help with my appeal that I did all the work, then they did nothing on what I hired them for. Then they submitted claims for things I didn't ask for then they screwed up my paperwork. Then they said they can't get to a 100%so know they want to quit when I have a court date in a couple months. In short there off artists and I'll be reporting them and doing everything to make sure they don't do this anymore.

Hi Samuel, we apologize that we could not continue representation. After a thorough review of your claim and records, the attorney determined that we will not be able to provide arguments or evidence for either a 100% rating or TDIU. We do not take any action with a client's case without their permission and agreement first. We wish you the best of luck with your claim.

As other veterans have complained about their lack of response, this was also the case with me. I did all of the work for the disability case myself. They did not return phone calls, and even a VA disability advisor said using them almost lost me my case. Actually, I fired them before the settlement, but VA still paid them $7000 out of my claim. This was seven years ago, but when I read other veteran's reviews about them being unresponsive, they are not kidding. I do not want other vets to go through the hassles I did with these people. Hire an attorney whose office is close to home.

Scott, we're sorry to hear you had issues with our customer service in the past. We only collect a fee when we have won for our client. It looks like we got you to 100% while you were still our client, so that is why we still collected a fee. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are always open to feedback!

I've attempted to call them on numerous occasions and never get a response back. I wouldn't trust them if they had returned my call. There are better law firms out there for va disability claims.

I filled out a contact form on their website about DIC benefits and me being a substitute person on my late husband's claim for Agent Orange and ischemic heart disease and a woman called me back and she identified herself as being from Woods and Woods and was silent (she asked NO questions and gave no greeting). There as dead air on the phone literally for several seconds. I told her that I filled out a form online and what questions or info did she have for me based on what I asked to see if they could assist me. She said what do you want to know? I got NO indication that she read my questions or that she had any interest in her job.
Her tone was curt and rude like I was bothering her that she had to make the call to me. I have my own business and know the importance of the first contact. If this is what this firm is like when they are trying to get your business, I'd hate to see what they are like when they have it. Look elsewhere for help with your claim.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We are very sorry about your experience. We would love to make this right. Please give us a call at 800-544-2108 so we can discuss how we can do better. Thank you for giving us feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve.

I happened upon their ad online somewhere and thought "Why not check them out?" They will not accept your case if you are working, which many of us have to if we don't want to be homeless despite the pain it causes us. So I guess they'd take my case if I were not working and living out of trash cans, which, unfortunately so many of us end up living that way because society threw us away - not unlike this law firm. After reading many reviews, however, I think I dodged a bullet here. Also, please stop emailing me.

Hi Tyler, we are sorry you didn't have a good experience with us. Our firm focuses on VA disability claims for veterans who cannot work due to their service-connected conditions and survivor benefits for their spouses. We wish we could assist every veteran who calls us for help. However, we work with a network of partner firms that accept different types of cases. We would love to make things right. Please give us a call at 800-544-2108. Thank you for your feedback.

Hello David. I sincerely apologize for the miscommunication on our part. I followed up with Miranda, and she has attempted to reach out to you to discuss your concerns. According to our records, the gentleman you spoke with, Tyler, informed you of the conditions we would like to file for. However, our team will not be able to develop a more comprehensive case plan until we have access to your claims history from the VA. The VA does not permit us to access these records unless the veteran has signed a Power of Attorney agreement with us. We do try to be upfront about our fee structure in the contract and on our website: You pay nothing if we don't recover any backpay for you. If we do win your claim, our fee is a percentage of your backpay, plus case expenses. These expenses vary based on the evidence we need to collect to support your claim but are usually minimal compared to the amount our clients are awarded in retroactive pay. I am very sorry our team did not communicate this to you clearly. We would love the chance to speak with you to address any concerns you still have about the contract, fees, and what we do to argue your case.
Nov 7, 2022Previous reviewI had submitted my VA documents via email to Miranda, to see if W&W would accept my claim for compensation. Approximately one week later I was contacted by a gentleman stating my claim for compensation would be accepted and they also wanted to submit for SS disability. He then stated he was going to send me the contract. I ask for specific details as to what disability they would be submitting for. The intake manager was very vague with this information. I told him I would not sign any contract unless I receive more details. I then reviewed the payment with him of twenty percent of the back pay. He then stated "I guess no one told you, there are additional expenses."I said what expenses! He said doctor's fees. I was very upset. This was never explained to me by Miranda or Heather via phone calls or emails. I also left Miranda a message last week explaining my situation and said, "is this a VA scam."I still have not received any response. Your company employees should be upfront with all expenses!

