A Taste of Windy City

Today I had a horrific experience at this restaurant. First I need to rewind about 6 years. 6 years ( or so) I loved going to this restaurant when my dad was sick and staying in a nearby hospital. I've lived in Chicago and consider myself to be a "Chicago- style food connoisseur". Their food was fantastic. Then I got sick from eating an Italian beef there...it was diagnosed as food poisoning from a doctor... about a year later. I didn't go back until today. Today my son is having all day testing at the doctor's office. They took a break for lunch. They said to be back in 20-30 minutes. McDonald's and hardees and burger king are all located near this restaurant but they all had buses of children on field trips. So I decided to give this restaurant another shot. We hit the drive thru in hopes of speedy service since we only had 25 minutes max left in time. I was in drive thru for 35 minutes. Trapped.
We ordered gyros and fries. The meat was so hard it hurt my teeth. And to compensate for the lack of meat they put about a 1/2 cup of sauce on the bottom of the gyro. One sandwich had no tomato, the other had one. Very disappointing. It looks like I'll wait another 5 years before I go back. I hope I don't get sick. The drive thru attendant didn't even offer an apology.

This is a very good Chicago style place.
Italian beef was fantastic. My son had a combo that was huge. My wife had a Philly
All great , the owner and staff were friendly and helpful with any questions . Don't be afraid of the area . Just be observant. Enjoy.

I found this place on Yelp and have it a whirl. I ordered the beef gyro meal. It was an outstanding gyro. And huge! The fries were good but the gyro really stole the show. Don't let the paint job on the outside scare you off. It was a great meal for nine dollars and some change.

They do a decent job for a convenient local greasy spoon. I haven't tried anything but the fries, chili, and chicken. Chili and fries good, chicken mediocre, service good.

Ordered the Italian beef dipped and added hot peppers. Amazing and just spicy enough! Friendly place one customer who had already ordered told us we had to try the homemade onion rings. Great suggestion! You need to check this place out it even has a drive through. If this was back home in Columbia I'd be here every week!

Decided to give this place a try while headed home from an event at the nearby high school-- I am glad I did! The gryo meal was great. Food was done quickly and still hot when I got home with my bag. I will be back!

Went there yesterday after reading the reviews. Wasn't disappointed as I ordered the Combo dipped, with both Hot and Sweet Peppers added. The taste was great, service was prompt and helpful. Would head back when wanting an Italian beef sandwich.

I'm from Pennsylvania and I prefer their cheesesteaks over any I've had in Philly. Super friendly and fast service! Decent price. Highly recommended!

Honestly I ordered online from order to eat, I received my food a little earlier than expected, was very impressed with the fact that EVERYTHING was fresh and hot upon arrival. The food was very delicious, me, my husband, and daughter, ordered two italian beefs,fries, mozzarella sticks,and chicken wings. The quality of the beef meat was very good and they dipped them exactly how we requested them to do online, only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because with a beef like that, they should have way better hot peppers to go on the sandwich lmbo...but outside of that, the mozzarella sticks were very good and fresh, nice size, and the dipping sauce it came with was very tasty. My daughter enjoyed her chicken wings, the chicken was seasoned very well. We're from Chicago and this is actually one of the best italian beefs that we've had since we've moved here...we will definitely make this our new go to restaurant when we're looking for that chi town taste and flavor

Excellent!! Beats all Chicago style places around!! Love the Italian beef in any way. Homage onion rings are the best onion rings I have ever had. Not only is the food good but great service. The cook and cashier always ask how everything was. Only con is location for some but I like everything about this place.
