All I will say is this guy called me a "Karen" after daring to ask questions when he texted to cancel my booking out of the blue. He did not identify himself or reference a booking number when he reached out. I had to google his number to find out who was calling me. When I called Viator, the booking website, they told me my booking was confirmed and sent me the tickets. In the confusion, I asked for a refund and confirmation of the cancelation as I had already been charged and the $$ pulled from my account. This was all while I was trying to enjoy a dinner out during my visit to Portland. So that was somewhat ruined.
I am sure he will respond here with a salty comeback which appears to be his M.O. when things don't go as planned. Honestly, have never encountered such rudeness when the company is in the wrong. Or been called a Karen, for that matter. Trip was overbooked, ok. Let people know with some humility and kindness. It all worked out as we found another company and had a gorgeous day in the Willamette Valley.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 27777102Dec 22, 2021
Unbelievable! A two minute phone call told us every concern we had about booking with Wayne and Camille was on point (thanks, fellow Yelpers!). My husband called to inquire about a private tour - after a making a phony big deal about squeezing us in and confirming price, Wayne said his wife would be our driver. However several reviewers here warn against riding with her, so we politely said we would call again to confirm. Wayne was quite nasty and crude, stating, "I know you're not going to call back because the tour is out of your price range..."
It's not, Wayne. But your demeanor isn't worth $6, let alone $600. Please don't support a business that treats potential customers this way - imagine how they must be after they get your money!
(PS see my review of Backcountry for information about a private tour done right!!)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sharmi L.Atlanta, GA098Sep 16, 2022
Wayne was the BEST tour guide EVER! We came to McMinnville for a five day trip with a group of friends to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and retirement! I had mistakenly told Wayne what wineries I thought I wanted to go to. The day before I realized I wanted to change it up after a bad experience with a different tour. Wayne was up for the challenge and completely changed our itin and we had the most perfect 2 days with him. He took us to small and private wineries that were unbelievable. Wayne also made us lunch both days and they were amazing. Don't make the same mistakes I did, book with Wayne and leave the planning to him.

Unfortunately this tour did not meet our expectations. I did contact the owner via text, email, and had a phone conversation. I feel my concerns were not heard nor was an apology offered. This tour does focus on Pinot Noir tastings. I did not see this listed on the Viator tour description so I want to point that out for people who do not drink this type of wine. I realize I should have done more research on the type of wines in the area, but thankfully the wineries we did visit also had chardonnay. I shared my wine preferences with our guide Danny and was met with frustration. Comments from our tour guide included "we won't find your grandma wine there" "we can find your type of wines at other wineries but the views will be dirt roads" I did try some tastings of Pinots and affirmed I don't care for them. Danny kept saying you should just try it and expand my pallet-I did try and I didn't like it. The tastings at the wineries visited (which I know were not included in the tour price) were expensive, and I didn't want to waste money drinking wines I don't care for. I was spoken to condescendingly because of my "sugary tastes" There were two other ladies who were part of the tour that we did not know. When asking about wine Danny's like well I will have to talk to the others about changing plans to find something you like. I would never want plans changed on my account because I didn't know them or their tastes. I said don't worry about it since I didn't want their plans changed.
The drive home after the wineries was rough. The van's check engine light came on, the air was turned off, there was a burning smell, and the van was struggling to go up hill. I was concerned about getting back to our hotel safely.
When we got back to our hotel, I did text Wayne and asked for his email so I could share my concerns. He replied back immediately and I sent my email outlining the same concerns I have noted above. Wayne responded that a phone call was needed to right this wrong. I spoke with Wayne for 20 minutes, I don't feel he listened but instead questioned everything-why didn't I research wineries? why did I book through Viator? why did the other couple on the tour have a great experience? (they liked Pinot I'm guessing) why didn't I request another vehicle for my mom who used a cane? Why didn't we sit or eat with the other couple on the tour? All of these things were not issues or concerns. My concern was how I was spoken to and looked down upon by our tour guide.
I received an email request from the company via Viator to share my experience about the tour so I'm doing just that.
The highlights: the wineries were beautiful. The views at the wineries were incredible. The winery staff were friendly and engaging. All offered suggestions of other wineries in the area that would match my tastes better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kaari D.Auburn, WA54626Apr 30, 2021
Wayne was seriously the BEST. Don't hesitate, book your wine tour.
I booked this trip to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. This will live in our memories forever. Wayne knows SO much about wine and the area. He's also extremely entertaining and funny. Between each vineyard stop, he'd keep us entertained but also educate us on the area.
Before the trip, I talked to Wayne and told him a little about what we like in wine. He totally listened and our itinerary reflected what we like.
What was best? He midway through the day he discovered we'd visited a winery he'd planned on taking us the day before. His reaction - he made some calls and got us a great tasting at another winery. It felt really VIP.
I can't wait to book another wine tour and see what else Wayne has up his sleeves!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephen W.Burbank, CA042Jul 9, 2022
Visiting Portland for a business meeting I was very lucky to have found Wayne and A Great Oregon Wine Tour for an off site event for my small group. Wayne's energy and knowledge made the day a great experience for everyone. Next time I visit the area I'll call Wayne and visit more local wineries.