I signed up with W&W in early 2020. in the beginning they were good to me but then they started to ignore me. They dragged their feet on time and i believe this is to inflate their 20% fee. I had even recommended some fellow veterans and like many others here the intake manager was extremely rude to them. I started to have my doubts. They fed me timelines of 1 year - then 1.6 then 2 and then 3 and now they say they cant assure me of any time lines because the VA is understaffed and over loaded with cases. They keep stringing me along. They switch you from case manager to case manager and give you the same old excuses. They're pretty robotic at this point as im sure they dont care and they just keep people on the hook and collect their fee - Im willing to give them 2 stars because or my newest case manager Kristi whos at least been honest with me. PLEASE skip the lawyers go online and do your own work. If i had done this in my case Im pretty sure i wouldn't be stuck in limbo going on 4 years in Jan.

Hi Bill, we are disappointed to hear that you are not happy with our services. We would never prolong a case for the sole purpose of increasing our fees. Unfortunately, every veteran's case is different. Turnaround times depend on the strength of the claim as much as the state of the VA at the time of the claim. While the VA can issue initial rating decisions in a matter of months, appeals can take years to be decided. Our priority is achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients, and we carefully consider many factors before making decisions that will impact a client's VA claim. Your case manager or one of our VA managers would be happy to discuss this with you further and answer any other questions you may have.

I was trying to work with them on my VA claim but they are unresponsive. Waste of time. Go somewhere else.
To be VERY clear regarding this firms reply to my comment:
I reached out to them, they responded and didn't respond when I told them I could not get a letter from a previous attorney used on the case and asked them specifically WHAT TO DO NEXT, probably a week later I then posted a review about how they were unresponsive, I then got an email in response to my last email before they went unresponsive, and upon me telling that woman I did not want to speak to her due to her only reaching out because of the review I posted and wanted someone else to reach out from the company, I did not hear back from her stating that she would have someone else contact me nor has one else has contacted me. They then called me while I was in school and responded to my comment. :)
TRASH ass company who only responds when they get bad reviews.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Kristin. We are sorry we didn't provide the kind of response times you were expecting. When we read your previous review, we attempted to reach out to rectify the situation. However, it seemed that only served to anger you more. We do wish you all the best on your claim, and we hope you find an attorney who better meets your needs.

Wow. I guess they don't want me as a client. Have sent e mails, and drove to their office. The woman I was e mailing with suggested i go to the office as she could not assist. So I did. Was met by a woman in a very inappropriate sweat pants and t shirt who referred me back to the e mail lady. Then messaged the e mail lady back and decided enough was enough. Shouldn't have to beg for help. I was an injury adjuster for 17 years, para-legal in a criminal defense firm and records clerk for the VA here in Evansville and have only witnessed such a cluster a couple of times. Review headline says I'm in San Fran...no I'm here in Evansville.

Dropped them as my reps over a year ago. I just won my case and I find out they are still taking (just spoke to them "they feel they deserve the fee") a almost $3000 fee from my awards!!! I fired them well over a year ago, as they simply did NOTHING in a timely manner. I asked they drop my case and no fee be charged, they sent a letter saying they would do just that. Woods and Woods just stole money from me, they did not earn it, and they won't return it. THESE PEOPLE ARE THEIFS!!!! I will be contacting my current representative and the VA.
ATTN NEIL WOODS: Sir, you are conducting dirty business practices. This story will be shared thousands of times by my many brothers and sisters in arms. People will find out about you taking disabled veterans money even though you don't and haven't represented them in years. MAKE IT RIGHT!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

Hi Travis. First, congratulations on winning your appeal! You were awarded benefits based upon evidence and information we submitted to the VA before you terminated our representation. Because the work was done by our office, we are entitled to the fee. I reviewed all correspondence with you and we made clear we were not waiving the fees for the work we completed. We sent you a link to challenge the fee with the VA if you disagree.
Respectfully,
Neil Woods