This Willamette Valley wine tour was well worth enjoying. If you're not aware, this region is internationally respected for its Pinot noir. The tour guide, Teri, was knowledgeable on the area and beyond wine, knew some great stops and history on Portland. She was also fun and responsible, fitting in 6 stops including an Olive Oil Farm and Farmers Market. We also had an awesome gourmet lunch overlooking the valley. We highly recommend this particular wine tour if you're looking for a day of wine tastings plus a fine lunch and entertainment.

I really appreciated this tour. We found this company from Trip Advisor reviews and were looking for something that would pick us up at our Air BnB and take us around to wineries. I appreciated that they set things up ahead of time and had asked about why we were visiting the area and what kind of wines we liked.
Our driver was Alex who is very nice and extremely knowledgeable about wines and also about the city of Portland. She gave us tons of good advice on things to try and restaurants to eat at. Also when we said we wanted to try more bubbly wines, she took us to a great tasting at Argyle.
I did think that we'd be guided more towards free tastings or places where there was a "connection" to get more of a premier experience. There was one place we went to where Alex thought we had some kind of reservation or arrangement, but that didn't seem to be the case. I really enjoyed all the places we went to, though I felt like it would have been nice to get the tasting fees waived on some of them. Maybe $20 a place is the standard for Portland or we just ended up at places with higher tasting fees.
The lunch was tasty but it was more sort of an appetizers picnic, and I would have liked sandwiches or more bread to absorb some of the alcohol. The cheeses and meats were really good and beautifully arranged.
All and all, it was a very nice tour. I think especially being new to the area, it was good to be driven around by someone else and this way all of our party could drink. It was also very nice to be picked up and dropped off at our Air BnB. And Alex took a good way back so we could see a few places nearby for dinner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Meredith A.Los Angeles, CA1369Jul 25, 2022
I've had the pleasure of taking this wine tour twice -- once with a group of 8 girlfriends on my bachelorette trip, and once on a private tour for 2 with just my dad and myself. We had an excellent time on both and I wouldn't hesitate to book this tour again when returning to the Valley. Wayne was our guide and he is not only super knowledgeable about the area and goes above and beyond to help curate a special experience, finding the best the Valley has to offer, he's also just a fun and friendly guy to spend the day with! Not to mention he makes a killer lunch. You could spend hours trying to research the area with its 500+ wineries, deal with the hassle of booking reservations, or you could take the guess work out of it and put your trust in Wayne and Camille's amazing company. Money well spent. Thanks, Wayne and Camille! Can't wait to come back

Celebrated my sister's bachelorette weekend with a wine tour in Willamette Valley with Wayne as our tour guide and shuttle! Wayne was great! Planning the day ahead of time, he was extremely accommodating and made all the reservations at the wineries for our group. As for pickup and experience, amazing! He was right on time to get us from our rental home and then immediately got the party started with a great bluetooth speaker we could connect to. He also had a cooler and ice ready for us to enjoy! I'd highly recommend this tour and Wayne!
